  • I used to do this with my grandma.

  • 1:34 mistake in 2004 version... no backpack then backpack

  • Something about Yoda just sitting there poking at the dirt with his cane makes me smile.

  • "I shall assume full responsibility for losing them and apologize to lord vader"................ good luck with that ;)

  • @petrucciphan Haha. I know. If i was the other guy hearing him say that, I would just stare at him with a remorseful pity look on my face like "'Dude, you're so gonna diiiiiieeeee".

  • I recently watched phantom menace and came to this conclusion. Most of the annoying characters/aspects in this movie are digital. I feel that if you visually replaced the digital characters and had them speak a different language with subtitles, the prequels might actually work. I think that even if you just took out the english language for the digital characters and replaced it with an unknown foreign language (or beeps for droids).. the movies would be greatly improved. Both would be great!

  • 1:33 necessary?

  • I loved this particular episode of the series. It came out when i was in Jr. High school. sadly, it's lost it's impact with age.

  • to be fair having it on blue-ray at all out weighs the changes they made.

  • I still have questions about whether that place where Luke encountered himself looking like Vader was a natural part of the landscape of Dagobah, or if Yoda was altering his mind, so he could learn from that experience. Both ideas are frightening.

  • @noddwyd Would Yoda do that?? A good way to see if it was natural would be to see if anywhere else in the StarWars mythology there is anything else like it.

  • Was the blue tint of the 2004 versions also in the original theatrical releases found in the 2008 set (the blue box)?

  • @TieLandProductions no, the blue tint was only added for the DVD/Blu-ray versions of the special edition. the blue tint wasn't even there in the original 1997 version of the special editions. it was only added when they came out on DVD

  • @adywanuk Instead of arguing about Star Wars, I'd like to say that I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you loved your dad alot, and miss him greatly. May he rest in peace. ^^

  • @adywanuk Although slightly ironically the Special Editions introduced a weird pink tint to the footage that was removed in the 2004 DVD.

  • they need to make yoda CGI in the original saga

  • @Nintendo0994 The hell they do.

  • (0:51) "....Well, yeah"

  • The lightsaver has a darker bluish.

  • @maleiva only if you go by the colours in the prequels. The lightsabres in the Original trilogy were always a lighter blue hue

  • @adywanuk is that not because of the color correction problems they had, like how in the original Luke's lightsaber is shown as a light blue but was intended to be green?

  • @maleiva lightsaver!? LOL

  • Say what you want about Lucas and his new Star Wars films and edits, but at least he's very generous with what people are allowed to do with his copyrighted work.

  • At 6:45 you can see the Millenium Falcon moving in a different direction in the Revisit version lol

  • Ole BOSK the bounty hunter survived all the Lucas tweaks and changes. Steady as a rock BOSK oh yeah.

  • I don't like Yoda I like princes Lea

  • Did the old Super Star Destroyver always have that orange hue on its side? Either way, that wasw a nice and pretty realisti change. Can't wait til you are done with the OT series.

  • i understand why they changed the colors in the dagobah scenes. the green-blueish hues correspond to the humid, damp conditions of a jungle swamp and just give it the right feel, in my opinion. your version (and the original as well?) look too "dry" in comparison.

however in the end, i'm against ANY changes on the original. i don't see the point. everyone knows that those movies are 30 years old, why is it necessary to adjust them to look modern or to better fit the new episodes?

  • is there any way to add a bit of an orange glow to the neck of the vader mask to make it look singed from a lightsaber hit.

  • I love your work overall, but to be honest I prefer the darker colouration in the swamp scenes... Can I make a suggestion? In your amazing revisit of IV, the first scene in which the Falcon jumps to light speed, I turned my hi-fi up expecting an awesome boom and the sound turned out to be rather flat and unimpressive. Any chance of that changing in future releases? I think it'd make those scenes much more exciting

  • Great Job! Do you also plan to do a revisited version of ROTJ? If not maybe you can only redo the Sarlacc. Everytime I see this scene with the poor improvements I just want to burst into a song, because it reminds of the Musical "Little Shop of Horrors".

