I went to Valdy's one man concert at Acadia University in the 70's. Best concert I ever attended . He packed the place and had everyone on their feet. I remember some people who went with us were disappointed he didn't have a band with him .. Valdy, being the great performer he is sure changed their minds in a hurry. Thank you Valdy for being you and thank you for sharing !

Simple, heartfelt, good music

I first heard Valdy's hit "Simple Life" playing on Canadian radio stations in 1973. It etched a music worm in my mind when I was dating the gal who became my wife. In the late 80s, Valdy played intimate venues, and small theater settings in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where I was stationed. Twice my wife and I went to see him, in Winnipege, and the opening act was a local group from a high school where our oldest attended. They were very good, and had an unusual name: The Crashtest Dummies. True.

quick story about Valdy..my friends and i were chattin it up in front of the stage before a concert in PRINCE GEORGE,B.C. with an older guy (i was 22 back then).He was basically interested in what we thought about the artist and so on...he said 'well enjoy the concert guys',walked up the stairs to the stage,picked up a guitar and started singin'.....man were we blown away!!!
