  • well done.

  • Really unlikely...It should at least have 3 engines incase one has to be powered down. Otherwise 800 people would have to be kept in the air over the Pacific ocean on one engine. Fuck that!

  • @brushfuse Any twin engine plane in the world can safely operate with one engine.

  • wow, if that were to become real today it would be a huge successor

  • The Ecoliner PWNS the A380 on fuel efficiency.

  • Boeing Copy Airbus!!What A Loser Company!!No Brains Company!!

  • @blahs288 that's a copy from Boeing 787 but they enlarge it dumbass !

  • @aeroplanemaniac1 you are the fucking ass

  • Nice, but low quality of video ;]

  • @Juakoz i agree and newer more advanced engines to. what about the p&w geared turbofan 1000g, cfm leap x, rolls royce advance 1 and 2, rb285, GEnx-2b, rolls royce trent xwb. lots of greener options. they a380 isnt green at all now cos 747-8i has GEnX engines that are way more advanced than the a380 engines.

  • its time boeing made a double deck twin engined plane like this eventually, in both long and short -med haul models. now thats what i call green.

  • @guitarplayerforu 'Eventually' is the key word. Inmediate future development in aviation differs greatly with 'ecoliners': Airbus has decided for reengining the A320 in the short haul; and appears to be developing an stretched A380, alongside the A350 for both med and long haul. Boeing has decided to make a clean sheet design to replace the 737 for short haul (to enter in service beyond 2019) and is quite busy with both the 748 and 787 programs. The next 15 years in aviation are already set.

  • @joacoamieva Boeing are designing a composite 7 abreast 2 aisle aircraft for the 737 replacement, probs like a Baby 787 dreamliner, called the 797 or something along those lines.

  • @guitarplayerforu I know that. Boeing confirmed on January to INITIATE research for 737RS (replacement study) in response to A320neo, with likely EIS in 2020 (thats 9 years from now). The main problem is that current technology cannot make a significant fuel reduction to justify a new airplane model, but likely in the next 3+ years new engines may achieve that by just tiny margins. We shall wait and see.

  • @Mecurial95 totally agree, bet this replaces 747-8 Intercontinental after 15-20 year of the modernised 747 being in service, but i reckon boeing should call this plane the 747 Ecoliner. still keeping it called the 747 as boeing's well know for.

  • so whos building the plane Airbus? or Boeing?

  • @Mecurial95 but we all know what's in the graphics wont look like it went its really built. ie, 787 dreamliner didnt look at sleek as in the graphics...

  • This is hilarious! Pretty hypocritical to criticise the A380 and praise this, given they're from the same stable. But then again, this is a Boeing...sheesh!

  • looks ALOT better than the a380

  • @AirCalv it won't be called the 797 cos thats whats goinging to replace the 737's eventually. they would probably stick to the boeing Y3 Ecoliner.

  • @Mecurial95 yeah totally agree its cos its a proper plane from a decent very experienced company and their called Boeing, notice only two engines too, so it'll be a lot cleaner than the A380, and boeing are making a short haul version of this too and a mid range one. boeing forever. im a brit but boeing planes are my favourite.

  • It looks like a 787 and a380 mix

  • @rutgersfan7 its not fake, its real

  • @Nat2370 Do you not see the CONCEPT on the top?

  • @rutgersfan7 i think thats what its gonna be, and it look a lot nicer than that A380, only two engines too so it'll be alot cleaner. its probably a double decker 787. cos their making a long haul, mid and short haul version of thais aircraft but it wont be for years yet. but boeing are so far ahead than airbus with this sort of planning. they'll still think their A380 is King but wait until they see this their in for a big surprise! whooop boeing boeing boeing!

  • @rutgersfan7 looks like a double decker boeing 787 dreamliner and airbus a380 looks like a double decker a340-600

  • what is? no is the a380

  • @Padrino295 its real not fake

  • This seems like a logical next step, planemakers are building larger and larger twins, it's just a shock to everyone because they "twinned" the deck too.

  • @Mecurial95 and the 747 !

  • Those engines are powerful enough to carry this oversized 777?

  • @raykrislianggi

Absolutely. I remember watching a documentary about the GE 90-115B engines that power the 777. When they showed the footage of GE's flying 747 test bed, they noted that the test pilots actually shut down the other three engines and were able to fly the aircraft on just the one GE 90-115B.

  • @AviationNation787 I mean The A370 Ecoliner in this video uses Rolls Royce Trent 1000, and it's powering Boeing 787 Dreamliner which produce 75.000-80.000 pounds of thrust. And the Ecoliner is almost as big as the A380 while using only 2 RR Trent 1000. I wonder if those engines have enough power to lift that plane off the ground. But with 2 GE90s It will absolutely fly.

