I'm fine with the /kana/ , it's the /kanji/ that gets me . I mean , I've learned a handful of kanji b/c of manga that uses furigana (HOORAY FOR FURIGANA !!!!) but since there are around 2,500 kanji in common usage ..............

So , the best I can do for you is this :

Actually , there's some katakana after the first kanji , but it's the 'tsu' , unless I mistake my guess , which just cuts off words sometimes , like a punctuation and is basically silent (like , 'Kyaaaa !' is actually written 'Kyaaaaaatsu !') and that's what it's doing here since it's at the end (if it's in the middle of the word , it just makes the sound before it slightly longer and is written in romanji with double consonants (i.e. nandatte)

The 'naani' is just 'nani' with the 'a' drawn out
