  • what is the music at the end from.. sounds familiar

  • dang i really wanted this to continue and see the how you were going to blend in the texture. i do traditional painting so this was extremely interesting thanks for sharing

  • so why don't you use the "color" selection on the dropdown? it doesn't change ANY part of the value's you got from your black and white render...

  • nevermind...

  • Great video! Im have problems with skin textures and composition can you give me some tips??

  • Best tutorial on youtube for this!!! Thanks so much. It took a while for me to find one this good :)

  • By far you are the only person so far to have established a comprehensible, easy, and good tutorial, i actually learned from this. now i dont have to be slowing down people who are coloring/speedpainting to see what theyre doing

  • No part 5? Good work though. If you get a chance check out my speed paintings and critique. I would really appreciate it. Keep up the nice work!

  • tank you very much, this video helps me so so much :)

  • can you provide the original image so we may practise

  • AWESOME MAN THANK YOU FOR THIS.

  • OMG,awesome!

  • This is the best color tutorial I've seen. This helped a lot. Though it's still a bit weird to do with a mouse XD

    Thank you a lot.

  • thanks

  • awesome samurai champloo intro!

  • Part 5 please?

  • is it a very hard to convert your drawing skills from on paper onto the intuos ?

  • amazing. tks 4 the help! :D

  • So you use a mouse or a drawing pad?

  • These are amazing tutorials! Its really exciting to see the concept art come alive and you also explain everything very well. I really hope you continue to part 5 one day.

  • where's part 5?

  • Hey. This is really amazing and your teaching people so I thank you. I want to learn to do things like this since my goal is to be a concept artist but I'm New.

But to do this is it necessary to do traditional painting or to have that in my background? I do love painting but im not that strong . Please reply thanks

  • congrat!!

    the best mode of explication!

    thanks...

  • Man you deserve 100 million views... A paragon of clarity and brevity!

  • Very helpful...thanks!

  • I really love this series, but it's a shame that it's been 8 months since the last video was uploaded. :\

  • Thanks Chris, this series of tutorials has been really helpful and inspiring. I just made a drawing trying to apply your lessons.

It's no way near your piece, but as a first attempt I'm quite happy, since it's way better than other paint experiments i did in PS before seeing your tutorials. Critique would be very welcome!! :)

  • Since i could not place a hyperlink, add com behind deviantart. and past in browser: hugo3d.deviantart./#/d36sl2y

  • Your tutorials are incredible. Simple, efficient explanations that stick. Teacher material FTW!

  • Really great tutorials! Don't stop :D

  • You have the best tutorials I have seen, you are what I have been looking for for months! :D

  • Can u upload the texture tutorial plz??????????

  • @TheInventorL if you just use different brushes on the burn tool with a lighter opacity you can just use those. the maple leaf works pretty good

  • sorry , I meant 2000 euros

  • I mean you can`t draw like that with mouse and good wacom costs at least 200 euros

  • @rroobboo999 man a Bamboo is enough for this. It's about 60 euros on ebay with delivery.

  • of course you kick ass man, but it was useless for me coz no wacom available

  • and he never uploaded the texture tutorial...

  • Dude, theres no way i can thank you enough, im having trouble making the jump from traditional media to digital, and this is just golden!!

  • great video, excellent concept, thanks for the tips!!!

  • what coloring software are you using

  • This is great, thank you so much.

  • Fantastic!

  • I think you're hurting your overall read by rendering all of the spherical bumps on his shadow side as lit by their own independent light sources. The pustules in the shadows seem to have their own halflights, terminators, shadow zones, and highlights, which is breaking the uniformity of the light. You never really see highlights in the shadows, because a highlight is a specular of the light source. I tend to have this habit, too. If you nix that, I think your work would gain a lot of impact

  • can you do a tutorial on painting people??

  • Your videos are so helpful, I can't wait to see more. : )

  • These vids are great, especially for me as a newcomer to ps. Keep your good work up! ;)

  • hey my friend what oppaccity and flow do you do the coloring and the basis drawings of the creature :D ? thankss i like ur work alot and this video helped alot

  • @iiZGriZzly Thanks Grizz! I use 100% opacity and flow, just tweak with brush settings.

  • @CGArtSuccess oke thanks , when i draw in photoshop should i start with keen lines so tht you can see how the concept is gonna look on later stage or should i just start of with big grey lines, or what do you do :)?

  • @CGArtSuccess Would you mind giving a tutoral on ur brush settings etc please? it would really help out! love your concept art alot!
