MSI GX 623 problem

[FIX] I myself own MSI GX623 and yes, I have experienced this problem too.I struggled with this problem for about a year but I finally found a solution. So here it is:

1. Download a program called MSI Afterburner (you can find it at MSI website)

2. Run it. Reduce Core Clock (Mhz) to 600 and Memory Clock (Mhz) to 700.

3. Apply these settings. Don't exit the program. It must be running while you're playing the game.

4. Run any game you want. It won't crash anymore.

@wiggoBoy nad why settle for something less when you can just send it in for repairs? heck i payed alot of money for it when i bought it i wont settle for nothing else than 100% out of it

@siralexu well it's you choice I just posted a solution for those who don't want to fight MSI. It would be pain in the ass to get my laptop completely fixed by MSI where I live because there are no MSI agencies here and I don't think that ordinary repair shops would handle it.

Problem is GPU. It's just a higher clocked Radeon 4650. These lazy assess didn't overclock it properly so only option for me is that method.

Honestly, I haven't noticed any changes in gaming using that method.

It is necessary to say thanks to MSI. My GX623 was changed to GE620DX. Main specifications - CPU: Intel Core i5 – 2410M VGA: NVIDIA Geforce GT555/2GB DDR3 HDD: 750GB RAM: 4GB.

GE620DX is very powerful machine. So at the moment I am very happy. I have not detected any bugs on this PC.

GE620DX has amazing built in speakers certified by THX. Sound is great.

At At the moment I have problem with display mountings. And I had sent it second time to warranty service, this time answer was “Item Name: MSI NB GX623X Bad VGA. MSI can't provide original vga. manufacturer can provide vga, which has about 1500 points less in 3D Mark. Client agree to repair?”

So I am waiting for MSI answer on this problem.

The problem @ MSI laptops is the GPU and CPU cooling, i had 3 Laptops from MSI and all 3 had cooling problems. a 1,5" fan isnt enough for this powerfull parts. i will never buy an MSI laptop!

I have the damn same problem. Everytime i play Delta Force Extreme, my GX623 overheats.

nu stiu daca mai raspunzi, ti-am dat PM si pe mygarage, mi-au zis ca l-au testat 6 ore si nu s-a manifestat problema, sa le dau PW sa intre in OS si sa testeze pe bune jocul ?

So I hope that MSI will offer real solutions on this problem. I am using also cooling pad, and it is not appropriate to give advice: “Be sure, that cooling system is not covered”.

Me to was that problem. To fix it: Update your Bios But in service he replace VGA card

@chavellomelo they either didnt switch it cause they couldn't duplicate the eror or they switched it out with another card with the same problem and didnt bother to test it

Hey, have the same problem, sending my laptop to warranty next week, but I have a question: if they will replace the gpu, will this problem repeat again?

@MrLemonAsus it shouldnt they replaced mine back it runs fine for the most part just be sure they swap the gpu with another hd 4670 with the same problem

Exact aceeasi problema o am si eu acuma, daca fac underclock de vreo 30 MHZ la gpu si video memory totusi merge cam vreo juma de ora. Nu prea am chef sa il trimit in garantie ca nu stiu cat dureaza si daca imi spun ca nu are nimic.....

@lexsanderz poti folosi acest video ca dovada sau sa filmezi si tu acelasi lucru eu l-am trimis in service la pcgarage dar ei ml-au trimis direct la importator unde a durat 15 zile si asta numai dupa ce i-am batut eu la cap in ultima zi sa aflu ce se mai intampla cu el

i have same problem.it's currently on warranty fixup, i hope they put there a new graphics card.at the beginning i thought it's due the heating problems cuz my laptop cores were both about 86 degrees.

Same problem, spend few days searching for a fix , and found it, the thing was that gpu frequency is always jumping , so i used rivatuner to fix frequency in one band(i underclocked it a bit) and that fixed the problem :)

I have the same problem you just need to lower down the settings abit.

@Magnuz0 it was a defective gpu also lowering settings did not help because it would do the same even in some shitty games games like trackmania which even work on my netbook with integrated intel gpu

Salut. Am si eu un laptop identic, am aceeasi problema... eu cred ca este de la supra-incalzire, asa ca mi-am luat un cooler sub, a ajutat, dar nu foarte mult... imi face asa la mai multe jocuri gen gta4 (am resusit sa-l fac intr-un final, cu setari din Ati Catalyst), fallout 3, colin mcrae dirt, crysis. in rest majoritatea jocurilor noi le duce bine. Apropo.. ce Windows ai? Eu rulez pe XP sp3... daca ai rezolvat problema, sau ai niste sfaturi... anunta-ma te rog :)...reply!

@manabog tot de la pcgarage l-am cumparat si eu cand era 3300ron dar sincer nu merita atata este extrem de problematic si acuma dupa ce l-am bagat in service odata prima zi dupa ce l-am primit si dupa ce au schimbat placa video mi-a facut lafel intr-un amarat de joc trackmania nations pana acuma mi-a mai facut doar de 2 ori din intr-o luna pe deasupra tasteaza aleator de unu singur cum am scris si la comentari fiind extrem de enervant cand scri mult cand joci faci actiuni de nu doresti

@eNkorr dude srsly? take a look at the msi forums yourself i just posted right after you post about powerplay and as you say its the card's fault nothing else bad bios, simple fact before they switched it it ran like crap with or without powerplay after the switched it runs like a champ with or without powerplay so explain that?

@pogi2st no need you just have to send it in for repairs where you bought it from they should switch out the graphics card and it should be good as new

@LittleDefeatertemps were high cant remember how much but high anyways this was a demonstration video for the shop where i got the computer from to see before i send my notebook into service but from hat ive read on the msi forums its a common problem with this model and it suffers from ghost keystrokes to meaning it types by itself sometimes
