Wow, your picking ability is great! Very Petrucci style! And I don't want to sound like all these other guys but some of it's true: Even Petrucci knows not to go fast ALL THE TIME. Look at guys like Vai and Satriani, some of their best stuff is their slower songs (Always with You Always with Me, For the Love of God is only fast in parts of the solo, etc.)

Either way, you're awesome and your tone isn't half bad either!

The fastest players are not the greatest players. It's feel that's most important. I can only listen to speed licks for a minute or two. But someone that plays with feel, I can listen to it all night.

what exactly is feeling? its all guitar! you have to be ignorant to say that. anyone can agree that someone just playing shred techniques in a song has made a stupid song but that doesnt mean any technique is bad for music. you can get just as expressive with speed as you can playing good old blues licks. its not about feeling and its not about speed, its about the composition. neither of those are more important than the other. the greatest players know how to balance them. not to excess on 1.

Read my last statement. I didn't say it was crap. In fact I don't mind listening to speed licks a bit here and there. But for two fucking minutes? You have to be pretty brain dead to think this is actually musical. Music is feeling not just a bunch of notes millisecons apart for two minutes and nothing else.

Tell me where the balance is from his video? It's just a fast lick way beyound what you would call feel.

OMG - I never said that its too fast. I love fast licks here and there. Where did I said I hate fast guitar playing? What I said is: "After a few continues minutes of fast licks without stop and also the same riffs over and over again, it gets boring".

Fast playing is awesome, but you can't over do it, is what I'm saying.
