Wake up America! The administration is using this to point fingers away from themselves and create class warfare. Divide and conquer. Don't let it happen.
you are wrong.the socialist point of wiev you have doesn´t go any way.the real problem in US finance is the FED ann not the bank. the culprit of this subprime mes is the bill Democrat congressmen pased throught wich enabled poor people without credit to purchase and own a house. The FED took down the interest rate to =0 so the people could borrow cheap money. that action took also the price houses to the moon because of especulative reason. listen to peterSchiff or Ron Paul instead of Obama
Rich Fairbank doesn't receive salary or bonus (he hasn't since 1997). He is compensated only in options. Incidentally, COF also put out a press release 2/4/09 stating Fairbank will not be able to cash out any equity rewards until the Treasury Department no longer holds any preferred shares in COF.
The video is misleading -- the $17MM wasn't tax payer money, but options he cashed in accumulated over the previous 5 yrs.
I agree the other CEO's depicted are jerks, but Rich is straight.
Why do they have to mix in lies like that? Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs was the first executive to announce that their are forgoing their year-end bonuses back in November 2008. The $54 Million was his pay for 2006; way before the government bailout.
I have a notion to share - why arent Corporations considered to be National Security threats? - i mean really !! how much more destabilized could the U.S.A be at this point - way more of a threat than scowling 'terrorist' face broadcast on poo poo TV
What would appease the American populace is video of police arresting every one of these elite douchebags, and video of their bank accounts putting digits back into the 'worthy cause account'- Mainstream media will decide to leave us with a reality TV version of the truth - Come to think of it - we all deserve 'Performance bonuses' - Cause we all keep 'acting' like this system is working for all of us -
I see the image of Obama in your profile. I voted for him myself, but the truth on this subject is OBAMA IS COMPLICIT. He appointed Geithner. Geithner is a cronie. Geithner is working for the Wall Street robber barons under the false pretense that these "too big to fail" corporations must stay solvent. And, he's Obama's guy???? That is not Change I can believe in. That's the same old kleptocracy. Let failed enterprise fail. Flush it from the system. And lock up the fraudsters.
Then you should have known BETTER! You KNEW he was with the Jews in Chicago. This isn't shocking. It's bound to happen. You all didn't listen to Ron Paul sigh.
Please elaborate what is wrong with associating with "Jews in Chicago". Your post sounds like a racist rant. I'm not even Jewish and I found it offensive. I am asking You Tube to delete your post for racist remark.
I voted for Obama as because I fully understood what he stands for.
I very much like the pick he made for the head of the FCC and CTO
(finally very tech savvy people in control of technology, instead of incumbent
computer illiterate lobbyists )
But I don't like his pick of Tim Geithner.
I first thought that he would trust him and if he undercut anything, then Obama would make an example of him, but I don't think that's whats going to happen
What is this video supposed to do? And what did you expect. We left the liquor cabinet open and the kids had a party with it! Instead of listening to the 'sky is falling' dribble and rushing to get money into the hands of corporations, maybe someone should have drafted a proper agreement and handled our money with the care it deserves. Notice that the carmakers have stopped their whining when 6 weeks ago they were ready to close their doors?? We're the dupes in this case!
Thank for making the information available as to how much each one stole from us. ——We have been bamboozled long enough by the ruling few of the Democratic and the Republican parties who use our tax money to hire our sons and daughters as police and army to subjugate us to their will Next time vote for independents, Socialists or any other party that is concerned about the common good—J. Glenn Evans
If you are in Congress, you are courted daily by lobbyists of every persuasion, all of them offering money (or comparable largesse). It takes a superhuman effort to put the concerns of an average citizen over the concerns of the corporations who pay to have you reelected. Sorry to be so cynical, but there you go....
For all the whining about government interference, people don't look hard enough. For 30+ years there has been all kinds of fine print crammed into new Federal laws that stacks the deck in favor of big corporations, especially those that can hide profits overseas and avoid taxes completely.
If the rich and corporations (oddly, exactly the people who hire lobbyists) had really been paying their fair share for the past few decades, the income gap wouldn't be exploding like it is.
If Congress didn't BAIL OUT these stupid companies, then we wouldn't be in this mess.
2 .Government scared the people into believing the bailout would fix things, guess what? it made the problem worse.
3. American Citizens only have themselves to blame. Stop doing the easy thing by blame "greedy" corporations and CEOs, and go back to saving money and acting responsibly.
Take back the economy? From government interference? The economy is the economy. Nobody owns it. You can choose to contribute to it or take from it. How much has the government taken in corporate taxes from these companies over the years? Trillions over the years transferred from workers to non workers. Now that's the "economy I want stopped." I believe that's what your organization wants more of. Instead of them taking a fraction of what their companies paid in taxes, give it to welfare?

The only thing wrong with "class warfare" is the upperclass is usually the only one doing it.
