  • Hard Work is the key to learn this Art, extremely intense moves.

  • Very hard!!! Hapkido emphasizes circular motion, non-resisting movements, and control of the opponent. I can not see smooth and fluid movement.

  • Hapkido is awsome, tryed around a bit but this is just a bloody awesome art.

  • This stuff us the best out there I encourage everyone to join for SELF DEFENSE

  • In RL there'd be the element of suprise & deciet .Its really up to the person as it is the technique. Some of these locking /manipulation skills would rip tendons or break the bone to those who have not trained to recieve it .Most would resist , which aids in the destruction of the bone/tissue. We tend to 'personalize' it anyway ,and have favorite methods . This could be very viscious if needed . Gracie is a legend .He wasnt facing the Hapkido GM. Wouldnt have be so easy for Gracie then .

  • @33Rooker Obviously, the fight had rules. My Hapkido incorporates alot of pressure point striking, joint locks, throws, from all sorts of different positions. Yes, 1 on 1 the bjj fighter would win, but in a real life self defense situation, you would not even think of taking the guy down, mounting him, grounding and pounding him, or putting him in an armbar, or a choke. I mean, why would you? theres a chance that there would be multiple attackers, and thats the case over 50% of the time.

  • @33Rooker Hey, noob at martial arts, hapkido is not useless in self-defense. If you even bother to learn about martial arts, you will know that everything has its ups and downs, different principles, etc. Gracies learnt Jiujitsu, which then formed into BJJ, a sport using an adjusted system of jiujitsu. If you are referring to the challenge of the hapkido vs bjj fight on youtube, that is not a self defense fight. it was a sparring session. and bjj proved superier because it was a spar.

  • to all those who are wondering why hes screaming, is because 1. it is a demonstration. it is to show the effectiveness of the technique. 2. because when executed properly, they hurt 1000x more than what you see. you honestly have to feel it to believe it.

  • He si the my master´s master and is amazing his skills

  • Agreed. Hapkido like many Martial Arts has varied cultures of practice. The way i was trained is to be calm and relax. No Screaming. There are soft to hard styles of the art and for some reason the harder styles are much more represented on line.

  • can tell you right now, when im at my hapkido training and who ever i get partnered with that night....i always get reallly worried when they want to practise with the walking stick haha....hurts so much being locked by one of them :(

  • lol...love the screaming

  • Trust me This martial art is much more painfull than you think and hard to practise or spar with others. unlike other Martial arts like Judo or jujitsu almost each and every move BREAKS BONES thats the whole perpose witch is why almost every video you watch on it feutures masters. When lerning this its not uncomen to break bones along the way.

  • watch?v=PVMwXztivL0

  • well, the confusing problem involves serious Korean political background.

Korean army and right wings have been instigating anti-Japanese propaganda

and movement since 1960 by military junta?

Korean hesitated to say "Japanese Aikido teacher taught us"

then they tell false like "mountain hermit taught Hapkido in our dream"?

i am quite confusing still now....

  • i am sorry,i mistook a lot.

the origin of Korean Aikido,Che Yunsol(崔龍述)was great teacher,

but his students created Hapkido without his permit in Korea?

i have to check the books of Daito-ryu(大東流)

quite confused...anyway Aikido never fix with brute force like Korean style.

the point of important are genial, circle and fluid (和,円,流). thank you.

  • No disrespect intended. but its true.

  • Aikido prohibit fight, since it has dangerous joint techniques then fighters would broken their bone or cut tendon by necessity.

cartilagines and tendons are never recovered and stubborn.

its important to lesson day after day in long life firstly.

Korean can't understand the reason (理) and natural rule.

  • Hapkido is copied and stolen from Aikido.

Korean always arrange for the worse from Japanese traditional Budo...

origin of Hapkido old teachers learned the surface only of Aikido(合気道) and Ju-Justu (柔術)in Japan.

they needed more study but they closed their ears from advice of Japanese teachers.

then they opened Hapkido class in Korea without permit of their teachers.

so they must say "Hapkido is original,it made in Korea"

  • I LOVE THE TERM "KEYBOARD WARRIOR"! YOU MADE MY DAY BTUK

  • First off they are NOT screaming from pain! I am a 5th degree in Hapkido & Aikido a 3rd in Judo & a 7th degree in TKD. The yelling (as I like to call it) comes from being caught up in the moment. It adds adreneline and keeps the energy up. Do you really think there would be any students in these schools if they were constantly being hurt? YES, you can get carried away and get hurt, just like fighters can get a bloody nose in competition.

