  • Jimi Hendrix thought that Stills was pretty gifted too. UGottaListen2B4UDie.

  • Crosby is sick at this point. This is not long before his transplant.

  • what year was this?

  • One of my favorites, great video - thanks!

  • Mi passa davanti agli occhi tutta la mia adolescenza. Si inserisce alla perfezione il basso suonato così. Bellissimo

  • Long Time Gone is, in a way, a generic song. There is not really a mention of any

events, political or otherwise. Because it was "the time of the season". It could very

well be the same time now, but who is willing to take a LOA to get into it? It looks

like the dollar is the greatest priority. If that is true, we can just enjoy CSN as a retro

band, stating something more than 40 years back and not now.

  • david (cyborg)crosby.lol

  • Sooooooooooo coked out.. My god those eyes. FLYING ! However, the performance speaks for itself.

  • Some seriously sick bass playing. Anyone know who that was?

  • The stoned eyes of David Crosby

  • @popshoot1 "This is from the Daylight Again tour of 1982." said fishdeschois 3 years ago.

...Yep, I noticed them eyes right away too. -Never heard Crosby sing out quite like this myself.

Seems Nash skips some of the highest harmony bits. Good sound and camera work...Hopefully there's a legit release of this whole concert.

  • @popshoot1 Crosby doesn't blink once during the entire performance!

  • @leonakita : You must have blinked when he did. Watch more carefully.

  • "let me hear you choc".

  • Awesome Music...And then We have the music of today....CRAP !!!

  • Nice !!!

  • Is this Pre or Post David Crosby jail time sentence for Drugs !!

  • To think these guys had a few hours practice then played woodstock.....awesome!!!!

  • Thumb's-Up!!!!

  • First song I ever did in garage band back in the day. Saw CSN&Y several times and covered Almost Cut My Hair, Judy Blue Eyes and many others. Suggest "young" people go back and listen to Buffalo Springfield, Crazy Horse and Hollies as well. Stills had a large influence on my style as well as Richards rhythm riffs.

  • I've seen many, many CSN concerts......What year was this? Stephen is still skiinny and David is the same...Hell... Graham is always the same...........

    What year was this???

  • dat bass

  • I believe this is one of the best performances of Long time gone. Wonderfull guitarplaying, solo and CH singing. Very inspiring indeed. Crosby looks stoned, but that gives the performance a nice edge.

  • Crosby is awesome but has that freakky paranoid stare every now and then

  • one of their better live vocal harmony performances

  • david crosby is stoned to the bone in this

  • "mattmonks dont no shit". i bet his mamma buys his tunes from tesco's.! some people dont understand good music and mattmonks and his mamma surely dont..!

  • @mattmonks 'Music turned for the better when MTV got rid of the sing-good/look bad crowd in music.' .. give us one example of better music since MTV. You are full of it.

'A-List Entertainers should wanna-be/wanna-bang types' .. you tuned into the wrong channel mate .. try xxxhub and enjoy moans for music. If music needs visual it means it is not good enough. But you mix up music with entertainment anyway... the one is for the soul the other is for pleasure and occupation of kiddo's like you

  • mattmonks? really???? do you KNOW what MUSIC is? it is AUDITORY, NOT visual.

  • Mattmonks is an asshole.. I don't know what the hell nardo363636 is saying.. ejectorerector is an asshole as well.. it's funny that the most ignorant people are the most talkative.. this is an okay version of a good song.. they did some better stuff and some stuff that was not so good, but they definitely added something to the art of music..

  • 2:32-3:00 is the stuff of nightmares.

  • I'm quite shocked by reading the words by Mattmonks because of the kind of intolerance and ignorance they show - I've seen those days of late sixties and do know, that all kinda MTV, etc.- creations were improved at these uncomparable times. At the other hand, I would'nt put a sentence on the spirit of the music of younger generations. So, please, don't give an offence at those old, really creative, often stoned heros-and: would you be amused by being respectlessly called a "fugly toad" or so?

  • for you that doesn`t know that is a david crosby song in which he is the leading vocal. get the album called four way street is a live album and neil young is part of it. and than listen to that tune will blow you away

  • david crosby has had the same hair and mustache for over 40 years.

  • Yes, people from the tired and tired 60s or 70s or whenever this is from: You put forth good singers that can sing and players that could play... but, come one... these are some ugly, pale bastards. I mean - every vagina in that place was dry as sandpaper - that one dude in the suit jacket looks like an unkept insurance salesmen. Music turned for the better when MTV got rid of the sing-good/look bad crowd in music. A-List Entertainers should wanna-be/wanna-bang types. These guys fugly toads.

  • @MattMonks123 Are you being satirical? :)

  • Meth or coke maybe, with adrenaline

  • thought I'd heard them all ,this one, never before, thanks ,for a great post !

  • david crosby,s eyes are locked and loaded!

  • @MrBadgerland Yep, he's got the thousand yard stare for sure.

  • @MrBadgerland dude, I don't know who you are but that's hilarious!!

  • @chipsperry, been listening to everything I can find on here from these guys and truly enjoy most of it..watching these guys perform over a couple generations is so cool. It is good to see david came through his heaith issues and still sounds pretty darn good.