  • You did a fine job, better than those idiots at Lucasfilms. It looks much better. And it's more faithful to Irvin Kershner's vision of the film.

  • im happy with the return to bob's original voice, however as much as it pains me to say, it fits in better with the NT if retains his aussie accent from Jango, unless he moved away as he grew up and gained a new accent to forget his horrible past with his dad getting his head chopped off and everything. ha

  • 1:32 what's under Yoda in the revisited version that isn't there in the DVD version? I don't even know what that is...

  • @viperhalberd

    It's Luke's backpack.

  • I'm not sure about the new mouth movements of Yoda. His lips now move in a sort of way that feels rather of CGI. I understand the reasoning, I'm just not sure if the technique used here is refined enough to look appropriately realistic.

  • As much as I enjoy the changes you've made, you have to remember that in dark areas where the light from the sun can't reach very well, everything gets a more blue colour scheme, since it is on the far end of the spectrum. Although the 2004 version might have gone a bit overboard, you have simply just killed all the blue colour and made the colour ambience of the scene more neutral. I would suggest finding a middle ground between these two versions, if you wish to make it look more realistic.

  • original looks better

  • @Robotdrummerzzk yeh right, Yoda was always supposed to be neon green or even blue and Luke always wore a green outfit. It's a shame that people have actually forgotten what these films were supposed to have looked like before the 2004 DVD set colour cock-up

  • @adywanuk actually mate, i was watching it on a shitty small screen laptop. watched it again on a better pc when going through your emperor stuff (which is quality) and it does indeed look better. so fair play. I don't really agree with some of your ANH edits though. But in general you do an outstanding job

  • @adywanuk i think the original looks better because the environment is a little more colorful but it makes the characters look really bad but the death star is not blue so your version is better there

  • @adywanuk Yoda is not "neon green" in the official DVD, instead the whole scene has a color cast, that's a completely different thing. I have to agree with the others, though... the color cast was deliberate and added nice ambience to the murky, mossy scene. Color grading is there for a reason, and while I love your work, I'd rather you didn't entirely remove the grading. Even in real life, ambient light has different colors depending on weather and time of day. Don't just grey everything out :(

  • @Jonboy2312 in many shots yoda HAS become a neon sort of green. All i am doing is returning the movies colour to how it ORIGINALLY looked before the messed up colouring of the 2004/blu-ray versions. The colour grading done for the DVD & Blu-Ray versions is horrendous. Even people who actually worked on the film have stated just how messed up the colour grading is. The colou does look a lot different and very washed out on the youtube videos for some reason compared to how it actually looks.

  • @adywanuk Oh I understand what your intention is :) And I'm sure the final colors will be better than the compressed youtube rendition. But I still wish you'd keep a little bit of color grading. I mean, re-do it better (more subtle than the heavy-handed Lucasfilm approach). Taking grading out completely makes Dagobah look more like... a hangar in Elstree Studios with a water pond, fog machines and a perfectly white-balanced lighting rig ;-) nitpicking aside, I just can't wait to see this :D

  • @Robotdrummerzzk Neither version shown here is the original. Lucas doesn't want you to see that.

  • What's the point of this? Hardly any difference between the two.

  • If feel sorry about your dad.

  • The Lizard has an extra eye in the Revisited footage i think... it's at 3:20.

  • @1UpGamers yes, you are partly correct. It has 2 extra eyes each side

  • Has anyone watched this with closed captioning turned on transcribing the audio? Funny as hell

  • @adywanuk "Dishes out !"

  • @adywanuk hahahah when yoda says "mmmm" it translates as "van"

  • @adywanuk yes! LOL

  • I just noticed a mistake at 5:30 it's actually dengar's backpack, but boba fett was on IG-88's left side not dengar.

