So Archimedes is supposed to be this great seer, but he can't foresee that if he grabbed his crap and got out of there he'd be able to finish his prophecy AND not be stabbed.... Not the guy I'd trust my future to.
It seems like the makers of this movie done fucked up fundamentally when they tried to mix historical people and places with a fantasy story. Also, look, it's that dude who played the evil butler in Titanic and voiced so many forgettable Saturday morning cartoon villains. And I think Mr. Fakebeard played Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter movies, but I may be mistaken there. At this point, I'm wondering if Alan Rickman is going to show up.
Also, hold on one goddamn second. Tee is from England, which is evidently not where they are now. So where the Hell are they where everybody speaks English?
Also, why didn't Tee think there was something odd about a beggar speaking several different languages earlier on? Don't most beggars barely speak half a language?
And, what, there's a prophecy about a chosen one? I thought the Delta Knights were about knowledge and science, not superstition and magic.
@EponymousKid As bad as this movie is, that's one of the things that is actually accurate. We have this strange idea nowadays that good education and intelligence automatically rules out superstition and magic. The separation during the Middle Ages and Renaissance was not so clear. Heck, even Isaac Newton was an alchemist and wrote more on alchemy than he did on physics.
Wait, the appearance of a beggar allows him to move around freely? Pretending to be a disease-ridden slave driving bum allows him access into... anywhere?
Or does he mean like traveling? Are derelicts known for their wanderlust?
Okay I get the point of keeping your code for agents to identify each other simple and making sure it doesn't sound like a code, but really, how many Delta Knights have been killed because some one bumped into a snarky peasant?
@glasfurd31 Well, 'eureka' is Greek for "I have found it"; so if he had discovered something new, it's very likely he would have said that...although he wouldn't likely have stripped down to nothing. :)
They pretty much lifted the whole Archimedes story from the fall of Syracuse, except that it was a calculus problem that Archimedes was working on when the Roman soldier killed him.
"He bats eighth." Nice, the worst place in the order -- at least the guy who bats ninth is usually the pitcher, but the guy who bats eighth has no excuse.
You know what would have made a great episode? If the Mads completely switched with Mike, Servo, and Crow, for the entire episode! I wonder if there are any episodes like that.
I swear the boy playing T in this movie is the same boy who runs flailing and screaming from the Sheriff of Rottingham up to the screen in Robin Hood: Men In Tights!!!!
So maybe Mike smokes the occasional cigar....funny I've been waiting to see him smoke for two seasons past! Now I got the answer.
