  • Aluminum is electric not magnetic reactive. The electric field is reacting to the aluminum and not the magnetic field. They exhibit the same effect but they are completely different. The magnetic field is not the only field present in a magnetic substance.

  • How is this happening if aluminum isn't magnetic? Is there a Ferris material underneath it?

  • The metal doesn't need to be magnetic just conductive, so aluminium works. The magnet moving over the aluminium induces a current in the aluminium and causes a force that resists motion.
