OH! Thank you very much! This tips are great :) in a month or so I will do my TOEFL Exam, I am from mexico and I have problems with understand what are asking me :D this tips are great, I wil try to do it with fluid and clearly speak :D!!!
this is a good video, i congratulate you mr. steve ford you help us, the young students what we've got and what we don't have to do when we do the toefl test it is gonna help me to pass the toefl test, but the only thing i've got to improve is my ideas in english because when i'm speaking i speak well but there's a moment where i can´t find any word to state my ideas that's something that gets me angry because i would like to improve my fluency, can you help me with that? thank you very much.
well Sir, I've one problem with me and it's that whenever I get myself preparing for something, I strive hard for that, put my all power to it but when it comes to speaking to the Audience, I feel myself speaking in riddles.
while on the other hand if smthing I know already that i don't need to work on it much more, I perform v.well. problem is I can't know everything beforehand. I don't know how to get rid of my this deficiency. Plz Sir i'm looking for your guidance.
@kashifanaz Hi, I give some advice about being 'tongue-tied' in my 'Learning English TV - Lesson 4'. Please watch that and I hope the advice there will help to build your confidence in speaking. You are not alone so don't worry.
This is a great way to learn English. I've tried to speak correctly to my friends, they speak faster...sometimes I get nervous, I think that is my problem!!!
I'm peruvian and I love this channel on youtube, it's very helpful.
OMG, the part about faking it soooooo funny!!! LOL! so funny and yet so true! Thank you for sharing you time and knowledge with the rest of the world :) I have a question, what is the difference between "with regard to" and "with regards to"?
he he he he very funny after washing this vid I will stop to pretend that I am an English native speaker, becasuse I like to pretended that I am an English native speaker. You're very perfect English teacher, thank you very much.
I understand everything what you're saying because your specch is very cleary but when I'm watching cnn or bbc it's more difficult. They speak very fast and use a lot of idioms. is it possible to speak like an American after 1 year or less of hard english learning ??? It's my dream :)
It is true that politics and religion are taboo topics but from my experience, they certainly help you to really know and undersand people in just minutes!!
First of all , thank u so much for these nice tips, let me comment on something ,u have mentioned in ur video right now ,yeah that's true that some people try to speak like native speakers ,so they are speaking too fast ,i saw this while i was taking course in accounting , it was in English,so some times i can't understand them ,but i can understand my own teacher,by the way i can't understand british people while they' re speaking on the contrary the American people, i dunno why??anyways thx
@PrivateEnglishPortal you have a great way to teach language and i must say you are the one who created my interest in this test. thanks very much for all these efforts!
Steve, Thanks for the tips. I am meant to be taking the TOEFL ibt yesterday but I wasn't able to show up as I was asked to work instead. I am trying to find other date that I could possibly do it.
てかしってることやれっていうより知ってること増やせって言ったほうがいいのでは? I suppose you should say "Try to brush up your skill of English and improve what you know further" rather than you say try to do what you know.
Thanks a million Mr. Steve. I have only problem with reading. Can you Please make a program for me which teaches techniques of reading. Please make it within this week end. inform me when it's ready.
My name is soheil, your new eager student from Persia.
Thank you for your ir Canada's English teacher! We do this for the non-national Englishen to people who can not find the treasure. English standard Mandarin! This study it is worth secrets! Englishen all non-state friends
Thank you for the tips. They are really useful! It may be really difficult for people like me, who dont have enough expierence and thereby can't broach subjects like politics and religion.
thanks! actually i need more information about that!! i going to take toelf in june so i want to be able to understand everything! i am in USA! Y I NEED more classes! please!
Thanks for all your feedback!!! It's been especially great since you are not only interested in the contest but also the video content which for me is a labour of love.
Doing the TOEFL videos is particularly difficult since the test is always changing and has moved its focus away from grammar to the way native speakers actually use English.

Hi Steve,
Glad to know that you're one of the evaluator. No, which one of this would you score highest in speaking section.
i. Speaking softly yet faster than ever.
ii. Speaking loudly but slowly, or
iii. speaking softly and slowly?
By the way, assuming that those three was fluent in their speaking.