  • @MrBadgerland I agree! No wonder they used him as a stud. His innards are made of steel! Stills' voice is rough but not Crosby's!

  • @MrBadgerland He does sound good!

  • Yes, the bassist is beyond superb on this one; and yes, one of the best ever renditions of this great one.

  • Glastonbury 2009 sounds better!

  • george "chocolate"perry

  • Awesome !!!

  • The bass player had me out of my chair. He's almost more of a lead guitar than Stills.

  • I love this version of the song. Who is the bass player? He really adds a different "touch" to the song....

  • when I hear this song I feel back to the past...just love it..

  • Crosby Stills & Nash it don't get any better than that.Rock on

  • just had a 1 and a half hour jam to this this morining, amazing! Woke up the gods (we were in a chapel)

  • The dude on bass is bad-ass on here.

  • Hi Guys, I love the way Stephen Stills play the leads. He is a genius. Everything he does is so befitting the song and the more i listen the better it gets. Yes i am a student of guitar and have been for 40 odd years and still i learn things from him. Dave is awesome as well and i feel for him with his past addictions and Nashy fits perfectly with these guru!s as well. Check out the Glastonbury version 2008 it is amazing and played differant as well. Cheers to all.

  • @guitarsandme Yeah Stills is a genius. But they all are, musically. And made such statement. This really takes me back. And saddens me to think, we never learned anything. Never will. Each generation has to see the mistakes of our world all over again. I hope they have a CSN(Y) to tell of it ... (speaking of great musicians, this maybe really strange but doesnt Lifeson of RUSH Move like Stills ?! I never thought to see a Stills influence on stage walking! lol : ) But there u R.

  • @ancientfaces you only have as much as they let you, pull on that chain abit and watch how fast they choke you with it.

  • @ancientfaces u have not got freedom, u r helping walk everyone into big brothers cage

  • Excellent stuff. A classic song by an amazing band. These guys can play and sing as good as anyone.

  • its amazing how this song sounded in 1969,and what it sounded like in 1982.

  • If Crosby's eyes were any more dilated, he wouldn't have eyelids. Yikes.

  • Non ce n'è per nessuno. Se la gente non ascolta più questi grandi siamo proprio messi male--- Straordinario!!!!!!

  • Who's this incredible Bass-player? Great version !

  • @FredelBabedel Bass player is "Choc" Perry. Full name George "Chocolate " Perry.

  • @darbygrey lmao @ nicknaming the jiggaboo bass player, 'Chocolate' !.. You can't make shit like that up!

  • An important message.

  • Certainly not the best version - but live rarely is.

  • They're still very good technically, but its very robotic. It just feels like I'm listening to the machine that is CSN, not the men themselves.

  • @mikect87 and look at david. that's not funny at all. zombie.

  • Who is playing bass?

  • @elperezos George "chocolate" Perry.

  • CSN...thanks for all the music! Music today SUCKS A FAT TIT. I mean, there's Bieber, Lady Gaga, Rihana.. the shit list goes on. I long to live in a generation with good music. Ahh, to be a child of the 60's....

  • @skywalk553 I am........and grateful. What a great time to grow up, and become aware. Went to college 65 to 69. Wouldn't change anything.

  • crosby looks fucked up! lol he was smokin some serious crack (freebase more accurately) at this point for sure. hes awesome tho, look up thousand roads, that song gives me chills every time

  • I like Nash's jumping around to distract attention away from zombie Crosby.

  • Is it just me, or is that the Southern Cross intro?

  • @stalrunner

It does sound close, doesn't it..

  • David is tripping!!!

  • Thank God we can hear these great songs and see them here. I just love these guys.

  • cyborg!

  • Oh how I love this song!! The feel of it is just mesmerizing for the soul!! This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days so much. What a time that was!! Never to be forgotten!! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame but at least we can recapture some of that magic when we hear this song. Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ♥

  • I'm not feeling the bass playing. I'm a honky.

  • I love these people with all my heart, Hart. But the suck LIVE!

  • gud stuff

  • JudyO: What are you on, sweetie?

  • Best harmonies ever - time has not wearied them

  • This is not the true Stephen, I warrant you! That is William Rodman Lowe at the guitar, though! Notice he has a cap for his baldness, and not his beautiful blue eyes! You are supposed to ask, what is with Steve? He is our Lamb of God! Currently Ron Ballard! ;))

  • Yea? and he's made millions being that player....what have you made with your music........

  • last one.

  • Good vid...thanks!!!

  • The days before autotune. When ppl actually sang! And when a choreographed dance wasnt necessary to enjoy the show. When it was about the music...period.

  • Bass player Chocolate George Perry.

  • Crosby's signature song, at a concert during which he was nearly catatonic.

In withdrawal, not high, as many here think. Crosby made a few detox efforts,

but the effects were never permanent. It took at least a decade for thim to flush

    addiction.

  • Creo que junto a cancion sin palabras es una de las mejores piezas compuestas por David Crosbi

  • listen to that bass man.

  • This song is very relevant to what is going on in today's society just as it was when it was written. Songs with a meaningful and truthful message never die.

