  • i have wanted to quit so many times, but i have to be in control. my excuse was boredom, but in truth it is stupidity, raw stupidity and nothing else. don't want to be conned, tempted, fooled anymore. we will never win anything. it is a disgrace. inbox me, lets support eachother in our new views, values, and beliefs.

  • me too, have been addicted out of boredom, low self esteem. lost everything

  • I''ve known for about 2 years now that I am a cumpulsive gambler. I have a wife and son and I need to change. Thank you for the video

  • im 19 and lost 2000+ gambling

  • well I used to be able to pick winners, but I am ice cold now playing with scared money. I know my luck will turn around soon!!!

  • advice: try to find a new hobby that you enjoy, and don't get into debt... save as much as you can at a time. Talk to someone and be honest. Repeat.

  • I lost 1300 dollars this time I gave away my bankcard, keyes to my internettbank and going to give all my ID the day before pay day to my brother, its crazy but true. Props to that guy that gives us gambler a voice!

  • i lost about £6000 and it took a long time to save as i am unemployed and got my self into £2500 debt because of my habbit but i have been clean for a while now i stopped because i love my child and my husband they mean more than a slot machine it is easy for me to say it now but at thhusband did not hide my stuff time it was hard and a buzz for me. i resented the ones i love most and if my husband did not hide my stuff i would of selled it all and i am only 21 it is worth stopping :)

  • ironman6381 you sound like a sorry loser

  • its killing me

  • I can relate to what you said about winning tommorrow to cover todays losses. I have won and lost over 20 thousand in the last six months! Thankfully I'm getting out while I'm ahead. You will never beat the online casinos, your playing against a computer for Christs sake. Stop now or better yet never start!

I need to find a way...This video inspired me!!

  • leroy, hey my names jordan, i am very religous, i spent my 21 year life attending mass every sunday i am going to college right now and am struggling realy bad with the online poker, i find ways to get money online and lose money i dont have, i work every weekend, make decent money @ a bar, but im losing moroe than i make and i am so tired of this feeling i have in my stomach right now, i cant sleep , i dont eat, i cant talk to anyone about it people dont understand. hope you see this im lost:(

  • Well done mate. Good, positive video and you are totally genuine; that shines through.

  • I have been a part time pro/advantage gambler for 15 years. Every gambling game is an invisible monster. The first and only rule of gambling is do not bet what you can't afford to lose. Believe me, 80% or more of those pro poker players are broke half the time or more. I won 92% of the time in 2008, I'm just burnt out from gambling...I didn't even lose my global bankroll.."Very difficult"

  • the main thing is some people just arent smart enuff or responsible enuff for poker ...now slots and shit like that you should just stay away from those re games of chance ...poker is not...but you have to learn the game ...even if your not overly intelligent you can play poker well..but you have to b careful

  • I just returned from the casino where i erased another paycheck. The emotional impact of this behavior is becoming very harsh. I need to stop. I was very glad to find this frank and ACCURATE video. I think your testimony is inspiring. Thanks!

  • absolute inspiration

  • congragulations on giving yourself a chance. you are a brave man and this video is inspiring

  • Guys, gambling is a killer, a deciever and robs a normal human being of life. i lost quite a bit of money and have been staying away now for two months. i almost commited suicide over my losses...not the money but the shame i felt after working so hard, for disappointing my children, my wife, my principles. my kids stood by me, my wife did not. i suffered. i decided NOT to seek help, to go at it alone. after all, i drove there alone and left broke alone..i am determine to heal myself.

  • on a few dayd off work i just lost $300 online..i dont usuually this yet i'm really worried..am i addicted do u think?..i do wanna win it back..but my mind tells me to shut the fuck up and run away fro it?

  • I just watched your video and I need help for my now ex-boyfriend. I had to move my chilrdren and myself out of his house because his poker problem (in the past has been different types) is so out of control that he has lost everything except his house and is on the verge of that. He tells me that he is smarter than everyone else and that i dont understand the game. He is willing to lose everything to this horrible addiction. how can I convince him to talk to someone that understands better?

  • How do you know if you have a gambling problem or you just enjoy it? I enjoy playing the slot machines, but a often think about going a few months after I've been. People say it's an addiction, just because I'm gambling, but I don't spend everything I have, but I do have trouble stopping once I begin playing and I'll spend more than I intended.

  • good video!

    just shredded the casino card!

  • Great links on gambling 147heaven[.]blogspot[.]com

  • I lost 70 today 100 three days ago...I'm done.. And that's finial..

  • Nice bloke, sound advice. Gambling hurts don't start. Thank you Leroy. Just met you but you have already helped me.

  • I totally sympathize with people who have this problem. However I think the problem is not so much with gambling, but with gambling with bad odds. People make bets they know nothing about, or even the ones they know are mathematically impossible to be profitable on the long run. If you're going to gamble, you need to know learn the theory and math behind it. If you don't want to learn this, don't gamble unless you can afford to lose that money, because you will more often than not.

  • your an idiot this is real stuff and it devistates peoples lives..

  • I understand, but I'm serious. There's no need to call me an idiot. There's nothing inherently wrong with investment and risk (gamble), in fact the whole productive system of our society is based on the proper management of those 2.

