my favorite folding knife has to be the ontario RAT-1. i bought one and imediately bought another one. i do like the ergonomics and for me, it seems that the weight is a mark of reliability. how do you feel about the RAT-1 in the field(hunting) does it perform just as well as one might expect.
By the way. great videos. i would however like too see more macros as you have shown here.
@SpartanJohns Thanks for your comment. As you say RAT-1 folder is a relatively heavy knife for its size. And also as you say it is very toughly constructed with pillars which is very good to wash inside out after hunting. In honest many knives other than RAT-1 is just my hobby. RAT-1 is very practical in the field and affordable. The other knives might be useless for regular hunters who are not much interested in knives. You are just right.
Very nice, I think they new Longhorn is going to outperform the Bladetech, however like you said we will have to wait until hunting season to find out
Another great video! While I am not a hunter your videos showing your knives while in use appeal to me. I would like to see you make a video detailing your process for dressing deer and perhaps you could talk about what parts of the animal you use and for what purpose. Thank you very much!
@Tanrichguy Thanks for your comment. I have ulloaded a deer dressing video titled "Highland Special, Fox River, cKc Hunter in the field". When you have time, please watch this video. And I will make new field videos in this coming season from November.
@Shanester66 Thanks for your comment. I carry folding knives as backup knives. However they have very good performance same as fixed blades, so I usually use both fixed blades and folders on a single deer in joy. Using good knives is joy. The deer hunting begin with a gun and end with knives.
@oneinter Thanks for your comment. You must be curious about my answer to your question. However it is true under the Japanese severe gun control law. I use Winchester 70 bolt action gun with .410 caliber smooth bore barrel. The ammo is similar to 440 Marlin I guess. The killing range is 150 yards.

Please try the Doug Ritter version of the Benchmade Griptillian. I like it for my hunting of Canadanian Deer.

@MrZotZot I dig it and it is great as you say. Thank you.

I have one and I was disappointed with it.
It doesn't open every time. It's not a clean opening knife...
Plus the blade is marked from new.
It's the finish that spoils it.

Thanks for vid...do you prefer to use a folding knife for skinning or fixed blade?

Nice edition to your knife collection. What gun do you use for deer hunting?
