  • hey what's the name of the brain part @ 0:53 ? i cant catch it

  • @ziba89 Ventral tegmental area

  • nice one

  • MAKE MOAR!!!!!

  • LOL...love is nothing more but chemicals...enough said.

  • @ImperatorDerGalaxis You make it seem as though because it can be understood that it is therefore meaningless. In my opinion the scientific perspective of love is way more romantic, and more individualized than the more traditional notions of "love". Though, it is understandable how some people are put off by the mystery aspect being gone.

  • i dont understand why people want to put something supernatural in love. love is well explaned by science, ist no enugh that the garden is butiful do we have to belive that theres fearys under it.

  • fucking campers! LOL

Yeah, that's love... obsessive thinking :)

  • It's called a hard on

  • I hear meth gives you more pleasure than an orgasm... yes i want to do drugs -_-

  • Um, wow. Thanks for leaving out all the ones who aren't "straight".

  • @ItsCalledAZombie

That's a very good point, but the science is the same, except you end up cheating nature if you think about it... but we're not likely to go extinct any time soon so that doesn't matter.

  • "somebody's camping in your head"

fucking campers lol all i could think about.. TAKES NO SKILL

  • @xCr0nus lol

    LAAGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

    WOW WHAT A NOOB TOOBER

  • "Anthropologist Helen Fisher teaches us what love looks like in the brain."

We all know what it looks like in the pants.

  • @RadarGuideVermin Haha well said!!

    Love = Orgasms....end of story...Giggles.

  • Just watching this released dopamine. Damn, I need a woman. lol

  • good info...

  • Anyone know what song starts playing at 1:43?

  • I read the description, and the first thing i shouted out was 'BABY DON'T HURT ME!'

  • lmfao

  • @coocoobumbum yeah!!!, me to!!!!

  • And love only exists between a man and a woman, as this commercial amply demonstrates.

  • 99% of the time, yes.

  • No.... they are synonymous buddy.

norepi and noradrenaline are the exact same thing, they are just called different names, for example England calls it noradrenaline.

unless my years at Vandy SOM has gotten in completely wrong.

  • Ouch. Go easy man. I'm not questioning your education I was just saying I thought they were different and I even gave you the benefit of the doubt. And even apologized in advance if I was wrong.

No need to get all defensive over such a trivial matter. Geez, wind down a bit Einstein.

  • Okie dokie

  • God people are stupid.

Look dopamine and norepi (or also called noradrenaline) act in different ways in different parts of the body.

You can't just take a dopamine or norepi pill straight up. They are rapidly degraded in by stomach acid, then peptidases in your duodenum (small intestines) rendering them ineffective.

Furthermore, water-solube, peptide hormones cannot cross the blood-brain barrier readily (both of these are peptide hormones.

GL w/ getting them to target the ventral tegmental area

  • cause catecholamines don't just target the "pleasure" center of your brain. They act profusely.

You'll like to know overdose in the synthetic drug L-dopa, causes acute psychosis characterized by schizophrenic-like symptoms,

  • Actually norepinephrine and noradrenaline are two distinct neurotransmitters. LOL! Unless you were talking about a type of medication called norepi, then mea culpa.

  • Comment removed

  • i don't care if everything she said is true i wont believe it. saying everything you feel about something is just science is fucking gay. its like their way of saying there is no such thing as a soul.

  • @JonahCorn She wasn't saying it's just science. She was just saying there is a few scientifically explainable reasons for what happens.

Humans are just like any other animal. If we didn't NEED something to survive as a species, then we wouldn't have it, so whever something exists, people seek for why, and how it happens. It's not making love look any less wonderful, it's just explaining that there are things that happen when you are in love. Science is about finding the "why" and "how".

  • Now I know I'm inlove :D

  • Thats why I get all the babes..

I use a Dopeamine and Norepinephrine deoderant..

  • where can i buy dopamine

  • Detroit, the ghetto.

  • Hydrocodone helps release dopamine in the body... also known as Vicodin. Of course, if you take it for too long your body stops producing dopamine on its own.

  • you cant purchase dopamine haha its a natural chemical that is produced in the brain. You can get medication to increase or decrease the production of dopamine

  • Shakes and a dry mouth!!!

Jack Daniels does that to me!!

