  • NO YOUR WRONG SIR WRONG SIR!!

  • i am a agrad student in paleontonlogy and i know this video is a few years old but there would be no way of telling of how smart a raptor could be. You can read that they were stupid or that they were smart but the truth is they are all gust diffrent theorys. Also raptors were built to be able to jump great distances, thatwas the main way the hunted lager prey (jumping on the back and going for the neck).

  • @jurassicboy96 well you got to understand that smart by dinosaur standards is like a mentally retarded chicken for todays standards (possible hyperbole, but barely, you get the point)

  • Enjoyed it - Earth Sciences Grad Student!

  • good thing its just a movie eh!!! fuck i hate ppl that brake down every detail and stress on how its unrealistic.. dont ya got a life to go to er something??

  • Ok people get over it..Its a movie...Not real...But it was a good movie

  • I am in no way saying that Jurassic Park was legit, but I just did a 10 page paper on raptor claws. One of the theories for why the two foot claws are freakin huge is so that they could climb large herbivores, presumably to get to their necks. This is supported by the fact that Deinonychus has been found several times associated with Tenontosaurus (pretty big iguanodontid) bones. So while they probably wouldn't have wanted to bother a large predator by jumping on, they probably could.

  • ¿? yes

  • as a geologist i would like to point out that it is the ultimate insult to be called a geographer.

  • As a geologist, I would like to point out that there's nothing with being a geographer.

  • mmm bad

  • not that good sorry

  • There's this new thing we all have. It's called adaption. The Velociraptor would have been smart enough to open a door. Raptors are intelligent. But you are right about the size and jumping on T-rex's back.

  • that is the stupidest thing i have ever read! Why would a raptor be adapted to be able to open doors? There were no doors when it was evolving!

Raptors were likely scavengers or hunted small prey, and would have had SOME intelligence to be able to outsmart their prey. They would have been adapted to thinking about smells and sounds, not mechanical operations.

  • Ever heard of fast learner?

  • exactly my point. they were not adapted to learning, they were adapted to hunting/finding prey. If they were hunting intelligent animals, like modern mamals or humans, they would have evolved the ability to learn.

but seing as they were hunting dinosaurs, which had tiny brains, and can be assumed to be stupid by modern standards, they did not need to learn, rather to respond to common behavioural patterns of their prey.

  • and in any case, predators do not hold a grudge. it is absurd that they would expend so much energy hunting down a tiny meal like a human. They would have saved their energy and hunted easier, and less dangerous prey.

  • hmm your funny, but its called fiction

  • As a geologist, i find this pretty funny...but no mention of minerals (single tear). I guess he's more of like a Paleo-Environmental guy, but still.

  • gud video,, but lil bad editing

  • how did you make this??

  • lmao

  • I love this video.

"You're ruining the movie, you geographer!"