    Dig that bass player! :)

  • He's a fuckin' musical genius. We were all stoned then. I'd sell my soul to meet him.

  • Who is playing bass on this?? He's soooo killer!! :)

  • WOW! is he ripped lol

  • i love how daivd is sooo stoned here.

  • This song was written by David Crosby for RFK.

  • These guys have always been amazingly good! So good to listen to this shout "..SPEAK OUT, speak out against the madness!..speak your mind!.." Wow!

Stand up for what's good in this life, people...leave the trash behind...wipe it off your lives, I say! Put some meaning to what you do and hope for! That's what CSNY have been doin' for decades...LIVE LONG to them! Great bass, great guitar, great voice ...whatta harmony on stage! Peace!

  • Regression mode!!!LOL!

  • best harmonizing ever!!

  • What year is this video from?

  • I think Stephen Stills is one of the most underrated guitarists around. I don't think he has ever gotten his due as a singer/songwriter/guitarist.

  • @Jeffmage

You are right. I think of the so called Hall of Fame...they are totally fuckin bogus....

I don't know if he or CSNY are there, but my guess is he isn't.

  • good

  • il est trés beau!!!!!

  • Long may they reign! CSN forever!

  • Man that dude is groovin' on that bass!

  • the bass player is insane, haha

  • great bass

  • OH ya! Dave is *really* trippin' in this one. Look at his eyes. I'm guessing acid.

  • Ha, he was way out of his acid days. More likely speedballs. Mix of coke and heroin. I'm actually reading his bio right now, amazing book. He says that before his sobriety he never actually performed without the aid of substance. I have to give him props, no matter how stoned he must have been he consistently rocks, his harmonies are always pitch perfect and usually the most difficult. I'm glad you noticed too. This whole DVD concert is actually pretty funny to watch because of how stoned he is.

  • Gone. Long gone.

  • Stephen Stills is sick at the guitar.

  • @nardo363636

    Totally underrated.

  • crosby looks here more like a truck driver than a singer. lol

  • Yeah his look is so decieving. When his voice comes out it doesnt suite the look. Great voice though.

  • damn, funky bass

  • an amazing groove...

  • Thanks for the upload. Happy Holidays :-))

  • man crosby ate something FUNKY before this show lolol

  • agreed..on other numbers he's pretty much nodded out but here he holds it together pretty good.

  • Oh yes, they were messed up. Just read Crosbys bio. But it still sounds good.

  • The performance is better in retrospect than I remember it being at the time. It's testament to Crosby's talent that he was still that good even when he was a mess. If you check my videos I recently posted a live version of my band, Blue Sky Rodeo, performing it. Enjoy!!

  • beautiful song,big band.the old gold 60´s.

  • cyborg

  • it wouldint be right if they werent fucked up

  • this is from 83 daylight again tour. david was zooming pretty good then

  • Yes, the eyes he returned with from the void.

  • what else could have crosby done in his carrier without swallowing things like what caused eyes like those.... my god such a talented genius

  • David with the scary eyes!!

  • seen them at the marquee cork they tore down the house they all looked clean to me

  • Such a good version. Good to hear Stills on backing vocals. Shame he didn't sing much at Glastonbury. Shit hot guitar playing thought!!!

  • they are all fucking pie eyed but still shit hot.

  • wel ur an arse then!

  • He can see things you can't m8. I rate him very highly indeed

  • THIS shoulda been the albumn version! holy cow - flawless and yea prolly on acid...4-way street yea good ...THIS..oh my i need to go clean myself!.......dano

  • Crosby on acid 4 sure!

  • LOL his eyes do look glazed over

  • I dont use drugs but, i've never even seen anyone look that wasted, lol

  • Actually in the throes of a preliminary attempt at detox. Crosby was sober in

this concert, but sick as a dog.

  • I call BS, the dude is trippin' balls.

  • what year is this performance?

  • George "Chocolate" Perry.

  • Who is the bassist in this video?

  • He is indeed "Long Time Gone" LOL!!

  • the only thing on his mind was coke and booze and when they could get off the stage so he could have some more.

His presence is very..... not there. But he pulls through anyway because he is a skilled and talented performer.

But that will take you only so far. Shorty after this time, he nearly killed himself with addiction, with his career and relationships suffering unfathomably.

    You cannot hide forever.

  • the Cros'... hittin' the freebase, with a loaded handgun stashed in his guitar case. I recognize that paranoid tweaker face... had a few close friends who were sportin' the same face that year.

  • This is from the Daylight Again tour of 1982. Crosby ws a few years away from hitting rock bottom.

  • solid performance,

     none the less.

  • maybe he had somthin on his mind,he,he,he.

  • oef

  • In this vid Crosby looks like he's somewhat listless, very wooden, dazed or out of it. He sings well, but his eyes look empty and he barely moves.

Graham Nash of course is the most animated, and Stills is very into the act. But Crosby looks checked out. Weird.

  • thats exactly what is was thinking when i first seen this vid head shot of Crosby.lol wooden...

  • CSN:always a "supergroup" with Young, I remember when i play guitar with friends: Eloge , Pat, Sat

    thank you for posting!!!
