  • ost?

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The "Tenebrae" theme, and the movie is fantastic! My 2nd favorite Argento film, behind "Suspiria" (1977)

Goblin and Argento go together like Penne and Marinara!

  • I love the cover art!

  • great movie ! argento always knows how people should depart his films :)

  • Justice didn't so much as sample from this as they remixed/rearranged it. "Tenebre (justice remix)" seems like it'd've been a more appropriate title. LIke em' both though... it's just that certain aspects of "phantom" that had I'd previously regarded as signature sounds of justice are fairly present in the original.

  • @gobamnit Totally agree with this. That's more than just sampling here.

  • Hey guess what. The vinyl of Justice-Cross reads "#5 (Phantom) contains samples from the song 'Tenebrae' by Goblin". THEY GAVE GOBLIN CREDIT. Get off Justice's ass. When people sample they still have to build a song around the sample. Hence creating new music. Justice made this fucking song into pure listenable gold.

  • In the days when Goblin and Argento made fantastic horror movies.

  • MUTHAFK JUSTICE AND ALL THOSE OTHER THIEVES. They probably saw Deathproof, ripped it from there, like Tarantino rips from EVERYWHERE. It's insulting to mention the Goblins in the same breath as all of those lame-ass bands.

  • @madamgmail Using a sample and making something completely new with it pays homage to something that you love, and it's a very tenuous art form. Real fans of Justice know where the sample came from, and personally it led me to not only discover the Goblins but also this film. I wouldn't say that any of that is a bad thing, would you?

  • @itsdavideo - when you use a sample you are suppose to CREDIT THE ARTIST. I am a big fan of electronic music but I have my limits. I am glad you discovered the Goblins, but you should thank Dario Argento for that, NOT Justice.

  • @madamgmail thats the truth!! i hate this "lame-ass cover-bands". why dont they create some own stuff, cause they cannot create own stuff. its 100000times harder to compose a song than to sample it

  • @krautsocke: I totally agree with you. It's sad to think that someone would ever think that Justice did anything new to this particular Goblin track when all they did is rip it off-it's so insulting and I hope the Goblins sued them.Justice knows their audience basically knows jack about music while Justice and many like them, troll artistic avenues looking for it's next victim: "they used snippets because they admired the sound" people are fkn putridly insane with their self-entitlement.

  • Justice... not daft punk... sampled it. They didn't copy it. They used little snippets because they admired the sound.

  • Daft Punk copied this song-what a a bunch of faggots

  • @Ehiguy102 Daft Punk copied this? What the shit are you talking about?

  • i plan on ordering this film

  • Definitely Halloween party jams right here. I'll be dancing to this song all night.

  • @solideowoo listen to phantom by justice, it's basically a house remix of it, good stuff.

  • @wooofums how dare you call justice house?!

  • @kartoffel13 it pretty much is though. It's mainly a mix of disco and house style beats but they definitely have a unique sound.

  • @kartoffel13 because it is house. it is the new French Touch.

  • @wooofums Justice have no ideas, so they steal their ideas from brilliant artists like Goblin. Go watch TENEBRAE, fools. Justice Sucks!

  • "The impulse had become irresistible. There was only one answer to the fury that tortured him. And so he committed his first act of murder. He had broken the most deep-rooted taboo, and found not guilt, not anxiety or fear, but freedom. Any humiliation which stood in his way could be swept aside by the simple act of annihilation: Murder."

  • awesome

  • themusic is haunting more than any other film of argento i think . and it has a touch of giorgio moroder .

  • giorgio moroder freaking out

  • This is awesome! I've been into Justice for a while, so it's cool to see what they sampled from.

  • Love this score. And love the film (rate it 8/10).

  • Grande Dario Argento! E grande Claudio Simonetti!!

  • I wanna cut my hand off my hand, and put my hand in your hand

  • guys, justice paid goblin for the sample and gave them writer's credit and listed them in cross's liner notes. So goblin knew about, and where fine with being sampled.

  • Justice made a remix of Goblin's original tune, in my opinion its really well done compared to alot of remixes out there, this is more progressive and melodic for sure but justice have their own style and it works well, however this song is fickin' addictive...