  • @raykrislianggi the GEnx are basically in updated version of the GE90 and they'd probably make a special version what would produce something like 115,000 pounds of thrust. this boeing Y3 ecoliner looks better than the A380 and it will be used for short haul as well as long haul cos they plan to make three versions of this long haul, mid and short haul models. this is a composite double decker aircraft what is basically like a double decker 787. this will be more efficient than A380.

  • hey is that 787 engine??!!

  • @cst1908 yep certainly is. this looks like a double decker 787 dreamliner, i hope boeing make this a real life plane eventually

  • i doubt it will be able to pull the aircraft in the event of 1 engine failure, so must be 4 engined.. or two even bigger engines, similar to 777 proportions..

  • i don't want to let boeing make whales like airbus did

  • Keep in mind that this is a rendition of what he thinks it will look like, and not what Boeing is planning (if they are). This design looks very Airbus-y with the nose and fuselage shape.

  • the design also looks Boeing-y because of the wing design and the engine scallops

  • it is impossible to call that "Boeing A370"

so.. what will they call that?

  • @GTAstuntman101 the boeing Y3 Ecoliner.

  • Comment removed

  • Yawn.. the A380 is just a 747 with a bigger deck. Yawn.. the A300 is just a wider version of a 707 with two engines, rather than four.

None of those statements are true. Beyond the physical changes, many internal changes are made. Why don't you look into them, and then come back and say "yawn"?

  • Should have done that rather than trying to squeeze more life from the 747.

  • come on... the 747 is a legend and it should keep on flying

  • @T14BR they should call this the boeing 747 ecoliner

  • Ecoliner is a Boeing project no an Airbus one !

  • its neither airbus nor boeing's plan. It's from a guy named Keesje, Henry Lam made these incredible animations, that's it.

  • @joacoamieva it looks like a double decker 787 dreamliner, ultimately this could be a replacement of the boeing 747 series after a long 60+ years in service by the end of the 747-8 if it lasts another 15-20 years. bet boeing could have this in mind if they see these animations. this should be called the 747 ecoliner or the boeing 800 ecoliner. to be put into service in the year 2032

  • @guitarplayerforu its a concept from a graphic designer, and he does not work at Boeing. It may look pretty, but that does not translate into a future aircraft program, nor I think Boeing engineers are searching for future developments of aviation in YouTube.

  • @joacoamieva it is in thought by boeing, its not called the ecoliner, the actual concept name from boeing is boeing 700, which looks exactly the same as this, so he's very near. this is years away though

  • @guitarplayerforu as it is years away to even being a solid concept, it makes no sense to talk about a real airplane. Boeing is not currently working (at least not primarily) on a 747 replacement. As every other company in the world it encourages reserach on new concepts, just like the the BWB concept. I don't see a double decker from Boeing in more than 25+ years (or ever for that matter).

  • PS> Look up "McDonnell-Douglas MD-12" too. ;)

  • Look up "Boeing NLA" if you want to see the original "A380". Of course, Boeing didn't see a business case so they didn't build it. ;)

    I love the Ecoliner concept, a 737 on top of a 787! :)

  • Great concept! Hopefully one of the Y3 models will be this! You REALLY should be working for Boeiing or something, this is great!

  • OMG!!! I am....

  • will this have same flight deck and interior layout as 747 and 777 or will it go fly by wire.. i hope not!

  • Can't wait to fly on that! It should be built. Its way better than the fugly Airbus 380!

  • ITS THE A370 AIRBUS

  • @sixthtimelucky this is a boeing plane through and through, you can tell cos it has beoing's unique y shaped wing, airbus cant produce something as specially as beoing, typical french for you. beoing's are way better than airbus

  • Will it pass future noise abatements : )

  • Who made this concept?

  • the A380 kinda reminds me of a big fat whale. No creativity in the design of that airbus. I like the designs of any other airbus, just not the A380.

But this plane's remarkable. such a graceful profile. but only 2 engines? must be some pretty powerful powerplants to propel a double decker through the air. but engines are getting greener and more powerful every year...

  • A380's design has a purpose. Ever heard of wind tunnels? Planes are not supposed to look prettier if that means they burn more fuel.

  • @FMBNo1 look what boeing have done with the 787 dreamliner, thats gorgeous and that burns very little fuel, the 747-8 intercontinental is beutiful andthat burns 15 percent less fuel than 747-400 and 15-20 percent less per passenger mile than the airbus a380 series, way to go beoing keep it up.

  • boeing must construct it................What a beautiful plane, very nice.

  • Nope, its Airbus. =) You just said our planes are Beautiful and very nice! Lol

  • sry it's a boeing, they were talking about launching a boeing 700 program which may be a twin engine double decker. they also had renderings of the design. it looks nothing like an airbus and you can tell that from the nose, cockpit windows, and the engines which have the distinct waves on the back that airbus doesn't produce, and they won't for the a350.