  • Just look how well the bloody us economy is looking at the moment, all thanks to massive investment/derivative gambles!

  • The reason the US economy is going so badly is that the government printed a hell of a lot of money and got in major debt to fund wars and other programs.

  • I have a question, do you still get the urge to gamble after 5 years of not gambling, and if you do do you get it less often than when you were gambling.

  • i lost 500 pound today on the roullette machine, im not going back there

  • raymog that is really ignorant. Obviously this guy stands head and shoulders over small minded people like yourself.

  • I bet your mother that ur an ugly shit!!

  • your a stupid motherfucker albanero

  • why idiot, my comment is not to the guy in the video, retard !

  • i woudlt say im a compulsive gambler but ive just gambled £200 that i won from just a £1 bet and im pretty pissed off

  • casinos and bet shops are lisenced conne shops I dont know how it is possible to stop people from gambling whle this shops still exise I live in London and I recently started to gamble I lost a lot of money in gambling on roulete machins but even though I know that I its Impossible to win anything from the bet shops I still go there and loose my hard earned money,I've met people with more sad stories than I have but still go there, the only soulition is a total ban on gambeling facilities.

  • Good video, I am a compulsive gambler and have been for 20 years. It is only now I am starting to confront my demons.

  • My Man,

I appreciate your post. I'm a addicted to gambling. I bought into the poker craze and made a lot of money until the poker curve caught me and passed me. I simply cannot make anymore money; however, I was a teamster, twice, and got fired from both jobs for being late, excessively, because I was in card games late night and got little rest. I lost my fiance over it, I have a top 25 college education yet barely have an entry level job....its a disease and a serious one.

  • jhalas,i appreciate your honesty and do wish you to be gamble free, the past goes not equal the future.

  • life is a gamble

  • Hi...to me THE BEST WAY to start is excluding yourself from your local casinos stablisment and race track.......is very easy and MOST casinos managers and floor supervisor are very helpfull and show a lot of compassion for people that request to be put in the list...is very simple and help a lot....once you fill in the forms you cannot come back to the facility.....and if you want TRY IT!!! and you will have security next to you in less than 5 minutes....to take you out...THIS IS THE BEST START!

  • go terps

  • I hear ya on how you keep thinking that you need to keep gambling to eventually get your money back. More people of all walks of life are getting sucked into this addiction everyday, including me. It's total self-sabotage in the long run!

  • im 23, and gambling has ruined 4yrs of my life!!!!

    horse,poker, and casinos...

    it is not a game....

    it's death

  • The worst part of being involved in gambling is the important things that I neglected such as my job, my body and those closest to me.

  • I got hooked on No limit hold'em.. It all started with a few wins and then I started to feel compelled to go over and over again. This time I really need to stay away from there and permanently. How can I not allow myself to go back. There is a card room 2 blocks away. Everywhere I go there is a gambling establishment waiting to pull me in. I never felt this weak in my life. I have always felt in control but now I feel like I am messing up everything. Any advice is appreciated.

  • One way I stopped gambling, was I "banned" myself from all local casinos and all online casinos...Every gambling establishment has a self exclusion program and list. This is your second step after admitting to all your loved ones you have a problem.

  • I have never met anyone who quit any addiction by the help of others Only those who quit and started living again, like myself, did it on our own and by our own awakening.I found that stopping all of my dependencies (gambling, smoking)by cold turkey was nobody's decision but my own...and to gain my own respect back from have self-discipline back in my life was the key to staying clean. Exercise and eating better really brings confidence and that "feeling good again" feeling back into your life

  • Just by smoking cigarettes for 25 years at a pack a day, kept me in a state of laziness and feeling like anything "good" was too hard to achieve. So many minutes, hours, days, years of my life were wasted and lost to just smoking. And so many dollars and relationships were lost to gambling and drugs in my younger years...if anyone tells you that you have an addiction disease and you'll forever be helpless (once an addict, always an addict) THEY ARE FULL OF SHIT!

  • You will only change when you want to, or else you are dead.

I made my decision before I died...and you?

  • thanks dude,nice message

  • it feels like shit to lose and that's why I am going to try to quit for the umpteenth time, I will try the method I did to quit coke. one day at a time and no matter how bad I want to go i will not.

  • i love gambling! :-)

  • I have a gambling problem too. Whenever I lose, I want to get more money to try to win it back. When I win and do leave, as soon as I'm out of the casino all I can think about is going back, It just feels so good to hit the big win.

  • How good does it feel to leave with empty pockets?

  • I'm in debt because of an 11 year gambling problem. It's slowly ruining my life. To everyone reading, please stop before your life is ruined too.

  • We are all the same distance to the next bet. I had another slip recently. But I have to keep coming back.

  • i dont get why so many poeple lose. i only bet on sports and i do very well at it. people need to stay away from the casino games, especially online.

  • Leroy is a family member of mine and I have been there to see him at his worst and, now, at his best. I just wanted to comment on this because I'm so proud of what he's doing and the way he's giving back now to help others that are going down the road he went down.