  • wesley snipes does this

  • it was like watching a dominatrix or summat lol, the student loved every second of it :)

  • Nice Hapkido Trailer:

    youtube.com/watch?v=_ugw_Cinwjs

  • A tendency in many hapkido demonstrations is for the person being thrown or locked to react with great expressions of pain. I wonder if this may be part of the culture of this art, because in my time practicing judo and aikido I have taken many falls and been put in many locks identical to those used in hapkido, and while I may grit my teeth in discomfort or have my wind knocked out, I have never felt the need to scream from pain.

  • @Tovish1988 It could either be an act (in the sense that they "ham it up" for the audience), or maybe they go harder in Korea than they do in the U.S., which wouldn't be surprising seeing as how we're a very litigious society.

  • @Tovish1988 i use to train in hapkido and blieve or not the idea of screaming really was sometimes because of pain but it is sometimes found that it is alot easier to rid the pain by just "letting" everyting out instead of that idea of not showing weakness. We use to let the best be decided in full contact sparring ;-)

  • @Tovish1988 yea well, i haven't screamed in pain but i have been twisted up by a 250 pound hapkido guy which took about 5 taps to Release & i've gotta tell you it doesn't feel good at all when your 170 pounds & sort of young . Caused my neck to get hurt for months After i quit training with that guy Too rough is too rough they should Take it a bit Easier on the little guys, Geez doing it that fast could pop bones i almost felt mine pop. & least they could do is release after 2 taps lol

  • @Tovish1988 i'm currently taking Jujitsu & loving it.

  • @Tovish1988 that's because the reactions in the video are not naturals. They screams from pain to exalt the quality of the Hapkido...according to what we see it seams that the dummy-guy get much pain then he usually feel if he get an identical grip by another man in an another situation...surely in the real life the margin of reaction afther getting grips like these is much greater.

  • @Tovish1988 Well i take hapkido. and it depends on your belt color how much pain you inflict on your sparring partner. if your against a black belt they inflict alot of pain on you trying to get there moves right. they hit pressure points, and hit certain areas to cause alot of pain and discomfort. If you spar like these two you will scream with the impact and the attacks.

  • @Tovish1988

It's true. Most Aikido practitioners don't bring the pain in locks. Especially Aikido (sorry). Nothing like what I felt daily in Hapkido. If it doesn't hurt and give that panic feeling like you're going to lose your limb, you're not doing it right.

I've done TKD for 7 years, Hapkido for 2.5 years, and Judo for 3 years (still doing Judo). Many many schools and masters I've learned from. 2 of the judo clubs shared the dojo with Aikido.

  • @Tovish1988 i would say that since it's a demonstration, the master is being more forceful in his technique. in practice, the force is probably lessened.

  • Hapki is great!

  • OUCH THAT HURTS...

  • I think that it is very sad to see some of the language and word choices that are use.

Surely these individuals cannot be martial artist because we do not behave this way.The execution and timing of the techniques are perfect. Meaning that this practioner spent a lot of time training. All respect to them-Hapki!

  • @btuck01101980 Yep they are just internet trolls, they post rubbish on any post they find. Another name is keyboard warriors! They only show them self's up. Very sad no real life to be had. Everybody else just thinks whats morons.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • I am a H.K.D. master, if trainees don't "self-throw" they will surely have a broken body. same actually in Judo, the trainee has to relax and move with the motion of the technique rather than meet force on force or resistance. plus we do public demonstrations all the time and the most applause comes from the amazing defensive falling and jumping, etc. Hapkido is by far the most complete martial art. Taekwondo is good for beginners and colored belts! Hapkido is for black belt trainees.

  • Fuck Korea !

