  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • @mLovelady30 preach somewhere else

  • I thought of the perfect live version to this song as an ending to shows. as soon as the ending ( the rain drop starts, they starts it out with phil just singing, and on every rise another member joins in, until finally yorke starts singing for the last set of "raindrops"

  • This song is powerful :0

  • my previous comment deserves to be top comment

  • Radiohead

  • You can Fine this on "the most gigantic lying mouth of all time"

  • Where can I find a higher quality version of this?

  • More surprises, please. Like this one. :)

  • it really sucks :P

  • @KaasDano Gowayplease

  • Radiohad said that Hail to the thief was like a fairytale. You can see in the video for There There that they went for a Brothers Grimm type of look. The title 'Sit Down / Stand Up' arguably has a kind of Lewis Carroll 'Eat me / Drink me' feel to it. It is said that Pulk Pull Revolving Doors was inspired by Alice in wonderland. Obviously have to mention that Lewis Carroll lived in Oxford like Radiohead did.

  • This video gave me an xtc flashback rush all through my body because its exactly what I used to see when I would be riding home from dallas after going to a rave rollin my balls off smokin weed in the car trippin out on all the lights from the buildings and street lights..........damn.

  • @Riftkidthewizard Oh god...weed and Radiohead...have mercy...lead me not into temptation...lol

  • @happyghost2011 haha dude I have no words to insult you and your screwed thing of a brain enough, oh and you can think what you want but please, don't use idiotic made up facts. OOH POOR WHITES WHO SLAVED BLACKS FOR CENTURIES AND NOW THEY ARE VICTIMS OF THOSE FIEND EXCUSES OF A HUMAN BEING BECAUSE THEY'VE GOT THE SAME RIGHT THAN US!!

but you know what? I've always wanted to meet a racist to know what's going on in their minds what ya think about mexicans??

  • @etejuanete3 I think they drink too much beer and tequila, nasty as fuck, always have a pit bull, throw trash in their yards and play tejano music on a 10 inch subwoofer at midnight cause they are fuckin retarded.

  • The Raindrops

  • that piano line... pure genius

  • @etejuanete3 It's Jonny's Guitar with the Whammy Pedal... using one octave up +original pitch.

  • @MileswillDo nope. watch the live version

  • @etejuanete3 Yes it is, I have all of Radiohead's albums official sheet music, and I love playing this and We Suck Young Blood...

  • @Kidamneziac hahaha yep such an underrated song, just like this one, but I'm talking about the piano line Thom's playing in the live version

  • @happyghost2011 I'm not wasting my time with a video of someone who type "protect white people"... I'm not sure, but I bet you're an asshole, anyways... please stop listening to Radiohead you're way out of line. Have a nice day.

  • i've always wondered what city this video was made in

  • please quit comparing coldplay to the supreme god's of music. coldplay is just average alternative, radiohead pushes the boundries of music and continue to push them.

  • HEY!

  • probably the most awesome video to watch when stoned. radiohead <3

  • This is my fav video ever

  • It is really unnecessary to criticize other artists/bands. Face it, everyone has different music interests and you just got to respect that..

  • holy shiet it's playing with my ears......is this even happening..it is..I understand now.

  • EARFUCKINGASM

  • my father played this band in his car from a young age, i grew to learn and love every word of every song.

we have now travelled to Milan, Manchester, Dublin, Reading and other places to witness them live. i say witness because when you watch Radiohead its not just the music it is also visual and feeling. Standing with those subs blasting out the bass moves you into the music, which already has deep enough feeling in itself.

I love Radiohead!!!... even their old stuff.pablo honey - you.

    X

  • the rain drops

  • am i tripping lol

  • its one of the greatest band ever

  • on a hannah montanna episode they compare radio head with cold play , they SHOULD NOT do that ever

  • @klarissaliviah they shouldn't even talk about Radiohead in a show like that...

  • Maybe I just pay way too much attention to detail, but at 1:04 there is a band of lights that has a color scheme very close to that of the Hail to the Thief album cover.

  • @DDball duuuude good call! It would appear to be a coincidence though

  • @DDball I spotted it too !!!! I wanted to make pause to see more clearly but it's not really a HD video, so I didn't even try

  • This song has a video? O.O

  • advert :/

  • We can wipe you out anytime.

  • OWOWOWOW!! Loud advertisement...my ears. >.<

  • i do love radio always have always will :)

  • My friends and I (HUGE Radiohead fans) point our fingers at each other (like pistols) and pretend to fire our space guns at each other from 4:05 onwards until the end of the track! Listen out for them, they are there!!