  • The best horror music group ever.

  • @dansimsss

    Better than The Cramps?

  • That Justice stuff is shit compared to this!

  • wow, iv never herd this before just phantom by justice, but now im starting to think justice covered this song more than creating a new song

  • hmmhab total bock auf bissl chatn wer will der kann sich ja bei mir melden

  • devo dire che si son sprecati i justice

  • Love this song :).

  • for post modern horror films they might as well use the same music score for all of them coz they all sounds the same. This artist/music score is BRILLIANT. If i was composing a horror film music score, the guy who composed this would be my inspiration.

  • This is so awesome. They don't make music like this anymore.

  • I love this more than Suspiria and Inferno and have it on CD. Keep it up, man. Spread the Unholy Sounds or whatever?!

  • Dario Argento's films have the best themes :)

  • Maybe he has:)

  • @OogieBoogie345 GOBLIN!!!

  • wow this is even better than justice. amazing.

  • Truly timeless score for what is easily the best giallo ever made! Tenebre rocks and its soundtrack is amazing!!!!

  • This is great stuff, and what justice did with it is amazing too.

  • Goblin is awesome. I love the movie "tenebrae" as well. One of the last really wellmade Argento movies.

  • This and Phenomena are the BEST Argento movies ever made!

  • Ive only seen the deep red and suspiria dario argento films and thought the music by goblin sounded pretty cool and scary, never seen tenebre but will definately have to check it out, just listening to the soundtrack makes me want to watch it

Immediately recognised this from Justice ''ah, so thats where it is from!'' I like Justice music too, but they definately shouldnt take all the credit from this sample

  • Sampling is an art form, folks, don't be so mad at Justice and those who sample. NOBODY makes anything from scratch, everybody is inspired by someone else's work.

Obviously the ones who sample take a little bit more than the average, but it still is ART!

  • you dont make beats.. i play modal jazz guitar and i find it easier then hooking a good beat together...

ur behaviour is like bashing on disco while everybodys bashing on it although its a style that basically influenced any given music today

  • about 3:33 it starts to sound like Thriller for a second

  • Someone should make a remix with that.

    DO IT!

  • in my opinion, justice modified this enough to make it their own. and it sounds awesome.

  • Its not their own. I make music since about 10 jears. And i dont steal songs and pimp them with effekts some cuts and beats and tell the word its a masterpiece of my own. only the original is the masterpiece. later, everyone can improve a song. but the writer invented the melodies and worked hard for the compositions Justice added only their ideas to the song. hope you understand me ( my english isnt very good)

  • @nabxf Justice have no ideas, so they steal their ideas from brilliant artists like Goblin. Go watch TENEBRAE, fools. Justice Sucks!

  • @nabxf Unfortunately, I have to disagree with you on the Justice version sounding awesome...Its a butchered mess and sounds like very little effort was put into it.

  • @nabxf its never their own as long there r parts from goblin in there. they r just not good enough to create something like this by their own, cause goblin is a band with professional musicans and justice is whatever, i dont know .every dj in every small village can sample songs like this. but please try to create and compose a new song without ripping parts or ideas. thats the art of music. ;-)

  • its excellent , but missing very much Marangolo on Drums , the fourth player of Goblin. He was in Massachussets at this time, learning English...trinking Cocktails..examining the love world of Pott-whales...

  • Who the fuck is Justice??????? A not creatively man that can only sample other songs. Goblin made complicated songs without covering or sampling other peoples stuff. This is the art of music, and not to steal the ideas from bands like goblin! So Justice , why dont you try to make music by your self???

  • exactly

  • Justice - suddenly not as cool.

  • haha also check new jack, and if daft punk are your heros? then think again about some of there songs.

  • excellent Justice.. well done on the sample xxx

  • Wonderful!

  • yay Justice! sweet film btw

  • great track!!!!! thx for upload.......

    SIMONETTI 4 EVER

  • You really got me there. I guess you're dead too since you're too dense to spellcheck the work "utelise". An instrument is musical when it is used to create unique and new music. If I copy and pasted War and Peace would that make me a great author?

