We were on patrol i was side guard for our patrol an a iraqi kid ran out of a ruined building an ran toward us an peterson my platoon buddy went to the kid but when he got close the kid ran away but the kid dropped a m1 grenade i didnt see the explosion but some of the shrapnel hit me. I lost my best friend since middle school but ill keep fighting for my country. Semper Fi.