  • coldplay... a-ha lovers! that's their best quality :)) peace r'heads!

  • This is what you get when you cross a protest song with a haiku

  • The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindrops The Raindr

  • walk into the jaws of hell anytime..........we are angels we are raindrops

  • walk into the jaws of hell anytime..........we are angels

  • 3:04 Power Rangers Power Rangers Power Rangers Power Rangers Power Rangers Power Rangers Power Rangers...

  • @visualmethod Hahah you beat me to it.

  • @visualmethod hahahaha

  • @visualmethod nice you just ruined my favorite part of the song lol XD

  • @visualmethod GODDAMN IT, now I can't stop saying it :(

  • @visualmethod Youre right.....I said this about 5 years ago on you tube and no one agreed. Its obvious this song (and much of the album) is about the Bush Admin. The words cleverly disguised underneath "the raindrops"

  • @visualmethod ROFL!!!!!!!!

  • @visualmethod Ha Ha, that's too funny...

  • omg I REALLY regret buying a whole Muse and Coldplay album now XD;

They are nothing compared to Hail to the thief, or any of their albums...

  • @zoom1508 I don't think Muse is on the same level as Radiohead but they are certainly a lot better than Coldplay. Coldplay's a joke

  • the rain drops the rain drops

  • N.1 EVER

  • Mighty Morphing Power Rangers! :D

  • Radiohead is one of my two favorite bands but the end of this song is so over the top its hilarious.

  • @sushilll111 Not "Live", sounds fucking great, you are hilarious...

  • those fucking raindrops. they keep me up all night.

  • Why do people play politics with music? you like what you like end of!

  • who dislikes this they have no soul

  • fuck! now all i hear is "power rangers" instead of "the raindrops"!~

    thanks a lot, pal! lol!

  • Power Rangers, Power Rangers, Power Rangers, Power Rangers, Power Rangers, Power Rangers!

  • lol to be honest. i love both bands a lot. now as a musician i can't help but be insane about Radiohead who definitely comes out with entire albums i like to listen to as opposed to coldplay who doesn't have full album enjoyability lol but still Coldplay does great things from time to time.

  • i settled down and now, what of the odds, i like both groups, Coldplay and Radiohead!

  • I first heard of Coldplay not Radiohead.I thought they were brilliant. But then, one day I opened my eyes for the first time,Ever since, everything other than Radiohead sounds like shit.

  • hey man radiohead may be better than coldplay creatively and in other ways for sure but coldplay's first album Parachutes is incredible- it's their life's work! but... i will admit that hail to the thief is better in an eery way.

  • always thought the end/coda was; it's for ur interest . sounds more cool, in my opinion. i.e. sit down, stand up(do what we say) its in your interest, its for your interest. we can wipe you out anytime.

i dont know i think its cool

  • anhyone can like Radiohead you fuckers. It's alearning curve. Music; for me; as you get olde needs to have more depth. I have always hated Coldplay but for fucks sake, we can't all be the same otherwise we would all be drowning like the Pyramid Song hey fucksticks

  • The end of this song is REALLY intense, I would play it real loud in my car at night, told them to close their eyes and once it was done Radiohead turned their brains into mush.

  • 3:04 - 4:16 "Power Rangers" =]

  • If you like Coldplay and Radiohead, then you really don't like Radiohead.

  • @k1ssinger truth

  • I'm sorry, I didn't catch it.... What drops?

  • @comedicgenius2 He's saying "the raindrops"

  • @twinwoodsman I'm being sarcastic :P

  • I would literally cry for humanity if Thom Yorke died. People won't know his impact until long after his death, that's the sad part. Luckily, he will become a legend in the history of sound.

  • @Warhawk101 I had a nightmare about that the other night. D: But somehow in the dream I went back in time and prevented it. XD I was so depressed about the idea when I woke up though, seriously.

  • Radiohead rule this earth, the faster you figure it out the better off you'll be.

  • i can't freaken watch this video

  • w-wait...when did a radiohead song become a vegetarian debate?

Christ Youtube commenters are retarded sometimes.

In the spirit of unrelated debate, I'll start a new one. ZOMG GOD DOESNT EXIST LOLOLOLO!!!11!1!

I'll let you guys pick up from there.

  • @cod66666666 it's the illuminati duuuuuude. nine eleven. and whatnot.