If you're a compulsive gambler and are looking for help, please contact Leroy. I've been the facility he runs many times (to visit) and can say that it has changed the lives of many people. Good luck to you all.

  • ive been gambling4 10 years (i'm 25)-tried to quit so many times, always failing. theres nothing like the buzz from high stakes poker, but if u do win, its never enough. the problem with online gaming is that ur in your own little secret world. no1 will know what u lost & there's no cash involved, so the number on the screen has no real value- Lethal! Ive been to G.A, but found it dificult talkin out loud. my final step has been a tattoo 2remind me of my losses. I havent gambled since. nice vid.

  • Hey Westy thank you for the comment I wish you nothing but the best continue going to GA and work on yourself everyday.

  • Yeah, the online gambling accounts are killer. I made a fairly large deposit a few years back in order to get a larger bonus to bet on sports games, and get more interest on the higher dollar amount that they paid monthly. That was the only reason for my high deposit amount. Well, after going on a bad run after about a year and a half, one day I didn't want to wait till the next day's slate of games. How convenient Blackjack online! Lost control and empitied the account in about 7 hours!

  • You know the ironic thing is, I work in a casino. I see it everyday. Seriously, I have to get out of there. These people..they lose their pensions , their ss checks. Its shitty and depressing!

  • I heard that from a casino employee before. Mentioned it is very stressful to hear players saying they really need you (dealer) to turn things around for them. Must be depressing to see people get drained.

  • Ok, Kelly - so sad.

  • I hope my husband sees this..like it will matter. We will lose everything, It sucks so bad!ASSHOLE

  • He's not an Asshole ..I retract that .He is an Asshole! How are we supposed to live?

  • try and give up mate i have been gambling for 10 years and now my wife told me she doint love me any more doint get to that point with your mum

  • i am a compulsive gambler i lost £700 on a roulette machine in 2 hours i had to tell my wife and kids there was no money for a month

i need to stop so please if you watch this clipe think its not all about what you can win but what you can lose and losing respect

from your kids is as low as it gets please just stop i haven't gambled since that i need help

  • good video i think its time for me to quit too. ive gambled more money in the last 15 yrs than most people make in a lifetime. i am off work now and think it is actually making me sick.

  • Hello sorry to hear about your loss. You have to remeber one thing , you are a compulsive gambler and no matter how much you win it will never be enough. So the best thing to do is stop save your money find a hobby or if you have a family spend more time with them , and also get involved with GA , it will help People there are just like you and you can talk your internal problems with them

  • "everything I wanted when I was gambling...I never got. Now that I stopped gambling I've got it"

That's an insanely over the top....simple...but affective motivational statement.

Never heard it put that way.

    Thanks.

  • IF you do want to gamble SOME....look at your W-2 at the end of the year, play 1 to 3 percent of the W-2 NOT A PENNY MORE....that's if you got this feeling in the back of your mind that you want to take a chance to hit it "big", went to niagara falls casinos, AC, turning nearby syracuse, it's worse than any other addiction

  • online poker from partypoker and fulltiltpoker are to blame, if it wasn't for those sites, i would've never bet one dollar at a casino, i was hooked on EVERY game in the casino trying to figure out how to "beat the house" pressing bets, betting 50/50 odds, fact is you will lose big...AND GO AGAIN...guess what, if you think it's sane to make money at a casino, you are insane, labor is key to a successful life financially,

  • Great video man.

thanks for offering to help people out.

    sucess to you

  • Dude, total respect that was Realness.

  • I said today is the last day for me too, im 28 is ten years im gambling and im ruinedm loosing the money of the rent and sometimes not even 1 euro, but i used to charge in poker online even 1200$ per night.. i will start with a doctor... i will stop it

  • 5 yrs good job mate!

  • You reading from a script.....

  • Yeah easy isnt it mate...fine words just how deep were you into it $100 $200 dollars a week wow?? prick!!

You make it sound so fucking easy been clean for 5 years fuck off

  • hey goutee it wasnt easy and it still isnt easy, i was homeless for a while and had no where to turn to, but once i stopped gambling for a period of time thngs started to work theirselves out

  • Congratulations, Leroy. Keep it up. Do you mind if I ask what your game of choice was?

  • hello Binny thanks for the comment I run a treatment facility that only deals with compulsive gamblers please feel free to contact me with any other info you might need

  • Hi, I too have come to realise I am a compulsive gambler. A lot of people do not realise that Compulsive gambling is a progressive Illness. To The user who posted that they never got addicted then thats great. I am not anti gambling but there are some people who do get hooked and do need help.I attend G.A. Meetings every week and have found them to be a godsend. Since joining I gone 4 months without gambling taking it a day at a time.

  • Leroy that is awesome you are giving back in any way that you can. You do seem really happy. I've been able to stop for a couple of months max, but then one week I'll just get that itch again and inevitably return. I get such a rush when I put a wager in it's indescribable (probably like a drug junkie). I know gambling has killed my relationships with family, friends, and ex-fiance though. I'd love to talk further. Cheers mate!

  • I need the help !..Can u give me some advice, how did u recover?.i ve been gambling for 15years and have nothing now ..so embarrased about that .

  • keep it up man

  • wow this is great