I'm sure all the people who would be laughing their asses off are too busy sucking things and dropping X to laugh. Notice how the OP removed their post. It's called a realization, have one.

Stop replying to my post and listen to the real song.

  • Music and literature are 2 different things though.

If it weren't for "sampling" or making slight modifications to an existing theme, Rock, Blues, Hip-Hop, R&B or ANY electronic genre wouldn't really exist.

I love Goblin and I think the Justice version is a very creative and cool use of sampling in electro/house music.

    Go be grumpy elsewhere.

  • Do you make music? is it #1?

if its is it soon won't be, and if its not it will never be. with that attitude.. looser.

  • what is the movie about?

  • A serial killer imitates murders from a book called Tenebre and the author helps the police track the killer down.

  • AH SWEEEET

  • @Joorum wait a minute, you just described the movie Copycat with S. Weaver

  • @mysterymediacorp I like that movie too but I don't remember a book being imitated in that one, hehe =D

  • @Joorum yeah it was ..go back and watch it again, hehe

  • @mysterymediacorp I think it becomes more like a postmodern Giallo, where Argento gets to homage himself and his earlier career. That the author is writing Giallo-like murder-mysteries which are being copied by a killer is almost like Argento recreating his own neo-Giallo based upon his previous work since he never really got out of that sub-genre with the explorations of more fantastical themes in Suspiria and Inferno.

  • 5 volte al cinema!!! troppe?!?!?

  • PAURA!!!

    ;)

  • glad to see some rationality in the comments here

  • i don't see how sampling decreases the validity of justice's talent especially considering the fact that everyone has equal access to pretty much every song ever released these days so why doesn't everyone make music of justice's caliber? unless you've made a CD like Cross and become as famous as successful as justice are and will be, then please be quiet. btw this original version is great and justice turned me on to Golbin, so sampling is a beneficial act.

  • Tenebre is my favorite Argento movie.

  • yes.

  • ummm, guys, JUSTICE remade this song from the early 80s... i know, i'm not 20 something anymore... yes, i love justice too for bringing it back to the near present

  • may you send me the first song via e-mail plz?

  • Bellissima la versione Mix.

  • maravilloso!!!!!

  • There is a track on a mash-up compilation cd I got from a musician friend of mine which has Lady Tigra's Bass on the Bottom mixed with Tenebre. It's a one in a million coincidence I stumbled across this.

  • Ya..that's a DJ Paul V. mashup of Justice's Phantom and The Lady Tigra's Bass on the Bottom. It's on the Best of Bootie 2007 compilation.

  • I have the original soundtrack to THE CHURCH on ebay uk from(top.vision) Bids are up. Collecatable and very RARE.

  • meravigliosacolonna sonora grazie!!!

  • amazing!, the bassist sounds like jaco pastorius.

  • joorum really you have the horror musics ever i search the music

  • Can anyon send me this song?

    And not the Justice version!

  • Is this on limewire to download?

  • Most likely. Didn't get it from there, though.

  • where did u get it from cuz this is cool

  • By doing a torrent search.

  • Also on iTunes.

  • OMFG, this is a huge justice sample. I heard they used over 500 samples for this album, came to check some of them out and im very surprised at what I hear!

  • justice used this in thier album for the track 'phantom pt. II' along with others, uncluding britney spears & madonna.

its no wonder, being produced/managed by Pedre 'busy p' Winter. (he used to manage a little group known as Daft Punk, who ironically also had a habbit of 'burrowing' samples)

  • including* Pedro* srry for the spelling mistakes.

  • Ummmmm, since when has it been a secret that electronic music uses samples? That doesn't make the music any less interesting, or pleasing to listen to.

  • such an awesome soundtrack, especially for a horror movie. the movie's alright, but the soundtrack totally makes it worth watching.

  • Couldn't agree with you more on that, soundtracks make all the difference to a film, you just dont get soundtracks like this anymore, in my opinion all music scores sound the same on horrors now.

  • Sadly, You are 200% right... and the films themselves all look the same too.

