  • I used to be a sane person like you, but then I took a plasmid to the knee...

  • NO he said

  • so what was the cutscene

  • 0:39

  • Is a man not entitled to the porn on the internet?

  • ''Hey boss, why does this guy want to have a underwater-city?.'' -''We're not here to ask, we're here to do, and what are you afraid of, like the city will turn into a hell, haha, good one Bob''

  • We want to build Real Rapture !!!

  • the idea of a city like this is interesting on a psycho/philosophical experimental standpoint but it'd be impossible to play out due to the implications and the amount of money and effort to create it, and personally i am a bit of a Marxist but not a communist i hate commmunism for it is greedy and usurped a well meaning philosophers greatest work, whil his original intention was sound communism ridiculed and destroyed it. Also does a man EVER own the sweat of his brow or even have the right to?

  • My favorite monologue of Ryan's is when he's talking about his forest on the surface.

"The rabble would gather and the government demanded I make it a park, for the public, so I burned it to the ground."

  • y did i buy the german version?? fuck it's so censored there's almost no blood in it. and the texture resolution was made lower cuz they dont want u to see blood

  • is a man not intitled to shoot another man in the face? no says the man. His face belongs to the government :)

  • SeaNanners!@#

  • No says the man in Australia, it belongs to the dingos.

  • Is a man not entitled to the comment of a video? No says the troll, its belongs to justin beiber jokes, jokes about the dislikes, and jokes about joking about the previously mentioned. jokes like this one.

  • The soundtracks to the bioshock series are my favorite by far.

  • WTF YOU SPOILED IT FOR ME! D;

  • thumbs up if u searched "no says the man" because u heard seananners say it

  • @halfvulcan what's your fucking point

  • @halfvulcan You're forgetting the Free Trade importance of capitalism, which allows companies to become more powerful than governments, and able to manipulate 'democratic' government into making them more wealthy, which effectively silences billions individual rights worldwide.

  • IS A MAN NOT ENTITLED TO THE SWEAT OF HIS BALLS?!?!?!

  • @Zardozthedestroyer didnt u listen to andrew ryan? it belongs to the poor!

  • why does he say, "no says the man in washington, it belongs to the poor"

isn't the united states notorious for being the richest country in the world and taking from poor countries?

  • @tureno1996 Even so, the United States has a mixed Capitalism economic system which means taxes and public welfare programs. Plus consider that Ryan probably created Rapture in the 40's-50's when the US was fresh out of FDR's New Deal policies.

  • @tureno1996 i think went it says poor it means poor people not countries but still capitalism tramples over poor people so the rich get richer and poor stay poor

  • I would choose Rapture (before the civil war ofc).

  • It wasn't impossible to build rapture underwater. It was impossible to build it anywhere else...

  • No says the man.

  • @Shikamaru1212 They want me to contribute to society but I say No No No

  • ryan is basically saying fear the giant bird in d.c, fear a hand that comes out of the sky, and fear the giant hammer sycle falling on u, so out of fear he built ATLANTIS?!?!?!........and thats the story of bioshock :D

  • Can you imagine Rapture being a ride in like universal studio, i'd be shitting brix everytime.

  • I love this game so much, and the ending was and still is one of the best amongst games.

  • I honestly don't get why it's "No! Said the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone?"

Moscow is the capital of Russia.

and Russia is communism... Power of people is more than the "actual" people. lol

  • @Darkedragoon It's understandable in the sense that Communism believes in equality for everyone.

  • @TheAussie00 it advertises its belief in equaliy for everyone, whereas it really believes that the leader is more equal than anyone.

  • @TheAussie00 Communism has very little to do with everyone being equal, thats a fundamental misunderstanding. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." What does that have to do with equality? If my needs are greater than yours, I technicly would receive more because my need was greater.