  • dont talk shit on hapkido.. it is an all round art that covers all aspects of self defense.. you just need to stick with it long enough to get the ground fighting techniques which arent taught until you reach 3rd dan.. all arts have strengths and weaknesses, some more than others and if you think otherwise , you are a naive idiot

  • I like this kind of Martial Arts becus if u hurt people by Punch or Kick, u might go to jail, but u wont go to jail if u just Block to make them call "Uncle" lol :) Simple but work :)

  • aAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

  • haaa it really hurts!!

  • I am a Hapkido student, and its realy easy to learn this techniques. And this thechniques are very hard, and good to save yo on the street. It is all the same how ald you are. When you like this. Than go to a dojo, and get start training!!!

  • so cruel...

  • y does the big guy hates the small guy so much?

  • @afiqsince86 lol thats good question, I guess cause he small thats why. LOL

  • amazing hapkido is an oxymoron

  • Actually Hapkido isnt about trashing your opponent but using the least amount of force in a fight situtiation(not breaking a sweat).Like once this junkie jumped at me in a train and hit me with a straight punc(broke 1 teeth) and then i took him down whit a throw and held him in a lock. When the poor bastard knew he was done for he started whinin "lemme go, lemme go, pleeeaaaseee..."Well then the Police came soon and took him in..Well i sued him..and i did not even beat him or harm him anyway....

  • @killedGoth very nice job using justified force against that guy, and i like when people throw punches at me and 10 seconds later they are tapping nothing like it lol

  • 0:59 OMFG

  • hmmm well 1) this guy is a dick for being so rough on his partner and 2) i think most ufc/MMA fighters could mess him up

  • @iamkris4ever mma and ufc are sports, fighting turned into a rule and point controlled sport, hapkido is a system of self defense made to maim, i think you have it backwards

  • @metalmaster014 thats true but that dosent mean that a MMA fighter couldent bet him he knows 1 and only 1 martial arts MMA fighters have to be alced in everything so thats my opinion....AND even if it is self defence he could stop the move early and not hurt the guy

  • @iamkris4ever do some research before you talk, kajukenbo is a blend of kali stick fighting, bjj, some hapkido, kung fu, krav maga, and others, it would rip apart an mma guy

  • @metalmaster014 dude one of my friends is a black belt in hapkido and i had a talk with him about it he told me all this stuff......and that its not very street effective and that one style isnt gonna save you.......well any style isnt gonna save you against a gun......but bottom line is stick fighting is use less if you dont have a stick kung fu and krav maga are use less on the ground so aMMA fighter has a good back ground of Boxing, Muay thai or just normal kick boxing bjj, wrestling so meh

  • @iamkris4ever actually krav maga is a basis system of self defense, weapon take aways, protection against various weapons and take downs, kung fu was made to protect farmers in china against robbers and wild animals, kali stick fighting is useful, it teaches you basic striking with a stick, which, even without the stick, is pretty effective, and if you did your research various kung fu styles have ground training like chi-na, and hapkido is street effective if your friend really had a black belt

  • Comment removed

  • @metalmaster014 he does have a black belt and i have beaten a brown belt in hapkido before and im only a white belt in bjj and do some kickboxing if you can show me a video or some proof of a real fight where it prevails then i will accept it

  • Looks like a good martial Art, I imagine it'd be a good defense, but it seems like the offense leaves everything to be desired. If they don't make a move all you can do is grab their arm, and if you can't do that you're screwed.

  • ha ha i wouldnt trust a hapkido master with a cane

  • My Brother's Teaching me Hapkido, And He Almost Broke my Thumb D:

  • hurt me plenty!

  • wow crazy, poor guy.. =/

  • AWSOME! You know, if the dummy didn't move along with the technique he would be extremely injured and debilitated and hospitalized. i'm almost more impressed by the dummy then the master.

  • Man... that tatami doesnt look too soft...

  • hapkido and taekwondo, killer combination!!!

  • @secorta hahaha.. god ur funny. Killer combination for beating up the neighbourhood 10-year old girl bully. Most stuff shown here is absolute bullshit and would never happen irl. Nor would u stand there like a douche while hes playing with 1 of ur arms. Human reaction is to beat u senseless with the other arm. I could see how a few of these techniques would work, but most is just ... show. muay thai and brazilian jiu jitsu all the way =).

