Nice Snake man ! Love the rear wing delete. Love the 03-04 Cobra wheels. Love the clean engine bay. Love the lines of the sn-95, it's my favorite of all Mustangs...
i've got a 97 cobra as well and am looking at a turbo kit. so far i've been looking at an hp kit but have heard great things about hellion as far as the terminators go. is this a twin 62mm kit or single and did you have to do any major modifications? thanks man
Well first off I'll start by saying that I got the car for a great price with the turbo kit already installed. Secondly, a tad over 500rwhp at 3700RPM so it's no slouch. It's lighter than a Terminator, and I've always preferred the body style to a Terminator.
Secondly, what exactly are you referring to about the '98 Cobra? It's the same body style, same motor, and the only difference in some cases is that they came with returnless systems which I prefer not to deal with.
The 96-98 cobras come with an Aluminum block rated up to 1000 hp as opposed to the iron block all newer mustangs come with that is only rated up to 600 before you need to do some reinforcement.
Also some people prefer the look of the SN95 over the new edge. Some people got their car with modifications already installed and it simply saves money. Some people would rather not have another car payment.
Also there is little to no difference between the 97 and the 98 cobras FYI.
440hp/437tq on 9psi on those pulls. I haven't had it back to the dyno I'm still breaking in the motor. I also had straight through bullet mufflers installed and dumped, as well as IMRC deletes and 3.31 gears installed since that video. I'm looking for about 470rwhp on 9psi with a little extra timing in it.
@busta7888 oh yeah good car. question i got a 98 gt im trying to get a hellioin turbo single that is...... i know i need forged internals and heads and cams umm maybe timing chain but u think that work if i get a 03 -04 interanls or 03-04 short block???

For as much as your probably spent on getting a 97 Cobra up to that level, why didn't you just buy a 2003 Terminator and done some minor upgrades?
Alternatively, why didn't you get a 98 Cobra instead of a 97, so you'd have a better base to work with from the start?

You're right, sorry about that. I thought for some reason that pre-98 cobras were not DOHC and had slightly less HP.

@busta7888 98's had ported IMRC's... it really didnt change too much tho...