  • @cod66666666 WTF OMG GOD DOES EXIST!!!1!!1!ONE

ROHYP'LOL!!!!!!111 But yeah, Youtube should really be called Debatetube or Arguetube. :)

  • @cod66666666 OMG i totally agrere with u god doesn't exist. There is no debate.

  • love this song

  • you do NOT compare radiohead to coldplay. ever.

  • @erkmichealson someone hates Coldplay : )

  • @erkmichealson Why not? Then you can get clearer on what's good about both. Maybe one is even "better" in terms of the most important purposes of art, etc. Eh?

  • no plz... dont compare... there is no place in earth to compare coldplay with radiohead... coldplay is only interested on making money till "a rush of blood to the head" xDDD

  • @Radiolagarto Is your contention that "Coldplay is only interested in making money" based on your close personal relationship with the band? How do you know them so well, especially since you seem to dislike their music so much? Seems more likely that you have no idea what you're talking about. Admit it... you'd give up everything to have their money, fame, success, etc., etc. Instead, you're just a lonley whiner living in your mom's basement, bitching about Coldplay. Sad.

  • @smarterthananyone God a Coldplay's Bitch! No offense.

  • Radiohead is the best thing that happened to music starting from the 90s

  • holy shit i was not ready for 3:04 grabbed me by the nuts

  • yeah coldplay isn't even comparable to radiohead in my mind. radiohead is just amazing. coldplay is alright

  • this song is clearly a poor attempt at simon says

  • what? coldplay? i agree that radiohead are like a roast dinner in that there so damn good but coldplay are awful. there second album was ok but to even mention them in the same breath as radiohead is an insult. there a gone off fruit salad next to radiohead.

i dont like coldplay in a l like to draw squares and write on my hands and arms to try and make a ststement kind of way.

  • @jamesscott27 your opinion if you don't like coldplay but some people do. learn to spell and to consider that it's an opinion whether or not you like a band, not a fact. fucking moron.

  • I'm from L.A. and I used to drive around drinking listening to RH, especially this song. If you can imagine "living" in the music video, that's pretty much how it is. Sorry to all you MADD folk, but the world is epic when you drink and drive.

  • LA. Hell yeah.

  • 0:00

  • i love the song but the video doesn't fit how epic the song is.

  • genial

  • as I said before this isn't a war to defend.. even a mouse fights when backed into a corner.. not our fight.

  • I haven't heard this song in a while, good stuff :3

  • Sit down before you go into the jaws of HELL. Wake up people it's happening! Thats what they are singing about. Before you know we'll be told when to eat, sleep, sit, stand or take a shit. But O Moochelle can have a burger and fries but they want all of us and our kids to eat what they order us to. Think people and WAKE UP

  • All the so-called music lovers, who just want "everyone to stop arguing and just enjoy the music," must stop inculcating their assumption that all music is equal to the unwitting majority. It simply is not. Music criticism begins with this realization. Eventually, we must be able to say that Coldplay is better than Radiohead or Radiohead better than Coldplay. When we just throw up our hands before the idol of our "enjoyment", we all lose.

  • @MrMucas But that will never happen will it? Not everyone is going to agree on who is the more distinctive band, and there will always be people who will have different views. So thus saying 'everyone stop arguing and just enjoy the music' leads people to have their own private views, without the patronism of someone else.

SO everyone just be quiet, Thom is trying to sing ;)

  • @Gandalf4173 Regardless of whether or not it will happen, the idea that all music is equal endangers the art of musical criticism, as practiced by the professionals and by the amateurs. Better that people realize that criticism must occur and accidentally overstate their arguments than just sit still in apathy, excusing and granting all music an equal footing.

  • @MrMucas i agree with the other guy. why would you listen to music if you didn't enjoy it!? what kind of freak does that!?

  • @wearebackdrifting I like Radiohead. I was saying nothing about not enjoying Radiohead in the previous comments. I think they're one of the better bands out there. Engaging in musical criticism, of course, does not preclude the possibility of enjoying music either. Ideally, it augments enjoyment, sharpening and refining it.

  • @MrMucas Alright stop talking bollocks. No music is better than any other because we invented it ourselves, music is a human invention and so we perceive it how we want to. Yes, enjoy music because you want to. Fuck musical criticism, it's what stops bands like this from happening because it restricts any progression and instead says what is "good" what is "bad", what is "better" what is "worse". I pity those who can only fully enjoy something only when they're told it's good.