  • except if you do resist then youre arm or wrist is broken

  • Im sure as a martial arts school you all wear the same badge on your gee, I wouldn't hurt my family .. please do not hurt yours. Thanks for the videos, they are very educational.

  • Not convinced by the cane attacks.. 0:35, easy legs-sweep possible. 0:39, if the "bad-guy" tracked his target GM lee would be eating it .. also back fist not on ribs during kicks, and the "bad-guy" started falling before throw was effective. 0:43, easy face kick - no guard, not convinced by "leg hold". 0:50 "bad guy" 's punch is out of range and stops well short of GM lee. -ran out of characters but some nice ideas I admit- unfortanuatly too many ways out of the holds for my liking.

  • @siratthebox agreed. though if the dummy didn't move accordingly then he would be hurt really bad. not any one style is superior. i'd like to see BJJ against Hapkido... interesting fight i'm sure.

  • Well BJJ is best suited for ground fighting and stuff like Hapkido and Aikido seem to be better while standing or to take your opponent down. I think Japanese Jujutsu, the parent style of all these descendant styles is probably the best for overall effectiveness in all ranges of combat. But any of these styles can and will break bones and fuck a person up, especially when used against some inexperienced street thug who thinks he can beat you because of his size, strength or he has a weapon.

  • @fearfactor22 yep! i'd love to see a big over weight bouncer get messed up by some small super experienced Hapkido master. They harder you resist the worse the injuries will be.

  • Cough cough Ahem...Tank Abbott lol.

  • @fearfactor22 crap... lol, to an extent you're right. i think a pure MMA brawler would defeat any Super Grand Mega Master of any one style.

  • @GabrielGroverMan i dont think so, put a mma brawler against a super grand mega master of kajukenbo and lets see who wins

  • It is an honor for me to do this style of hapkido school and join Jin Jung family.

Thanks for sharing your teachings Grand Master Lee Chang Soo.

    JIN JUNG!

  • that poor little asian man

  • If you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen! If you learn not to fear pain you learn not to fear your opponent and then you learn not to be a pussy bitch. The master going easy on him wont do him any favors although i agree alot of these masters are a bit over sadistic.

  • good video. very effective

  • This is a great demonstration of how to beat the crap out of someone who doesn't want you any harm... or who is completely cooperative...

  • Thank you for this fantastic video of Grand Master LEE Chang Soo head Master of Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido style, teacher of Korean SWAT Team.

    Amazing!!!!!!

    JIN JUNG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jaek ok miung is the grand master name right or something like that

  • 1.32 that looks so fucking painful

  • 1.32 that looks so fucking painful

  • Judo

  • "Just stand there while grab your wrist to hurt you, mmkay?"

    -Hapkido

  • "Just stand there while grab your wrist to hurt you, mmkay?"

    -Hapkido

  • i love the screams in slow mo

  • my god why cant they have a hapkido school in my town, we just have ninjitsu aikido, judo, braz jujitsu, kendo karate, and taekwondo, theirs probably afew more but i stoped searching for all the different martial arts i could do. :(

  • not over exagerated .. ive been on the raceiveing end of theese ... sometimes i feel like screaming like thta but then id look like a fool haha

  • What is the name of the music playing in the background ? 10x

  • Regardless of the screaming being over exaggerated, this is all really useful.

  • @GhostAnimals93 im in hapkido no1 screams jus 2 make other people feel good. the moves are very painful. people do scream and even cry. i had 2 sign a waver so if summin happens i cant sue. ive never done that in karatae or tae kwon doe.

  • Yeah,i kinda changed my opinion on that when i actually found a partner to practice it with.(very very painful)

  • damn... that guy shows no mercy in his demonstrations. lol. He's going to town on that guy.

  • Зрелищно!

  • *SCREAMS* lol

  • The disturbing thing for me is those screams seem pretty genuine. Cause that guy isn't messing around. I'd wager that the 'ayah' sound is a response to being thrown but the whimpering afterward is pretty damn genuine ... haha.

  • Okay so what's the moral of this demonstration? - Never try to rob an old man with a cane!

  • i feel so bad for the guy who is being demonstrated on, he was like crying after everyone of those moves

  • He's acting

  • 1:29 is pretty self explanitory that hes not acting your arm can only go back so far before it feels like its braking and if you still doubt it go find a grand master or student and see for your self that hes not

  • I didn't say the techniques are not real.

