Hi minotauro21 !! Let me tell you that this is by far the best video I have ever seen !! simply amazing ! tell me bro !! what the title and artist of the song !! will appreciate. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work !!
I got Ray in my top 5 pound for pound all time fighters. Very Underated. You know you can watch all the games live at a site called Online-Television-Network. Just Google it up. I use this site.
i truly believe that a prime sugar would ko floyd.floyd is basically sugar with less heart and no KO power.floyd is the most skilled fighter right now but in that era, hagler sugar and hearns wouldve of put floyds lights out
Leonard was way faster, stronger, punched harder and had better defense than mayweather jr. has. Plus leonard fought the best of the era (legends). And back then it was 15 rds and they fought not ran and held. not even close. would be an easy fight for leonard, mayweather has no heart.
I agree with everything except saying Leonard had better defense than Floyd. That is completely ridiculous. Leonard showed good defense when he wanted, but otherwise got caught often, and was never the defensive fighter Floyd is. He was better in every other area though, and would've beaten Floyd for sure.
Its great that you ionclusded that photo with ALi at the end. Sugar Ray was one of my all time favorites, I always thought of him as "lil Ali" . Unfortunately, like Ali he decided to continue after the great Finesse and speed left him.
Ray would pummel Maywether JR. just like he did his old man in 1978.Weak chins run in the family, just ask Roger and Jeff Mayweather. And once Ray nailed him the fight would be OVER!
LOL at you guys trying to discredit Leonard for Duran's shameful quit job. He was getting outclassed and toyed with, he QUIT! Leonard was winning the fight, and started toying with him, and Duran quit out of embarassment. Duran was a great fighter, but don't make excuses for him.
No one is discrediting Leonard or justifying Duran for quitting. However, everyone needs to watch the entire fight. SRL was winning but by a narrow margin. Maybe a pt or 2 w/7rounds left. I don't think either man behaved like a champ that nite. Duran quit and Leonard clowned. They should have had the 3rd fight in 80 to settle the score.
are you serious? Hes incredible, had a very long career, won titles at multiple levels, and has the greatest handspeed for a middleweight of all time.
Awesome music. Has a great heroic-type sound to it. As someone else said, a lot more classy than the usual heavy metal BS you might here. It makes the highlight, honestly.
you must be a moron, leonard hardly damaged duran at all, according to duran he eat a hot stake and had a cold glass of water before the fight and was having stomach cramps, leonard was the coward in that fight they say duran was but did anyone see leonard moving towards duran at all?didn't think so "omg he danced" wow so he was going for a points decisionhe knew he could never stand toe to toe with duran anyways. Also duran wasn't fighting leonard at his natural weight
Relax, Roberto Duran jr. Your papa was a great fighter. One of the greatest to ever step in a ring. But Leonard outclassed him that night. It's ok; it happens. Tell papa I said hello.
I think DB6989 is referring to the 3rd fight. We all know they fought twice in 1980. Its a fact that Duran had to lose 30 to 40lbs in two months to make weight and fight Leonard in New Orleans. Look there's no excuse, Duran was not prepared but don't make it look like Leonard was too much. SRL deserved to win because his game plan and preparation was better. The 1st time around was a great fight on both parts and the better fighter won.
Well I think the better fighter won the second time around as well. And maintaining your health is a part of being great. You wanna give athletes a pass for gaining weight? Ray out trained him, out fought him, out classed him.
Both are on my top 10 fighters list. Both were legends. And both were the better fighters the night they won.
I agree with most of what you said, but there was nothing classy about the way Leonard was clowning around. He didn't outbox Duran. He psyched him out. Duran's lack of preparation and quitting were inexcusable.
the first fight leonard chose to stand and trade with duran and he almost pulled it off, i have seen the fight many times and leonard won the the last 3 rounds to make it a split decision! the 2nd fight was different story and was duran's to fight leonard at his own game! boxing is boxing and leonard outboxed him full stop! duran could not handle it so he quit!
Duran won a unanimous decision not a split. Duran coasted at the end because he was so far ahead. If you think Leonard outboxed Duran in the second fight your entitled to your opinion. Then he outboxed him by 1 or 2 pts with 7 rounds to go. Somewhere on the net I've saw the judges score cards they were all like 67-65 or 66-65 with Duran ahead in the 8th.
you read wrong on the internet! leonard was ahead by 2 rounds on all 3 judges in the 2nd fight! duran did not take it easy that is not durans style! give credit where credit is due! they were both great fighters! and it was a perfect matchup of boxer versus fighter! we will never see there likes again! both for me top 5 of all time
2 rounds is 2 pts, genius! Don't u know that! You're mixing up fights as well. I said Duran coasted at the end of the 1st fight because he was WAY AHEAD. If you really do your research you'll find out that SRL offered Duran $8MLN for the rematch to be held ASAP because he knew Duran would not have enough time to train properly. Look SRL was great, but he is not a top 5 of all time maybe top 10. Duran beat Leonard past his prime and past his natural 135lbs weight.
i know more im my little finger than you will ever know! he chose to fight duran at his own game the 1st fight and it was close had leonard decided to box duran would have lost the 1st fight! ok it was only leonard's ego that made him go toe to toe with duran the 1st time! leonard was a masterful boxer and you see what happened in the rematch 5 months later!
and how you can say duran was past his prime in november 1980 you have not got a clue! he only lost won fight at lightweight against esteban dejesus! tha doe's not sound like a fighter past his prime! who was the referees during both fights you moron! i bet yo will have to look in your boxing book!
