Theres no 100% about anything until the fight has happened. but the reason they never will fight is simply becuse of the weight class difference. too much of a mismatch. when theres a fight between two fighters that are two weight classes apart, it's usually only because the smaller one is defending a teammate. If not, it's usually bad new for the smaller one (in this case Rypien). Maybe not but chances are greatly that he would loose.

Every guy Rypien has fought has been bigger then him. He only has one clear loss and that was to Doug Murray. Andy Sutton, Brandon Prust, Zack Stortini, Mike Commodore, Sheldon Brookbank, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, Cody McLeod, Daniel Carcillo are all guys who out weigh him and who can throw them pretty well and he has beaten them.

HAL GILL IS NOT A FIGHTER! So what if hes bigger. Cote would fuck Hal Gill up anyday. So would Asham. It not only has to do with how big you are, but also how often you fight. Asham and Cote are light-heavywight and heavyweight enforcers. I'ts their job to shit kick people. Rypien is tough pound for pound and fights quite often, but is not on the same level as guys like Cote or Asham. Thats just a stupid comparison. Theirs a difference between heavyweight players and heavyweight fighters.

I respect your opinion, but I have put forth way, way too much evidence for my argument to be called bias. My argument is almost all statistics an facts and has no relation to me being a Philly fan. Cote may be a punching bag when he fights guys in his own weight class, but if he fights guys in lower weight classes than him, he destroys them no doubt. For example.... Cote vs. Rylan Malone, joke fight cuz we all know whos guna win. Rypien is two weight classes below him, and one below Asham.

Your argument has everything to do with you being a Flyers fan. Everything. Your evidence is nothing but a bias opinion that is countered left and right.
Cote is tough as nails but he can't fight on the ice, Asham is tough and a very good fighter. Rypien has proven in his short time in the NHL that he is a legit fighter and can take on the big boys.

And I'm very aware Rypien is touger than Malone. I just used that as a good exaple for a mismatch. It shows why weight class is important. I wouldn't be suprised if Asham fought Rypien, it would be a great fight even though Asham is a weight class above him. Neither of them would get 'destroyed'. but to bring Cote in to this is rediculous. Cote would destroy Rypien no doubt about it, you cant argue that. Two weight classes is just too much of a difference for any fighter, Rypien or not.

Good point. Theres no 100% about anything until the fight has happened. but the reason they never will fight is simply becuse of the weight class difference. too much of a mismatch. when theres a fight between two fighters that are two weight classes apart, it's usually only because the smaller one is defending a teammate. If not, it's usually bad new for the smaller one (in this case Rypien). Maybe not but chances are greatly that he would loose.

There is doubt because Cote is not a good fighter. He can take a punch. You call what you have said is evidence but it is opinion and a bias one at that.
Cote would not destroy Rypien. If anything it would be a close fight. You try to argue size and some one countered that with Hal Gil and Strotini.
Rypien is a fighter. You are acting like this is boxing. Weight in hockey means nothing.

My evidence is statistics and facts once again and not a bias opinion as you say. Weight and size does make a huge difference in hockey fighting. Look at Chara, hes not a fighter at all, yet hes fought brashear and laraque. simply because hes a big guy. And if you want to talk pound for pound Cote is there all the way. He fights guys 20-50 pounds heavier than him and definatly holds his own. Even though rypien boxes, Cote is just simply too strong and tough for a guy like Rypien.

Cote may loose a lot but remember, hes fighting guys 20-50 pounds heavier than him. Hes dosnt loose by that much usually either. Ive seen all the Rypien, Cote, and Asham fights. Stortini is one of the only heavyweights rypien has ever fought. Cote is a heavywight and rarely fights a non heavyweight. Asham is a light heavyweight and rarley fights anyone less than his weight class too. For Rypien to go up against Asham wouldn't be surprising, but for Rypien to go up agains Cote is rediculous.

Boxing does run in his family but that makes him no different than any other NHL fighter. They all train for boxing and MMA every day. and it's rediculous because Cote has weight, height, weight class, and experience with fighting big guys over Rypien. Every guy Rypien has fought has been bigger then him. He only has one clear loss and that was to Doug Murray. Andy Sutton, Brandon Prust, Zack Stortini, Mike Commodore, Sheldon Brookbank, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, Cody McLeod, Daniel Carcillo are all guys who out weigh him and who can throw them pretty well and he has beaten them.
Again those are real stats not assumptions based on bias.