  • @Nic01224 Giving more to someone who has greater needs doesn't in any way make communism against equality. If a larger ammount is given to each person to suit their needs of production, once they use that bonus on production they will be left with the same ammount of personal wealth that every other person has.

Regardless, quoting Marx's ideas on pre-communism (To each according to his contribution isn't a principle of advanced communism) in no way makes you adept at understanding politics.

  • @TheAussie00 My degree in politics and 10,000 word dissertation on Marx's writings is certainly a start sir. Actually the quote I gave you is from towards the end of the Communist Manifesto as the slogan of a communist society, it has nothing to do with pre-communism. What are you on about? From each according to his ability-great or small-to each according to NEED-great or small. No where in the comment did I mention anything to do with input reflecting the output.

  • @TheAussie00 And I agreed "To each according to his contribution isn't a principle of advanced communism", but as that wasn't what I said, what bearing des this have on our discussion? Or did you mistype that?

  • @Nic01224 look at it this way, i have two numbers, 10, and 100, i want them both to equal 100, I don't add 90 to both, only to 10, which needs it, making the two numbers equal 100, making them both equal.

  • @Darkedragoon this is taking place probably during the red scare, when the spread of communism was highly feared in american societies, and usually overexaggerated till you reach the point where the term "moscow" can basically mean a lot of things.

  • @Darkedragoon yes but the communist belief is that wealth is shared out which is why he says , it belongs to everyone

  • @Darkedragoon it belongs to the people, as in everyone

  • is a man not entitled to the cum of his cock , no says the slut it belongs in my mouth

  • @mbp197 no says the ashamed mother, it belongs in your wife.

  • "No says the man in Washington"

  • Would you kindly give me head?

  • what part does big daddy drill through your hand? it happens when u pull the little sister out of that hole. it's like a cutscene, but i forgotten which part it happens in xD

  • @1989iw its not jack that it happens too.

  • @iRamUrMother ah, i haven't played bioshock that much coz it was mainly my brothers game

  • @1989iw That was a fan video.

Big daddy drills through the splicers hand in trailer whenever he make them mad. That isn't Jack.He has no tattoos on his wrist symboling that he is part of Andrew Ryan's great chain.

  • @TacoonFR thanks for clarifying. i just never played bioshock that much so hard to remember scenes from it

  • Hate to burst ya bubble but that quote is taken from Atlas Shrugged

  • what quote?

  • when i first played this game and it wanted me to leave the bathosphere i sat there for two minutes shivering with anticipation and horror

  • How is this the spoiler? EVERYONE knows the opening speech from Andy Ryan.

  • The first would you kindly of many to come....

  • Not really spoilers if its the intro is it?

    Thx for posting!!

  • I've got the whole soundtrack, and i'm wondering which song it is, when you discover Rapture. Do you have any idea ?

  • Somewhere Under the Sea

  • @DanielJacksonSg1civ

    i'll continue...

under the sea don't drink the water cause it's full of fish pee

  • I love the voice actor of Ryan....

"No says the Man in Moscow..it belongs to EVERYONE!"

  • I just beat it with the 3rd ending, it was crazy and took forever! But I finally did it.

  • just saying, this intro not only had me scared shitless, but i think it is easily the best, most dramatic video game openings i've ever seen. even better than the intro to bioshock 2, but tha'ts okay.

  • I'm not alone when I say this, but bioshock is a one amazing benchmark in gaming. Truely amazing ideas and extreme imagination went into this game and it's the best £40 I spent

  • I love the way he talks here, its vintage 50s authority figure, fully of ham and cheese. Too bad it doesn't stay that way the whole game.

  • When I first played it I didn't want to leave the elevator I was so scared!! I had to get my big sister to sit with my while I played it coz I got so frightened! It's so AWESOME!!

  • WOULD YOU KINDLY REPLY TO THIS COMMENT

  • k D:

  • @TheAussie00 lol

  • dammit I was gonna say that!

  • @mrbitters I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR

  • @mrbitters two years, and it finally happened.

