  • She was doing around 55-60MPH.

  • Nice shot, I got her North near here.

  • Well they put the diesels on for several reasons to supply power for the cars, in case if the engine breaks down they can handle the train, and for dinamic breaking.

  • They should take the crappy diesels off. It's capable of moving completely under it's own powwer....

  • They are required by the Federal Railroad Administration to go down a steep hill like Miramar Grade with a locomotive with Dynamic brakes to reduce the stress of the Air Brakes on the steam engines. Back in the day steam engines had to stop to cool their brake shoes. Today it would cause a traffic jam on the rail lines like the San Diego Corridor.