  • @indyclonejr No, It isn't a mistake. You can notice that IG-88 is closer to the camera so Boba Fett would be behind the camera here and Dengar would be in that position. Just check earlier so you can see the position of all the bounty hunters

  • @adywanuk Yes but Dengar just comes out of nowhere and you don't see him in the shot next to IG-88 or Boba

  • @indyclonejr @indyclonejr he is just off camera when vader is talking to Boba. It's all to do with camera angles. He is there and can be seen earlier. Check his original position and then you can see that he would just be out of shot. He doesn't just appear out of nowhere. Also check the position of IG-88 in the final shot where we now see Dengar and you can see he is facing the camera. This is not a mistake

  • I'm sorry about you loosing your dad. I lost my mom a few years back, I know how hard it can be.

    Peace.

  • Condolences to you and family from your fans here in Santa Barbara, Ca.

Outstanding work as always Ady! Being a die hard Fett fan, I loathe the re-dub. I miss that original dirty harry rasp! Fett looks amazing color corrected! Thank you!

  • also great work. your father would be (or must be) very proud

  • sorry for your loss. just a pointer, i think that you should switch boba's voice back to the 2004 one. lucas changed it because its the same voice as jangos. only reasonable considering boba is an unaltered clone of jango, therefore they should have the same voice. my apologies to anyone who liked the original better, but i think its one more thing that should stay as is to fit in with the prequels. (yes i know alot of yall didnt like the prequels, but i honestly didnt think they were THAT bad)

  • @fogell359

The problem is that in the prequels, Bobba didn't have an accent, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to switch the voices.

  • @mtoole94 really? i thought i heard somewhat of an accent O_o he didnt have many lines tho, so it was kinda hard to pick up

  • @fogell359 The new voice was one of the biggest errors Lucas made. Just because he is a clone (which he won't be in my prequel:revisited editions) doesn't mean he would have the same accent as an adult. I had a strong Birmingham accent because i lived there until i was 11, but i moved away from there and no longer have that accent. He would not sound the same as Jango. The prequels should have been made to fit in with the OT and not the other way around

  • @adywanuk good point :) but ive had a question lingering in my mind for a while, and that is: Could Lucas have made the prequels fit in perfectly with the OT AND made them really good? in my view, the prequels actually did fit in good enough with the OT, when i first saw them, i thought it was perfect, but over the years ive realized a few little things here and there. but i think that lucas tied in what was important to say the least, im not too worried about the small things..

  • I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Ady. Your dedication to making these truly impresses me, keep up the great work!

  • Sorry to hear about your Dad, especially with it being Fathers day this weekend.. I`m a lone parent and my son made me promise i have to live beyond 1,000.. Really looking forward to watching the finished filme with my son on a big screen, you really should be getting an LFL paycheck!!!!!. My only question.. How come at 1:35 everything is in sync apart from Yoda?, are you keeping the focus off him to hide the comparison of "latex puppet" versus CGI??

  • @angriestangel666 not sure what you mean by it's off sync

  • @adywanuk I think he means that everything is the same in the shot except Yoda. It should have been obvious that you moved Yoda to where he appears to be sitting in the following shots.

I can't imagine having to account for every little change you make to hundreds of people.

Many condolances and keep on keepin' on.

  • @angriestangel666 he was fixing a continuity error, because in the 2004 version yoda jumps between shots from being stood up to being sat on a log next to the backpack, and in the revisited version he's sitting on the log the whole time. pretty awesome!

  • Sorry about your loss, this is a great tribute to all wise men

  • That's sad news Adywan.

May the force be with you!

  • So much better than the original.

  • Condolences

  • never noticed it before: at 5:03 officer pushed a button on the panel and it bent.

  • Your father is in a better place, I'm sorry for your loss. Your work is an excellent tribute to him, it looks amazing.

  • I'm sorry for you adiwan for personal experience.

  • Sorry about your loss man, I'm sure he'll be watching over you do INCREDIBLE work to the trilogies. I look forward to the day I can watch all three with my kids and tell them that this is "Star Wars Proper"

  • why is the original footage, apparently, passed through a green filter? What was the studio doing? Without sounding dismissive about the work you have done, they should have done this anyway! It's akin to breaking into to someone's house and fixing their washing machine.

  • I'm sorry for your loss Adywan. Keep up the amazing work. I look forward to seeing the finished product of ESB: Revisited, which to me and many other true Star Wars fans will be considered the definitive edition of this great classic.

  • Condolences
