  • oh so you go to the gym with your shirt off all the time? tool.

  • @SpartanMatt009 lol hes doing an ab video. why would he have his shirt on. u mad. you dont have a body like him

  • I miss you Dylan.

  • can this also be used as a glute excerises?

  • wow, i could never do that.

  • suffers from invisible lat syndrome

  • Long-ass neck is long

  • Leg raises hit your hip flexors more than your abs. To hit your abs with leg raises, go past parallel. I.E. bring your legs up to your face.

This guy looks like a tool after he gets off the bar and is standing around.

  • @yonkersfugitive That's a good way to mess your back up. Never go past parallel. At that point your not using your abs and your putting your spine into an unnatural position. Simply do crunches in addition to leg raises.

  • @Terreos i didnt know that spinal injury was that common with bodyweight exercises...but of course, you obviously know best. If going past parallel is putting your spine into an unnatural position then what would you call the fetal position??? Unnatural??

Im guessing you are saying to do crunches in addition to leg raises to make sure you hit your "upper and lower" abs? If so, you have made it clear just how vast your knowledge is on the subject. Save yourself the embarrassment and let it go.

  • @yonkersfugitive Isn't it true that leg raises only target the lower abs though? Just asking cause I'm noob and want to learn more about this.

  • @futsalfred2 that is a myth...Your abdominals are a group of muscles that work together to perform core stabilization. Every other "major" muscle group's function is to bend a joint or at least assists in bending a joint in one way or another. There is no such thing as "targeting" upper or lower abs, Upper or lower chest, inner or outer biceps, etc.

You want to see your lower abs?? Clean up your diet.

  • @yonkersfugitive Thanks.

During leg raises, I can't breathe. My muscles are really tight around my chest. Have any tips?

    I'm already super skinny, thanks.

  • @futsalfred2 you should be holding your breath during the flexion portion. In other words, hold your breath while you are lifting your legs up.

  • @yonkersfugitive i def have targeted my upper and lower rectus abdominis and my serratus and obliques muscles.

  • @shankpa keep thinking that champ

  • @yonkersfugitive yea no thinking about it; i KNOW that if one does crunches, one will feel soreness in the rectus abdominus the following day. i KNOW that if one does plank exercises, one will feels soreness on the internal and external obliques the following day. there should be a youtube collection fund for people who school others on here.....

  • @shankpa do a little research on how to workout instead of listening to "broscience" and reading your musclemags you tool...there SHOULD be a "collection", so you could reap all the benefits cuz you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • Didn't he have really thin legs? His upper body was pretty good though.

  • cute guy!

  • Good video. Makes me think too that these also give the lats a nice stretch, i guess especially if you use a more narrow grip.

  • how do you prevent from swaying

  • @tybennion1 lower your legs very slowly, that's where the workout really kicks in

  • you have way more bulk than me, but i can do about 10 times what you just did.

  • @JakobTedrick hes not working out!.. hes teaching people what to do...

  • can someone tell me why it hurts my back? i dont fell any burning in my abs at all. i can do like 20 of them but it only effects my lower back

  • @OwnedEpicly He was being funny...

  • @RedHorizon100 thanks

  • Comment removed

  • If I shake my head from side to side and make a mean face after the exercise like he does, will that help?

  • @AshesToStars yeah man it actually will, doing that boosts the animal instinct psyche which in turn boosts testosterone!

  • It's harder than it looks. Doing it with good form is what's most important. I can't keep my body straight yet, I keep swinging around like a gorilla

  • @woodyfly then dont do it yet...........

  • @somedudey0

If you can't do it, you keep doing it until you get it right.

Stupid advice you got there bud.

  • @woodyfly ............. if your doin it the wrong way thats how your gona do it forever, better do other workouts for the abds and when get stronger the do this......

  • @woodyfly some workouts are for beginners, and some other like this leg raises are for advance stronger guys.........

  • @somedudey0 And your not one of them.

  • you have any recomendations for diet or what to eat when workin out everyday for more insane abs

  • Actually this is not a very good ab exercise. This exercise primally trains the hipflexors (iliopsoas) and not the abdominals. To train abs you need to do a activity, that flexes the spine (columa).

  • when i do this exercise i never feel the strain, can some1 tell me wtf is wrong? haha

  • what is, in your opinion the best way to burn off stomach fat ( belly and love handles)? Do the straps make a big difference in this exercise?

  • @1981may8 Do cardio. You cannot spot burn fat. Unfortunately for people who sell ab gimmicks, this is the truth. If you are at all active and you do some resistance training, you probably already have a decent set of abs hiding under that stomach fat. Good luck.

  • what if i dont have the strenght to do them with straight legs? I feel like i need some more stretching or is it just that i need more strenght? If its that what can i do to get it?

  • what is ur Body fat%?

  • best ab exercise ever

  • nice workout but his neck is a lil to long.

  • Lmfao... It kinda looks funny cuz his upper body is so still and only his legs are moving up and down. (x So corny to point out.

  • Hey what do I do if my bar is too low for full hanging leg raises? My legs don't hang, I gotta tuck em behind me. Alternatives? Lying leg raises?

  • how fast did you get these?

  • How much does the model weigh? Please reply to my post so I see it in my inbox. I am debating whether to cut weight and have to admit he has a good physique.

  • nice work chicken legs

  • Bring the legs up more nancy boy

  • Some people watch these to gain muscle. I'm watching because it's fuckin hot.

  • fuckin whore

  • thanks man - nice set

  • lol chicken legs

  • Is this video about his legs? I guess I missed something.

