Hi mate excellent work I love this video and have watched it many times I have a question if you don't mind answering, I am working on a similar logistics project where I have to develop an offline Pocket PC functionality, did you created your pocket PC app in Silver-light? or its a standard .net compact win forms?
Don't seem to be usefull in reality. It should be think to be use with a touch screen. And the information more in your face. I would not use that in my restaurant. Check "Maitre D"
i saw u develop a beautiful login form with effect. so can u please develop a that kind of login form with effect and give me the code. my mail id is tri_inn@yahoo.com
bro u awesome mind blowin app no wordz to express simple superb i a great fan of u aftr thiz vid and plzz bro teach me u tatics plzz i m ready 2 learn frm a pro...plz bro plzzz giv me ur email address so that we can hav contactz plzzzz.watz ur qualificationz and ur profession bro ???
The goal of this project for me was learning WPF and creating an Eye catching UI. I should clarify that it was not developed to work on a real restaurant because the processes came to my mind from my simple imagination, not hearing it from a restaurant domain expert. Thus such processes might not exist in a real restaurant or the ways doing them might be completely different.
I agree with all about the slowness of the Windows Mobile app.
THIS IS TOOOO LONG PROCESS i assume their manager , waiter interfaces wiil be placed different in real life for cutting out the extra time u know like different for manager alloting tables and customer placing thier own order with the waiter thing and instead of kitchen staff getting a hard copy soft copy wiill be circulaated and a recieved report from customer on the table will wrap things up for kithen staff
Hi ,my friend, I'm very glad to see your works. The gui is so beautiful .And I 'm learning wpf . I want to do the startup gui,can you help me ? I need you code.
@jembhz You're right; in the real world, the waiter can't wait that long. However, he could probably find a way to apply the application (or principle for it) to help speed up restaurants. I worker in one; it can get really busy, really fast, and we'd be tripping over each other 'cause of the demands.
@AliDaneshmandi Ever think of streamlining everything to an app that runs on the server, then stream the application to the mobile device? That's what I'd do. not a fan of centralization, but if it makes it run faster (and smoother), why not?
Anyhow, I'm wondering if you have any tips for writing the proposal and plan; I'm working on a warehouse/grid project myself... hate the paper work.
Very nice man... but in the real world a waiter cannot take too long for creating an order, the system cannot take too long for loading the menu, in order to make it a competitive product (I'm talking about your software) it has to be as fast as hell... just a positive critic... regards
@dan. you're very talented, not only do you use a wide range of modern, sensible and suitable technologies, but you also have a wonderful creative ability that allows you to produce pleasing to the eye user interfaces. well done!
well thank you. I'm glad you like them. For your first try on WPF it was REAAAALLY good though. I'm just starting to learn C# atm so I really envy you a bit. Again. Awesome.
nice. I like the idea and the programming. Some minor tweaks and restaurants should really consider using it.
For example it would be nice to have "push" notification. So that you for example get a pop up or a small icon (as the waiter) indicating that food is ready for serving. Or a table map where the waiter doesn't have to know table number and can select the table on an image.
Thanks.Your ideas are nice. This project was my first try on WPF and I believe it needs some changes to be more productive and useful. Even though, there is some limitations on Windows Mobile to create much more effective UX, I think your ideas can be implemented.
WTF WPF ? Amazing work !
Could you explain how you make the login window's animation ?

Nice applications. You should try using the Windows 7 Phone SDK to develop the phone app. I assume it will be a faster experience then ;)

@MrDanClark Thanks.
Of course it will be. WP7 in compare to WM, is a deep ocean to lake from the graphical and UX point of view :)
Silverlight really rocks!

The reaction of the application is incredibly slow. The 'busy box with the 4 colors' stays up way too long. Is the future of computing?
How many times have you hear a customer service person say 'the system is slow today' or 'I'm just waiting for the computer'.

@jembhz Thanks. Yes, you are right. To be honnest, this is not commercial and I did it just for learning stuffs and doing my final project.
I would prefer each table in a restaurant have a fixed touchable inteface which let the customer do the order process.
