@LoveDessay You have shivers. I don't. But this is at least the fifth time I've listened to this and every time about 1.40 my eyes start filling up and by the end my face is wet. I don't know if it is her musicality combined with the wonderful Met orchestra, or if it is Natalie's acting ability coming through, conveying emotion. Not bad for a comic genius.

Oui.. C'est très connu que les chanteur truc leurs voix en direct devant lus de 2000 personnes !! Mais tes con ou quoi? Dessay est la plus grande de toutes!!

bien sûr que non, Dessay est une cantatrice exceptionnelle dans... Lakmé, Zerbinette ou autres sopranos légers. Là Juliette est un très très large soprano lyrique dramatique... et comme dans Traviata où Dessay a frisé le ridicule, celle-ci n'est pas à sa place. Mais au disque on fait des miracles. Croyez moi, sa première juliette au met fut un calvaire... Voir la sublime Anna Netrebko pour écouter ce que chanter Juliette est... et J'adore Dessay !

Là il va falloir vraiment renouveler sa discothèque !!!! surtout quand on est fan visiblement de Sills comme vous ! Freni, Netrebko (à voir sur scène hallucinant), Malfitano (au-delà du réel), Swenson (sincère), Anderson (88 en concert avec plasson Toulouse à tomber raide)... et j'en passe. Dessay fait en studio un excellent travail aidé par des micros bienveillants, surtout dans cet air souvent coupé à la scène (Gheorghiu l'évite toujours et ne le chante jamais...). Salutations.

I saw this opera in 2005, and it was broadcast in March of 2006.  This recording came from the March broadcast in 2006. :-)

Well she performed the opera at the Met in both 2005 and 2006. This performance was on March 4th, 2006. I remember listening to the broadcast (that would be the third time I heard this production live!). So you're right that she sang this role in 2005 as well. :-) I like your Youtube name! I should extract more from the recording. Maybe I'll post the final duet.
