This cover DOES suck. and PATD! sucks. I've been listening to smashing pumpkins since I was 5 and I raided my brother's CD collection. mellon collie is the first CD I ever listened to on my own and SP are my favorite band. the musicianship sucks here, they ripped the dancers' costumes from SP Thirty-Three music video. Corgan and the SP are far more talented musically/lyrically. this cover is a disgrace
Is it just me, or are those drums the same drums spencer uses in the ballad of mona lisa? cuz i saw the drums in the music vid and they looked like the same drums from all those really old AFYCSO performances.

The SP singer's voice is entirely too bright (which is what musically uneducated people would call "nasal") and not nearly dark enough. It sounds as if he has something plugging his nose. Whereas Brendon has an incredible range that you just do not see anymore.
His vocal capabilities are no where near as good as Corgan's were. It wasn't that bad though. I do like how you can barely play the guitar. And his voice DOES have good moments where it fits perfectly, but the song's better played as the pumpkins did. Nice try, Panic! (Though I did like the ending)

As much as I love the Smashing Pumpkins, the vocalist sounds somewhere between singing and hacking up a hairball. I do know how to appreciate good music however, and they have it. Panic at the Disco just performs it better.

This version is much better.
As much as I love the Smashing Pumpkins, the vocalist sounds somewhere between singing and hacking up a hairball. I do know how to appreciate good music however, and they have it. Panic at the Disco just performs it better.

That lead singer was pitchy as hell through the pumpkins song...no one who calls themselves a professional singer should ever sound that bad, even live, and outdoors.but I liked how they did it. and that other song seemed cool, it's a shame you cut it off.
