Aired on the episode that may have ended Cowboy Bebop, where the characters had a philosophical reflection on the states of the then-world, commenting on student violence and other such matters.
The borders of the day disappear. Watches are thrown away. Towns are always grey. Climbed to the top of the roof... ...practiced flying with my imagination. Regret the loss of when I flew without fear. A siren that echoes within my body. Look at the people who gave up everything. It may happen to me tomorrow. Wealth is about to disappear. Keep down the rising tears. Don't want to open those eyes anymore. The light I saw when I closed my eyelids... I am looking for it alone. Alone.
The thinning outlines of truth... The fight between the threatening uneasiness and hope is even. The illusion of Tokyo can't be seen through. If you're fooled, you're lost. These old wings like long ago... ...worried and don't know that they'll work. But I embrace the dream of dancing in the air. That life has two possibilities. Ah, I'm worried about the sky and can't sleep. I can't even pretend to sleep. Not any more.
The real world. I can't leave it up to other people. After I count to three and look up... A great sky that takes your breath away. Please come back. One, two, three One day the sky from that time will be taken back. All those who are lost form a ring all night. We talk and can't forget. We want to laugh off the upside down days. A vivid hope that I've never seen before. This is an ambition hidden in a strong heart. Let's run away to the boundless blue world. Now, let's fly to the real sky. end
This song played on that episode where Bebop was, in its original Japanese format (ironically) going to be cancelled due to all of the violence seen in the series right? At a time where Japan was supposedly suffering increased school violence or something like that?
I often allow myself to be at Peace sometimes in the quiet of night to sit by my computer alone and allow my soul to cry if I need to while listening to this song. I may not have had a more livid experience in my life.
We all have our own "weight" to carry in our lives. We'll make it though.
I remember listening to this at the end of that one Cowboy Bebop episode. Pretty fucking awesome. Even though I have no idea what it talks about, not many people have watched this show.
This song in an odd way kinda feels like an overall theme of Bebop, even if this is, at least in my memory, the only rap in the series. I think it is just me. Bebop does have better songs.
As great of a song this is/was, I can't see it fitting anywhere in the entire series except for Mish-Mash Blues. Maybe the problem Japan had with this show was necessary for this song to exist.
Oh, that's why I never heard this song in the show. It was on an episode that isn't actually part of the series. At least one that I never knew about until now.
The song is fucking dope. If you got the "Hero to the S.Z." album, hit me up! I've been looking for it for the longest. My e-mail is 87stickupkid@gmail.com
This song is the Episode Session XX from Cowboy Bebop. They only ever showed it once and it was a recap episode and it was played at the end. Although, the group who did it, Shakkazombie, they did some songs for champloo.
@mynervesaredead it was both cowboy bebop and samurai shamploo...and there was another anime which had this song in the credits, since all 3 animes were made by the same person
@mynervesaredead That would make sense, considering that Samurai Champloo was done by the same guy who made Bebop. They could very well have recycled it.
@mynervesaredead This was in the credits to episode XX Mish-mash blues....see at one time japan was blaming a problem they had with violence in the schools on television shows, so cowboy bebop got canned, so xx was like one of those filler episodes that just recounts what happened in the show. But since even filler for CB is genius it shows the events more from a philsophical view. At the end of the show it said that the real cowboy bebop would be back someday....hahah just watched it.
@mynervesaredead one of the members of this group Tsuchie was featured in a lot of the Samurai Champloo songs with Nujabes and Fat John and Force Of Nature- also in the soundtracks.... check out Samurai Champloo Music Record - Impression or Departure or Playlist or Masta..... pretty sure Tsuchie from Shakkazombie is in all those soundtracks... hope this helped- just thought that might be why you thought Shakkazombie was in Samurai Champloo.
I was wondering if you could send me that song off of the Bebop Mish Mash episode. I have been looking for it for years but I was never able to find it. The album it was released on is basically out of print as far as I know.

Here are the lyrics for the song, taken from the subs in the Mish-Mash Blues episode.
Brawls05 3 months ago
The sky is taken.
Tomorrow is broken.
A darkness that eats into hearts is born.
Dreams are withered.
All are uneased.
Ah, who knows the whereabouts of the sky?
Tell me.
The birds, the clouds, and I
lose a place to go.

@Brawls05 you used to many words. Here's a shorter, easily-more cliche version:
You're gonna carry that weight.