  • lol most body builders put too much emphasis on upper body

  • @snny99 not realy u gotta have the great upper body b/c thats what girls see first

  • @r0cawearzxp hey shut up lol i got chicken legs

its cool though b/c by the time girls see my legs it to late for them to worry about it

  • dont you bring your knees all to thec chest ? i been doing this for 2 weeks already. the results are progessive. cant wai too see more results in 2 more weeks

  • The 'iron gym' doorway bar with ab straps is an intense ab workout. Hanging leg raises will work upper and lower abs. Check out my abs, i never do crunches or any other ab work.

  • Strange, when I lift weights there's no theme music like that that starts playing. How do I make that happen?

  • @averagejoe0073 Go to a gym that plays music...?

  • @averagejoe0073 haha!

  • @averagejoe0073 The music only plays for calistetics.

  • you should get those arm bands. because your hands give out way before your abs do

  • exactly, they dont have them at my gym though

  • or some chalk and work your grip strength which is better than buying one of those faggy hanging pads

  • rubbish. he just raising his leg, thereby training his hip flexors. The way he is performing this exercise is doing very little for the abs. He should bring his knees towards his face, that way he will be doing an opposite crunch, engagig his abs muscles fully. There are much better videos of this exercise on youtube.

  • he may be performing them rubbish but i do hanging leg raises and i feel them in my abs..sit ups are the best for abs in my oppinion

  • Hanging leg raises is great for abs, best ab exercise in my opinion. That doesn`t mean that the guy in the video is doing them correctly. He has great abs, but he is doing the exercise poorly.

  • dumbass

they work different sections of the abs

crunches work the upper- sit ups work the centre and leg raises work the lower.

  • hey mate ive got a dip and chinup multi machine, just wondering i have awesome 6 pack but my bottom 2 are not as great when i do the leg raises like you show, my quads hurt b4 my abs do and soo i cant get any burn in them becasue i have to stop casue my legs are feeling soo heavy and sore and advise?

  • try with bent legs first bring knees up into our chest, then drop down but only half way downt hen repeat the movement, keeping back straight at all time, do this slowly and controlled and twenty of these will be hard to do when you feel more comfortable start putting a twist init

  • good video

  • I do it with 10 lbs in between my foot.

  • get a haircut you hippy.

  • What does it matter?

  • thats not long at all, and who the fuck cares you should let it go

  • what the fuck are you talking about? weirdo.

  • ahhhhh, the hair? haha. he looks like a cartoon faggot. i take it you have girly dreads too? fuck.. loser.

  • should we bring the legs closer to the chests?

  • what's the point in changing the grip?

  • exactly what i was going to ask lol. Seems pointless

  • there isnt anypoint its easier to do with an underhand or hammer grip though u dont swing as much

  • hey when doing that is it better to straighten your feet down or make your feet at a right angle with your legs?

  • both are ok...of course it is harder to straighten the legs

  • best is to go up with your legs straight

  • thank god for the youtube experts making his training possible

  • load of shit

  • true, if you don't bend your waist, then you're just stretching the muscle and flexing it very little. now, if you flex completely then it's a great exercise. in fact so great, i almost got a hernia after doing it, because it stresses even the muscles underneath the abs(like the internal abs).

  • agreed

  • HI, IS THAT THE powertec basic trainer ? THANKS

  • DOesnt matter how your legs are, as long as their is enough resistance to make encourage musclegrowth in the abdominals...

  • not man boobs just pecs.

you have man boobs when you have a lot of fat like womens breasts.

Pecs are muscle something the human body needs!

Btw sweet vid mate and you've got some big lats!

  • ACTUALLY--you should bring your knees into your chest as high as you can. The beginning of the legraises up to horizontal builds mostly the hip flexors. Only when you bring your knees into your chest do you really work your abs. In gymnastics we brought straight legs up--toes pointed--to touch the bar and then down to horizontal and then back up to touch the bar. This forces the abdominals to do most of the work--and keeps tension on the abdominals throughout.

  • if i bring my knees towards my chest, do i workout the complete abdominal area? i am 10% body fat & i'm try n 2 get a 6 or 8 pack i'm natrually lean and do calesthetics everyday, pullups, pushups, crunches, & jumprope) how long do you think it will take. i got a 4 pack barely noticeable

  • Not every ab exercise will work the complete abdominal area. Dylan has nice abs that he's developed through a number of complimentary abs exercises. But the hanging leg raise he demonstrates in THIS video works mostly the hip flexors but it does tense his abs. BUT the abs are better exercised if he were to slightly bend at the knees and bring those knees up and into the chest. This is exactly what some call "reverse situps" on an incline board, but just at the highest possible angle.

  • Andy, great advice on these videos. Keep up the beneficial tips / comments. I'm hiring someone soon to manage the video section of our website. Stay tunned more vids are on the way.

  • I didn't mean to be overly picky--but I'm picky on form. I was in gymnastics for 11 years and got correct form yelled into me. Dylan's got a great set of abdominals and it's great seeing his abdominal videos. What I appreciate about Dylan is that he's got great knowledge and great body show demonstrate the exercises. Keep up the great abdominal videos.

  • @andy1985jones

There are like three things that abs help you with to move easy. You can train uper abs (rectus abdominis) , lower abs (intercostales) and both sides (obliques). Here are three exercises that wil give you abs for sure. Make sure you do these atleast 3 times a week. I know there are more exercises but this wil do!

    - hanging leg raise (like dylan is showing)

    - bench crunch combined with normal crunch ( you can even put weights behind your head to make it heavier)

    - side crunch

  • @mrnoninvisible rectus abdominus is usually associated with the lower abs, but it goes all the way up lol. look at a diagram.

  • @zalron69 I read that that muscle is like an elastic band. You pull on one side and the other end stretches by same amount. Yup, it goes all the way up. The thing is, this fella in the video is doing the exercises too fast.

  • Very nice Dylan.. GREAT 8 pac bud.. Actually great everything...

  • NICE WORKOUT

  • thanks!