  • I agree, its sad but true. Horror for me died in the 90's when we started getting 'post modern' horror.. ok.. most ideas for horror have been done but how about somebody compose a really cool soundtrack for a horror like this one? might make a bit of a difference to some horror film at least.. coz like you say they all look and sound the same now

  • Wow, this actually sounds really modern in itself, what the 4-to-the-floor beat and 707 drums.

  • good stuff :) one of my favourite horror movie soundtracks

  • Phamthoom Part 2 ?

  • No.

  • Phantom Part. 1

  • it's sampled in both parts but this the original ;)

  • Thanks for uploading. Goblin never gets old.

  • True!

  • Why do older synthezeisers sound so much better?

  • One answer:

    Claudio Simonetti

    : )

  • Hahaha.

    Olé!

    U're completely right.

  • Old synthesizers were analogue rather than digital. Because of this, they produced a far richer, warmer sound than today's keyboards. Modern keyboards tend to sound cold and inorganic. The only drawback to analogue keyboards is that they are far heavier (and harder to carry) and can also go out of tune (the solution to that problem is simply by tuning the keyboard with the tuning key on the back)

  • I've been looking for this OST for ages and can't find it. if you wanna trade or if you can provide a link for it I would be most greatfull.

  • Got no links, I sometimes send music to people who I'm in contact with on a regular basis.

  • One of the best soundtracks ever !

It's also one of the best things about the movie, don't get me wrong, the movie is a masterpiece and the soundtrack gave it a boost up

    Thank you for uploading it.

  • You're welcome!

  • this is amazing, Justice version too

    5/5

  • I'm obsessed with this soundtrack / band now. Thank you!!! <3<3<3

  • Goblin sure is worth being obsessed about! :D

  • good tune. justice are thieves of this

  • top film,top music.

  • love it!

  • grande

  • thanks for posting it.

thats amazing! Justice's sample is VERY obvious!

  • love it

  • I adore the kettle drum/bongo-y bit in the middle of the main theme. It's sheer genius! <3 Thanks for a great upload!

  • You're welcome!

  • Bad Ass, thanks for this.

  • Yup.

  • sound like phantom of justice :O

  • Justice sampled this theme

  • The wind from the sub woofer is touching my face in a most erotic and creepy way...

  • This is the ultimate prog rock mind fuck movie

  • Oh yeah!

  • "#"Spoiler"#" I did not like that Peter Neal became the second murder! Why did he became that?

  • Something to do with a past trauma with women. He got screwed up in the head. I dunno.

  • Because this movie is a fucking ultimate mind fuck with the senses and the plot twists drive you absoulely MADDDDDDD!!!!!

  • Great soundtrack for a awesome movie. One of Argento's gems.

  • Thanks for this music, brings back some creepy memories! Goblin's awesome!

Tenebre is so far my favourite Argento movie. Suspiria, for instance, is overrated I think. Tenebre had way more interesting and captivating story, more my kind of film.

  • No problem.

  • Justice Phantom pt 1 jesus christ its like the fucking same song

  • Well this is the sample that they used.

  • come on they freaked the fuck outta it....seriously

  • i just watched this, deep red and phenomena and honestly, i prefer this and phenomena to deep red, i think it is a bit overrated.

  • I think that Deep red is the best of giallo's movies of Argento because the music coordinates very well the scenes and the way Marcus discovers the assasin is very original.

The only overrated film of Argento is Suspiria because it has many mistakes in the plot.

  • Joorum, it seems our tastes run at a parallel! Good to see your name again. Fantastic job. Favorited for sure. Cheers!

  • Cheers, cmarzec1981!

  • I just need to see this film. I watched Profondo Rosso and Suspiria yesterday and I'm really in love with the work of this director. Great eye for camera views, lighting, colours... And unique horror film soundtracks to top it off! And I love the sudden endings Dario creates, he leaves all the "useless" stuff out.

  • Pupukummu, since you are from Finland, I can tell you that you can rent Tenebre from nearly any Videofirma Makuuni-store in this country. Go get it! =)

  • Hmmm... have to check it out, but I still have some kind of a collector syndrome, I just need to get it for myself.

  • Hehe, you're the same as me! If I don't own it, I've never seen it! =)

If you want it on DVD, I could recommend the Anchor Bay tin box set with 5 films (Tenebre included).