I understand exactly whats going on.

His partner is acting by making the techniques look better, and with the shouts and screams.

His partners purpose is to make it look as good as possible.

    Its very impressive no doubt.

  • @metalmaster014 Don't feel sorry, he's learning.

  • @DinoSwede yeah, i remeber what it was like to "learn"

  • @metalmaster014 learnings good. at least he has a higher pain threshold after this

  • @metalmaster014 I'm sure it hurt but I think his reactions were pretty exaggerated.

  • @NixeonDead i dont think so, that guy looked legit, do hapkido and you'll find out yourself

  • @metalmaster014 It hurts a lot to be thrown by a master. It really demonstrates mastery when you can give them a ton of pain and still not break their bones.

  • @metalmaster014 it is acting the pain they inflict on training is nutin lie they would do on a attcker!!

  • @metalmaster014 And I fell so sorry for your bad english ...

  • @Life202020 wow.....your a fucking retard

  • @metalmaster014 Ha, you're right... sheesh... well, I'm guessing he signed the required liability waiver.

  • @metalmaster014 No pain, no gain

  • @metalmaster014 You know acting ?! lol

  • what's with all the racist faggots posting pussy ass comments!?

  • @troutshooter This is sparta.

  • @troutshooter

    Welcome to youtube

  • @NastyYogaBunny low life japs pretending they know martial arts, hilarious

japs should quit stealing Chinese culture, kanji, ramen noodles, on and on and on , fucking japs are idiots, nuke them son of bitches.

  • @JUMPMASTER1963 jerkoffmaster is nothing but a fake. with the twinkled toes, he is not kicking anything, park your martial arts and let me fuck you in your poor polack canuck ass, hahahha fucking loser

  • @reallJUMPMASTER1963 LOL !!!! Let's see you write some chinese , ya Cambodian dick sucker.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa !!!!!!!!

  • man that student of his...poor guy

  • Cool!

  • instead of "the way of harmonious energy", hapkido should be called "the way of dislocated joints" :)

  • Sucks to be the guy on the recieving end of all that.

  • I wonder if Steven Segal could take on these guys ?

  • I wish these guys would kick some mexican cartel ass, maybe they can send them there to restore order.

  • Well I'll be sure to bow next time I see a Korean with a cane. Those techniques are beautiful.

  • Note to self: Koreans are dangerous

(PS to self: Stay away from Chang's asian bistro- asskicking possible)

  • The guy at 1:23 sounds like bruce lee LMAO, that was epic.

  • Good music and good moves, i am learning this now.

  • ill be kind to an asian guy with a cane from now on. and what bet did he lose to have to be demonstarted on?

  • I'm starting Hapkido this Saturday

  • hahahahahahahhhhh

  • Name of the music?

  • hapkido is definately the best martial art to know..

  • He used him like a rag doll - all the screamming and yelling lmao XD!!!!

  • wow, that's aggresisive!

  • The throws and locks you're seeing here, work on pain compliance. Okay, so you want to resist the throw or fight back against the lock. That's great, now your arm's broken or your shoulder's dislocated. AA3gunner, I'd like to know about your experience with hapkido.

  • yeah im definatly leaving judo for hapkido haha

  • hapkido only works if the opponent does nothing at all.

  • you know nothing about hapkido. You train that wrist locks in combat. The key here is that if you are receiving that kind ok lock in training you need to follow the movement when you partner grabs you if you wanna keep your hand.

  • true but the idea is not to hurt the student.

  • Unrealistic attacks. The "attacker" is moving at half speed and not even trying to hit the other guy. That's fine for beginners, but these guys at their level should be training more realistically.

  • k thanks

  • very insteresting video indeed

  • the guys screams sounds like it belongs in the old mortal combat video games.

  • you call the screams kiabs it belongs to hapkido because i have blue belt

  • @darkpegasu i c i just started taking tae kwon do a month ago and the black belt that teaches the club im with also teaches a little hapkido its a

    very interesting art too.

  • @ darkmouse08

Thank you. i just had exams now i know more than 10 clams or pressure point struckers
