I think this is a victims version. Listen to her sing, there is no angst, but there is an incredible torrent of defeat. This is what comes right before the passion when you finally stand up and say NO.

I am certain she could rip it to shreds as well, but this is a calculated pathetic exhausted treatment.

a very spiritual tip of the hat to kurt. this cut is almost completely selfless. her being an artist who understands what its like to be suddenly thrust into the spot light, she is i believe extremely respectful of kurts song. eerily so.

This is a boring, pointless cover. I suppose they can't all turn out like "Nothing" but she shouldn't have bothered. The Universal Mother record overall is pretty good, this is the worst track.

i think its rather sad that this woman had such a passion to help the abused children but picked such an awfull misguided means of bringing attention to the problem . i suppose her passion and confiction was at the root of a good idea gone terribly wrong.

sorry this version is good, but its nowhere in the relem better than the original. plus the styles of music are so different i would bet that most people arent even fans of both artists. so u really cant compare the 2 versions as 2 which ones better.
