People are missing the point here. The National Museum of Iraq houses relics dating 7,000 years old. Most of the ones looted are the Sumerian ones which are said to hold the clues to the true origins of humanity. I strongly believe the US government didn't interfere with the looting because they wanted the museum to be looted... to destroy information.

Items relating particularly to ancient Israel and the Babylonian invasion of Israel were systematically stollen by the Israelis. Staff pleaded with the US troops to protect the museum but they called the guards away and let the looters in.

By the way, do you have any logical reason why you call this 'theory' rediculous?

I think the US wanted the museam to be looted, so that if they have soldier or American civillian who wanted an artifact, they can just go in and get it with no explain, since the site was looted. If they had protected the site, they can't looted with artifacts without explaining why security was breached.

I totally agree. Ordinary people wouldn't know what to look for in a museam. The reason why they didn't protect it is because they wanted to be looted, so if the items goes missing and ended up in Western homes - they can say they bought from an Iraqi who looted the museam (placing blame on the Iraqi).

That was the case only with Japan. In Germany on the other hand a comprehensive plan (by United States) was already working to bring the country out of its miserable state. Besides, Germans themselves wanted to rebuild their country.
