Every church is different, but you have to look at the goal: leading your people in worship they can easily follow. There are clever ways to put slick stuff into worship songs, otherwise its good to make sure to do special items at church outside of worship so people can see giving the talent to God without the distraction. A lot of people don't realize this but Lincoln Brewster was hired to tour with Journey for lead guitar. He can rip it, knows talent and can hang with the best of them.