  • its not actually the 700 yet, its the y3 because it will have many features from its brothers like the 777 and 787.

  • @killerkane360 no need for the a380, just a double deck a340-600 with newer materials, new interior, longer wings, al new engines. total waste of time. boeing seem to be looking more into the future than airbus, im sorry but they do.

  • You are wrong, how you can say far of ugly, this is a real beautiful creation, this is a really wonderful plane, never ugly, really beauty.

  • Far from ugly - quite elegant really. Two engines???

  • 'Eco'? If it produces even one gram of pollution it's not eco-anything. The only 'environmentally-friendly' machine is one that does not pollute at all, not one that simply pollutes less.

  • eek, you need to stop breathing then. you're not very eco. roflmao

  • people are woried so much of global cooling and global warming and climate crisis quit listening to that crackpot Al Gore. He's just makig theroes up to get attention and this is just all climate change it happens throughout history if you look at the records were fine and oil we have a bunch in alaska and canada and there is records of more being made under ground in Nebraska

  • @vidman520: that's because you're a complete idiot. you just don't see what will really happen in the future. you think that situation you said will be always like that, THEN THINK AGAIN STUPID!

  • Alright Liberal idiot

  • Oh yea and we have the Continental shelf and because of stupid liberals like you we cant drill for this stuff! You want to convert CORN spend millions of dollars on a converting corn into fuel and records show that corn emits more polluntants that Gasoline!!! so think next time. before you say stupid stuff its of nature and we never know its potential history has shown that this will work its self out

  • Corn may pollute more, but all the co2 emitted by corn comes from carbonhydrates that were converted from co2 in the first place, so even if corn pollutes more, the co2 equation is neutral, whereas gasoline will always have a negative one. That's the charm about biofuels

  • In order for that to fly it's got to have engines the size of houses, TWO-STORY houses!

  • those engines have to have a thrust of 220,000 LBS PER ENGINE. And it has the cross-section of the 777 from the look of the cabin...

And the GEnx and Trent 1000 cant power the A380, even there is four of them. Theres not enough total thrust but the higher end of both mentioned engines could.

  • Maybe, coz it looks d same...

  • for this to happen the engines on this thing will have to be 3x bigger then the 777's and it must be incredably high of the ground ones itsgrounded because of the massive size of those engines

  • Its better than A380 coz the plane is using the RR Trent 1000 and has a better design...

  • agreed

  • looks like a 787 double decker

  • its not ugly at all i like the way it looks, and btw just see how powerful GE90 engines are

  • ***** and favorited!

I toyed with the double-deck twinjet concept myself, combining low-maintenance of two engines with space utilization of two decks.

My idea, Gemini, snugly fit LD3 containers side-by-side, had 3-3-3 coach seating on the lower deck and 2-3-2 on the upper.

Gemini had two wing and three fuselage options. The smallest Gemini could go where 747s can, the largest Gemini where A380s can.

With gearboxed turbofans and advanced composites, a double deck twin could fly.

  • Where did this design/concept/theory originate? This plane appears to be a vague rumour or product of someones imagination.

  • Those engines would need to be the size of a house! Fewer engines makes for greater aerodynamic co-efficients. I like the idea/initiative of it myself. However this plane is purely concept.

    *Many concepts are never launched.*

This future civil jet is well and truly ahead of its time.

From inception to commercial operations could realistically take as long as 5-8 years.

A380 took 7 years to go through that cycle.

  • so whos 'building' this boeing or airbus? and if this is going to be the A370 wouldn't it of been built before A380 it just makes more sense that way! but i like the idea of it!

  • This plane is not as far-fetched as people think. Powered by an uprated version of the engine used on the 777-300ER, Ecoliner will not only be fuel-efficient but its shorter fuselage length means better compatibility with current airport parking gates (a lot of airports can't accommodate the 777-300ER).

  • This ecoliner are might to be Boeing Y3 design to replace B747-400 and B777-300.

  • but what about ETOPS regulations? it will prevent the A370 from flying long routes.

  • thats it, boeing should make one much bigger than a380 with those GE 90s. using 4 of them.

  • then why make the a380?

  • To make competition with Boeing

  • Is Airbus actually going to go through with this one or has it been shelved?

(That interior shown is unrealistically luxurious -- i.e. for people willing to pay $2000+ for even basic flights.)

  • Beautiful plane! Looks just awesome, and those engines - gigantic :D

  • ...but it's not eco

  • beautiful...

  • Um this is just bascially a smaller version of the A380 with 2 engines... :/

  • Great concept, this really would work. Im sure Airlines would prefere this highly economical Jet to the A380, even though it is slightly smaller.

  • I love it!

  • Looks great but u guys r crazy, a double decker twin, u'd probably need a fan diameter the size of an A330's fuselage!!

  • how could that be ECO

  • What is the mark of the plane?
