In a vet office im sitting there with a bear while everyone else is starring at me, one old lady asks me why i have the bear in the place, i tell her he ate some bad human organs, i ask her why er kitten was in there, she said wtf is wrong with you....lol
The sad thing is he will not be able to mate and know what it is like to be a real bear in the wild. He won't be able to fight for territory or a mate. If you put him into the wild as he is now, he would possibly be killed.
@Xaltus I think that if his caretaker were to pass away before the bear does, no one would know what to do with the bear as there is obviously an emotional and trusted bond formed over many many years between the two. Introducing another applicable caretaker would be too risky for the caretaker. So what options would they have? Either release him to the wild, put him in a zoo or private captivity, or lynch him.
@mexistache760 good idea, but their just too big to live with. Would cost a fortune to feed and house them. But its still cool if we could have the resources to have a pet bear.
@ps3animalfunds EXPLAIN TO ME IF YOU WOULD HOW YOU CAME TO THIS CONCLUSION. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO YOUR THOUGHTS ON ANY SUBJECTS INCLUDING GOD. I'M OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS.
He is right you know, bears are very emotional...like 13 year old on her period emotional..and eventually he will be hurt by the bear and because of this man the bear will be killed.
@elrith1 I hate to say this but you're right - the risk is always there when dealing with originally wild animals. Their instincts can take over when least expected.
Still, this video is extremely cool! I do hope that Casey and Brutus will be old dudes together.
awww, cute bear.he is friend with grizzly.animals arent bad.got to respect them.but as you can see on this and many other videos on youtube.ppl can be friends with bear,lynx,cougar...just have to know how to treat them and have to respect them and if you deserve they will accept you.Not everyone can pet these animals, some ppl cant take care of dogs.man wasnt born with dog as pet,we had to get to know them first too.i would like to pet something "exotic" too but im not sure i could handle it
Usually, a wild animal in captivity would still retain its wild animal instincts. But this bear...it acts more pet than wild animal. But hey, I don't mind. If Anderson knows what he's doing, then I'm sure he'll be fine.
It's shameful thing that some people would shoot such a magnificent animal just for "sport," and I use that term loosely. Hunters are the real monsters, not the bears. We need MORE natural predators in the wild, not fewer.
That would be cool but I would never trust the bear 100%. They killed me so many times in Red Dead Redemption, and I have seen them go crazy at the zoo.
"and today brutus's animal instincts kicked in...he stole guests turkey at thanksgiving...he slaughtered people at my wedding. Its so wonderful my wife left me because now I can spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Until he turns on me"
@Salvus967 and a pet dog is capable of killing its owner aswell and it does occasionally happen doesnt always mean its going to this bear will unlikely kill him somebody else now thats more likely
Amazing how many people believe they live ina Disney movie "Animals are humans in fursuits! It's just that they have a different culture!" AMAZING. COGNITIVE LEVEL = -10
"He's my friend, he likes having a birthday and celebrating bullshit holidays, he also cried that one time so I know he has real feelings like humans" = "I have a fantasy and it is real because I say so!!"
It's really neat and all. But the guy who cares for the bear, Casey, has to remember that Grizzly Bears are not domesticated animals. Deep inside that bear lies the foundations of instincts, one wrong mistake could set that bear off to either critically injure or kill someone. This guy seems to not understand this by his naive way of viewing a 'tear'. Remind you tears as an emotional state is exclusive to human beings. Tears in general are for lubrication of the eyes in the animal kingdom.
@Nigralurker Well that goes exactly the same way as a dog, sure it's 'domesticated' but "deep inside lies the foundations of instincts". That bear has grown up with humans, if you read the description it says he never lets other people come into physical contact with the bear.
Difference is, is that dog's have been domesticated over a period of 10,000-14,000 years. You do understand what domestication means right? The slow process of breeding favorable traits over numbers of generations. Dogs are predictable, we bred them over time to be a human pet, this bear however isn't the product of tens-hundreds of generations of trait bred bears. It's a wild bear under captivity.
@Nigralurker takes about 20 generations to domesticate. but that is a pretty friggen cool bear.. You could feel confident leaving your house unlocked with him around.
@soggywallet He never let's other people come into physical contact with the bear? If you look at 0:34, he let his own fucking wife stand next to the bear you dumbass.
@VaughnAndCompany Well they would most likely call Animal Control which in turn would come and take him away using tranquilizer guns to put him to sleep and carry him off in a truck to a zoo or wild life exhibit lol.
@mahballzrhari troll? do you even know what that means. It was a joke you absolute spastic. in fact by definition of this SLANG word your comment makes you a troll. What a twat you are
What about Charla Nash who got her face ripped off by a sweet pet chimp? He was just in a bad mood that day. He was a wonderful pet for many years. No one thought he would do that. He is a wild animal....you cant take the wild out of an animal.
The bears instincts will take over someday. You will see. I have have raised wild animals before. They dont have the thought process to stop inpulse like humans do.Just Wait, the bear will be in a bad mood someday and accidently kill someone. You need to do research!
