Shouldn't have done it. The first movie was amazingly breathtaking and heartbreaking. I think trying to recapture that was a big mistake.

They are even trying to make a third one. It's been in talks since about 2007. Dan Ackroyd is all for it and they are trying to get her to reprise her role as Vada. I don't think they should bother. Sequels are never a good idea. Leave well enough alone.

I really liked both My Girl and My Girl 2. I wasn't at all disappointed or felt it was lacking with the absence of Macaulay Culkin. I thought Austin O'Brien, the woman who played his mother, and all the supporting players throughout the movie (like Ben Stein and the guy who played the poet) more than made up for it. And the story was good. I felt it stood up to the original perfectly, which is very rare. I like them both about the same.
