  • This was a very dangerous close call. No one on the LSO platform new these guys were in the middle of the deck. A safety officer ordered the wave off.

  • As the great Red Forman would say, DUMBASSES.

  • Looks like a trip to Pri-Fly for a one-on-one with the Air-Boss....

  • Yeah, I pitty the guy who uploaded this video. THe GW CO is going to have a field day with him or her when it's all over and done with.

  • get a date bit.ly\qfKLmR

  • Same thing happened to me at stoplight the other day... Cept I got hit

  • that's gonna be a one way conversation with the Air Boss.

  • @iLoveYoutuveVideos You're a dumbass. Read the top comments and figure it out

  • @silv3rsurf

    lame video

  • did they not see the plane? woah

  • were they trying to plank while the plane landed? i love planking.

  • Paddles...whatcha doing in there?????

  • do a barrel roll!!!!

  • oh look big facking jet coming in for landing, but hey the lights in my favor i choose to cross.

  • Has our military become completely moronic?

  • @gsv67 Yes, that's certainly what happened. Assuming you've spent lots of time on a carrier flight deck. You probably wouldn't last 2 minutes, unless you huddled up in a little ball... out of the landing area...

  • well, you see, in MY professional opinion, it looked like the people were on the deck, and then a plane came, and then it flew away. good stuff.

  • I see two people going on shore leave~

  • Almost a touchdown!!

  • i've worked on a carrier and on these planes... that F you see on the screen means the deck is foul... the deck being foul means there is something that is preventing a jet to land safely, be it personnel, a cable not ready, or things in the landing area, the W on the screen means wave or wave off, either the pilot wasn't paying attention to the wave off sign or someone gave him the signal late, the guys on the deck look like cable handlers and looks like they were going to check the cables

  • @bxtruxtc2k2 Thanks for that. I used to be on the waist cats crew for the Kitty Hawk and I was stumped as to how two guys could just walk out in front of a landing aircraft like that. What you say makes perfect sense.

  • hard to tell with the short video but looks like the AGO never greened the deck- notice the flashing F in the PLAT video. Might have been gear dogs checking the wires and the LSOs were late on the wave off. amazing how quick this got off the the George Washington..

  • I imagine the big cheese on that carrier wasn't too happy. They could have killed themselves, the pilot and anyone on that deck.

  • Clearly it wasn't the pilot that saw them and pulled up. There's no way for the pilot be able to see them from that landing pitch angle. Someone in the tower control told him to wave off at the last second.

That's a good reaction from two people, the pilot and the tower controller.

  • @Nanaijo3 - Two nice posts, but the pilot can definitely see almost the whole deck until he's right on top of it. (The Hornet's view over the nose is designed that way.) Two little specks with arms and legs are not going to be very visible, though.

  • Good thing he wasn't texting.

  • Wow. Bet those guys had some laundry to do that night.

  • @TheVFRider From nearly getting killed or the Flight Boss ripping their guts out that evening?