  • Hi, my name is Dr Helen Fisher. Im an anthropolgist and i just love it doggy style..

  • Very interesting, but why is this on the history channel?

  • What is love though is it sex or attraction? Chemicals compounds attract and repeals certain elements. They bond. I am sure this love this emotional attachment exists. Why do we value unscientific emotions anyway? Are humans that irrational?

  • Love is purely emotional. There is nothing scientific about love. It's just an animalistic reaction to erotic stimuli.

  • That's why they call it dopamine.

  • don't know never fell in love before.

  • According to this we're not normal? Fuck them.

  • oh x( did she say that?

  • why so heteronormative?

  • Geezee how come love is so annoyingg bouncess from one person to the other and bounces back to the first one...

  • I believe love is the aftermath of attraction. There are different forms of love. You can be IN LOVE, meaning it's not reciprocated, you can truely love someone, meaning both parties feel that way, and CARE for each other. (Even if you're in love with someone doesn't mean you will give them your liver, for example, or take a bullet for them.)

  • Sorry I meant being in love is not NECESSARILY reciprocated, but it's' not at that point where you deeply CARE for them. Care and Love are two different things, but when combined = a very powerful true love.

  • I think this happens because the feeling of attachment and connectiong grows immensely. I think it's even possible to be less attracted to someone (physically, or mentally, or both) as you stay managamous to one person, but you can still deeply love them. Overtime you get used to each other, and lose that feeling of anxiety and excitement but you still feel attached and care for them greatly and need them in your life.

  • You speak emotionally. You seem to describe the simple act of chemical bonding as romantically as possible. It's just magnetization. Why attach romance to that.? Science is cold and hard there is no room for emotion or romance. Science is desexualized. The search for truth. The search for reality.

  • Umm .. actually.. I was explaining to someone else how love is not some fairy tail thing, it's simply chemicals. There is a REASON for our CHOICE though. You don't just start feeling chemical reactions for no damn reason. I was correcting someone in saying that attraction is the same thing as love to your brain. Love is a word we made up. You should read better. You don't know wtf you're talking about, you're just agreeing with me and don't even realize it.

  • fairy tail? like tinkerbell's butt? lol

  • It's not love if it's not reciprocated. It's rejection.

What does rejection have to do with organ donation or the secret service?

  • But love are forms of results of the chemicals in our brain, the dopamine, and the anxiety from feeling an exceptional attraction towards someone; whether it be partly due to physical qualities or paratly from the excitement we feel that we have mentally connected with someone. (Having things in common, for example.)

  • i do not believe this is love. what shes describing is ATTRACTION yes?

  • Attraction is a form of love. Love is no more than biological. It's not a definition in fairytale land. Everything we feel, and for the reason that we fall in love is due to chemicals in our brain.

  • Chemical compounds have no love, They just bond through some sort of magnetization.

Why can't we manipulate those chemicals to feel the way we want to feel without drugs or bodily harm? If it's just chemicals in a binary system shouldn't manipulating people be easy?

  • Goddamn ,love sux ! lol I dont want to think about her anymore.Stupid chemicals in my stupid brain. I was better off not being in love, cause she dont love me back.=(

  • how many people use this internet

    it is my first day

  • you feel love in your heart, no? why so much thought to it? You can prove love with science as much as you can prove art with science.

  • wow so 60% of couples aren't really in love there just doped up lol and kids are just releasing hormones so they think they are in love it explains so much

  • 0:10 luv it1

  • She doesn't know what she's talking about.

  • i sorta think this made me feel like whoah! so that means my girlfriend is not my true love? ill never get a true love...

  • so when you are gay you brain is fucked up?

  • It really depends on what your body physically wants as a mating partner...

Or i think your just evil.

  • well m not gay but my uncle is

  • No such thing as love.

  • hey.. what do you know? love is a chemical reaction..

  • i wonder if theres a way to active those chemical in someones body without even triggering it? like force activation .....uhm..........

  • @rickiex there is, its called cocaine

  • Like a Jedi? :P

  • @rickiex drugs make you release a mess of dopamine, seritonin, and norepinephrine.. Other stuff to. I would consider that force activation.

  • doodhvntueverseenduhmatrix??!

  • Its called Ecstasy.

  • actually you were second... lol

  • So that's how love works...
