Those are some sexy behind-the-beat sixteenths, my man! I also love the free, outside minor seventh arpeggios. This reminds me of Tom Coster's best stuff. Keep 'em coming~
Ahh, the old pentatonic scale. haha You're conversing with a self-taught organist. Isn't the Pentatonic scale basically 6th chords? As in the key of C, for example, the scale would be C E G A C? Am I even close?
A side note: You mention having worked with a Marty Greenburg. I live in Toledo and know a Marty Greenburg quite well. He's an electronics technician here in town and also a very fine bassist; there can't be two, can there? Just curious.
@bnelson218 As for the pentatonic scale, you're close. There are Major and Minor pentatonics. In this I use a lot of C Minor pentatonic which is C-Eb-F-G-Bb.
Excellent lesson design here. Got a question. for ya. I have never heard any organ, nor organ plug in ever sound like Walter Wanderley's sound. Ever. Have you? I hear he played B-3, but I never heard one sound like him.
hey man play this back using vnc player and slow it down with the left hand parentheses buttons on your qwerty keyboard.first download and save it with the free app called Freeyou tube download (free)
Nice playing. How long did it take you to learn to play? I was wondering what would be the cheapest organ and is there a Hammond that is a like a regular keyboard? If you could check out this song Bokker T Cool Dude and if you could tell me if thats a Hammond? Thank you

thanks for posting this- i'm studying jazz chord structure for some electronic music productions i'm in the process of writing. the feed from your monitor at the top helps immensely.
Damn it.. why don't we guitarists have masters like you on youtube! I mean.. there are some extraordinary talents that's for sure.. but what you, 7notemode and jazz2511 are doing is a unique blessing. There's definitely a lot to learn! Despite instrumental differences :)
sounds neato, some drum fills done by a real drummer would've complemented ur playing, but not too bad for a drum loop, same with a real bass player...maybe you can do another version of this song with your band? it would sound great
Dope. There's a great B3 combo out of Boston called Fats Hammond and they play this. I used to go see them for free every Tuesday. Kenny Clarke's left hand basslines are astounding. So funky. They got some Youtube vids that are cool

As for Marty - one in the same. ;-)

You do a fine job. Could you explain your run at 1;25 into the song? I really like the intervals. Bruce
bnelson218 6 months ago
@bnelson218 Playing a pentatonic scale outside of the tonal key. For example plating an E Major pentatonic when the tonal center is Bb Major.

For a guy who doesn't profess to be a B3 player, you do very well !
This example is full of great harmonic stuff. Some of you who are learning out to pick up on this.
