What he does with those bass piano keys in this piece should be rated X! He adds something to this no one else does. I just love everything he does... such passion!
What a load of crap. Just what does "surgically delicate" mean anyway? Your opinion relfects your stupidity, phoniness and ignorance. You're an idiot and don't understand music, never mind Chopin or Pogorelich.
@townsendjean I'm sure you do not even play an instrument. I've been playing for 19 years. What credibility can you offer us that reflects your mastery of piano performances?
What's that? You don't have any? You say you're just a waft of hot air and nothing more? That's what I had originally thought. Thank you for the confirmation. I agree with yenrabaraho: you do not understand the music or Chopin. Spend less time on YouTube comments and more time honing your nonexistent musical skill.
@townsendjean I am speaking for myself: you have a serious inferiority complex. Keep it in check. Restrict your inane ramblings to political videos that you seem to be so enamored with.
@Kaggypants "serious inferority complex?" ... what utter nonsense! Calling out pogo-man for the artistic fraud he is, no question, hardly warrants this childish huffy rebuke. As for your gratuitous snarky counsel,
@townsendjean "Pogo-man"? How childish. Address him by his proper name or do not address him at all.
There are plenty of questions and answers. One, you have no credibility whatsoever. Two, nothing you have stated actually defines why you believe Ivo Pogorelich is a 'fraud' of a pianist. You simply take this to be a given. In fact, many people here disagree completely. Maybe you should look up the word fallacy on Google as it seems to have slipped past your feeble mind during your adolescence.
@Kaggypants Look you supercilious idiot, I have my opinion about pogo-man and have expressed it.
I think he’s a hack and vastly over-rated as evidenced by this lacklustre performance of an exceptionally beautiful Chopin prelude. All your silly ranting and raving isn’t going to change that.
@townsendjean You've also been beaten thoroughly in an argument where you've not only shown your true asinine nature (and, thus, have discredited your own opinion) but have used many generic fallacies most commonly exhibited by your average teenager.
Let me make this clear for you since you don't seem to have a grasp on what is going on: you're done here. Move along you insignificant piece of garbage and let those of us who truly understand music and Chopin listen to this wonderful performance.
@Kaggypants I grasp entirely what’s going on here. You’re a supercilious twit and officious fool who has an exaggerated sense of self-importance who imagines he owns this board somehow, and naively expects others to heed his nonsense. pogo-man would be proud, I’m sure! lol! The two of you make a bumbling pair.
@townsendjean More wafts of hot air and nothing more. That pretty much summarizes your existence in the comments section of this video. I'd go on to say it probably extends to your overall existence but I'm sure you have some redeeming qualities...somewhere.
Maybe you're exceptionally gifted at moving your ears back and forth like a Pierrot. That would certainly explain a great deal.
Clearly you are the one needing a hearing aid adjustment. Chopin would turn in his grave at the hack-job rendering here, no question. Pogo-man is vastly over-rated as an artist, especially when it comes to Chopin.
Stunning - the greatest interpreter of Chopin. Pogorelich always makes a statement with his playing. This is my favourite Prelude. In Pogo's hands it never fails to bring me to tears. Wonderful.
tempo eccezionalmente corretto per un genio imprevedibile come Pogorelich e grande attenzione al fraseggio: secondo me una delle interpretazioni migliori, insieme con quella di Askenhazy
THis is my favorite Prelude, and this is my favorite performance of it; it has a beguiling simplicity under Pogorelich's hands, and his tempo is perfection. He gave us the greatest ever recording of all the Chopin Preludes, fortunately when he was at the peak of his powers. This pianist was a staggering genius.
@PalenieNieZabija Don't you know that Pogorelich is now playing in an insane fashion, distorting the music he plays to the point where it is no longer recognizable? Listen to how he now butchers the Rachmaninov ASecond Piano Concerto and Second Piano Sonata, for example.
He soooo rocks the bass in this... He performs it like no one else. Hands down... my fave performance of this piece.

Speak for yourself!
btw the pogo-man clearly doesn't understand Chopin, something I'm sure you'll never fathom.

This interpretation is excellent, good balance, good expression, surely Chopin would give it a very high grade!