  • Man, I love how the music goes from typical, cheery low quality tune to a goosebump-inducing HD surround sound orchestral.

  • I love Andrew Ryan's dialogue at the beginning

  • Omg on my class list their is a kid named Andrew and another named Ryan, and when our teacher does atendance it goes Andrew, Ryan and I still laugh every time

  • i think wat they meant by breathtaking was that they havent seen that kind of atmosphere in a game before.

  • Well, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT TO SEE IN AN UNDERWATER CITY???? A unicorn? Tinkerbell? dragons? Plus, well if you wanted this scene to be spectacular, then why the FUCK would you look up this scene???

  • i know i sound stupid but can somebody explain his speech to me pleeeease :) what does he mean the sweat to his brow?

  • You know, your hard work, dedication.

    Through hard work comes sweat.

  • Ryan is obsessed with the idea of being a self made man, beleiving that no one has the right to order you around or take from you what they haven't earned simply because 'its for the greater good'

  • *nod*. The reason rapture failed is because Ryan discarded morality, and without a basic sense of morality, society cannot exist.

  • @weldonwin

    "the greater good"

  • the work YOU, yourself, produce. It doesn't belong to anyone else but yourself, but you can give it freely to others at your disgression. A drop of philosophy and an ocean of experience goes far, friend.

  • this game was freakin scary

  • great part of the game

  • Ahh, this truly is an epic scene. Thanks for posting it in HQ. ;3

I remember the beginning really freaked me out. XD When the lights are all flashy and the splicer says 'Is it someone new?...' I was actually mumbling to myself 'Don't notice me. Don't notice me. For GODS SAKE PLEASE don't notice me.'

    *facepalm*

  • Yeah... I got that same thing too. Until later in the game where I realized that if you die, there's no real penalty and is more like just a little annoying.

  • that song - under the sea - ironic and perfect for this game

  • uhh! you figured it out!!!

  • Okay guys, I will go on record and say I freaking LOVE Bioshock. I have played it twice now and am trying to beat it on survivor, so I really like the game. But this guys has a valid point. The actual ocean through the window isn't that greatly detailed, the atmosphere is totally there, but actual resolution and texture wise it isn't. I really didn't care one way or another because it was such a great game, but don't vote down comments that are just non-aggressive criticism, would you kindly?

  • i agree competly

  • um, first, its knew, not new. Secondly, good for you doing your research, that kinda ruins the surprise, so that's a decent excuse. I rented the game first, didn't get the box and had no prior knowledge... that's what the rental was for.

  • It's breathtaking because you descend to Ryan's great speech, and all of a sudden, the screen disappears and you see a "busy" metropolis, a utopic city under the sea, it's just such a mind bogglingly unexpected, and extremely welcome sight, and the attention to detail the developers used is perfect, from old movie to flickering neon lights to bubbles traveling to surface.

  • "Is it someone new?" "HUAHHHH!" omg that freaked me out so much the first time!!!

  • I think I know why the plane crashed.

There was a gun in his present.

There was "would you kindly..." written on the card.

    You figure the rest out.

  • Ah that makes sense now :p

  • @GaldonEyeStudios LOLOLOLOL you think we didn't get this?

  • @Weinertastic There must have been a few who couldn't. I mean, come on. This is the Internet we're talking about.

  • da tweekaz - rapture =D!!!!

  • yea i always love that little monologue speech that ryan says im sure we will see alot more of them and that one in Bioshock 2

  • not really... Andrew Ryan is dead, dead men don't give speeches anymore...

  • *laughs* or so we all think, remember this game has jack being revived by the vita-chambers and the vita chambers only work with andrew ryan's DNA right? which explains jack being able to be revived but what about andrew ryan?....*mystery!?!?*

  • maybe he will be in bioshock 2 , that would be damn cool

  • This game has awesome cut scenes. Lovin it.

  • great. thanks for the post