you idiot they both have the same amount of time to train! it was not leonards fault that duran was partying to much! they are called pro's for a reason!
aftre the 2 nd fight duran went off the rails for a few years! if they had fought in 1981 your man would have been beaten easier than the 2 fight! you get in the ring and fight somebody that there own game and then i think you will understand! you box 2 your ownw strenghs and you try to win!
u have been in the ring so u know duran is better than leonard??? I have been in there too and I KNOW leonard is better than duran and even people who haven't r entitled to an opinion
You're right, KNOW is not the right word. My opinion is Duran was better. My opinion was reinforced in the first fight. You're right everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've got no problems with people who think Leonard is better. However, I find that most Duran detractors do not acknowledge that Duran was past his prime when he beat a prime Leonard. Not to mention above Duran's natural weight.
hey duran is def an alltime p4p great ...i know I will catch shit like usual but floyd mayweather jr at his best could beta either of them simploy by neutralizing there speed with impeccable defense....duran beat sugar...he fought the fight of his life but sugar ray like great fighters made adjustments and i wouldn't say he was much bigger a man than duran...and past his prime to some woulod mean more experienced
We agree that everyone's entitled to their opinion, but the guy I saw fight DeLaHoya would have been destroyed by SRL or Duran. You mention defense, Duran was a master at slipping and rolling with punches. Look at Duran's face in the 70s and early 80s, he's unmarked straight nose, its remarkable. Leonard could match Floyd speed and BOTH SRL and Duran could hit MUCH HARDER than Mayweather.
if u put the two together tghen they would win...floyd rolls punches and counters better trhgan anyone...he can beat either guy...we'll never know but my imo he wins a boring fight and everyone says sugar or roberto sucks anyway because thats what he does to fighters...
If you say so. In my opinioon, Leonard knocks him in out and Duran beats his body to pulp before knocking him out cold. But we will never know. If Floyd's the best we have today then boxing is done.
boxing is done??? he is 38-0 24ko's he beat corrales BAD g. hernanez when he was 17 fights into his career ko'd manfredy...shutout baldomir...dominated judah...then beat a Much bigger HOF fighter in delahoya....how is he so bad,...i just don't get it
I'm not saying he his bad. He's good, very fast, but can't punch. The DeLaHoya fight was SO BORING. Not just Floyds fault...DelaHoya too. BORING fight. Have you seen Duran Leonard I or Arguello Pryor I.
That was boxing, fighting, brawling. Their on Youtube watch them.
LMAO! You think Mayweather could've beat Leonard? Leonard was bigger, much more powerful, quicker, defense was about as good, and he threw way more punches. Mayweather might have good defense, but he's not gonna win a fight by being defensive. Leonard would outwork him, plain and simple, and win an easy decision. Duran would dominate him as well in his prime.
anyway they are both great to me! it is just i prefer the talent of leonard!he had a god given talent and his prime was taken away from him at the age of 26years and he was retired for 3 years! but i like this discussion! that is why i love boxing! respect
Duran's prime was as a lightweight between 72-78. By 1980 he was already on the decline but still great. Any IDIOT knows this. Don't just read what I write try comprehension. By the way, DeJesus was a GREAT boxer. He had the misfortune of coming around during Duran's reiogn of terror. The fights are on Youttube check them out.
duran would have lost if he had boxed leonard as a lightweight! to small against a welter weight! duran was 29 when he fought leonard in 1980 and not past his prime! in those 8 years he grew in to a welterweight and the 1st fight was probably his greatest performance! obviously you are a duran man and i am leonard man! if leonard had chose to box the 1st fight he would have won! that would have made it 3 for leonard and 0 for duran! instead it ended up 2-1 for leonard in the history books!
The first fight was a classic and Leonard fought great he was just in against a superior fighter/boxer. The 2nd fight SRL deserved. They should have fought the 3rd in 81. That would have settled the score while both were at or close to their prime. SRL didn't want to risk his future paydays with Hearns and Hagler so he made a smart business decision and declined to give Duran a 3rd fight until '89 when Duran was 38yrs old.
Well I feel his actions were no different than Ali on many a night. That's not clowning around if you're beating your opponent in the process; which Leonard was.
You can watch and see when Duran quit, Leonard was not clowning; but rather landing shot after shot, while Duran could not land cleanly.
Two great boxers had two great fights. Both made mistakes in their loss, and performed incredibly in victory. That's the way I see it. Congrats to them both.
In my opinion, I don't think this song jells well with the video. It is a song from Silent Hill 2, a ps2 game. I'm actually quite surprised that an mma fan, would make a highlight video with videogame music.
great video. but if darren honestly things that hatton (huge fan) and calzaghe are dominant or WILL BE dominant, then u got another thing coming! both great fighters though
Sugar Ray is a little better than Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the mythical pound for pound echelon of all-time great boxers; however, Floyd can change that in the next couple of years if he fights the right people for the remainder of his career.

amazing hand speed. Leonard always said that he idolized Bruce Lee, and tried to model his fight style after him. It shows.

man I miss ray. Hagler fight forever eched in my childhood. I believe that is why I love combat sports so much today.
Like the choice of music better then your ussal metal bs. Lacked some great clips but over all was very well done. Cheers.

Sugar Ray is a little better than Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the mythical pound for pound echelon of all-time great boxers; however, Floyd can change that in the next couple of years if he fights the right people for the remainder of his career.
