Perfect perfect tempo. I listen to this and feel like you have control over every single note. That's hard. I liked the 2nd finger on the C sharp in bars 17 - 18. Makes so much more sense than 1st finger. Overall really great pace.
Exacly, perfect tempo. For some reason most pianists want to play this way too fast. The arpeggios sound like mush at that speed whereas at this tempo every note is articulated clearly.
The best version EVER! I LOVE your Beethoven Piano Works CD with all the Mvts! In fact, I have ALL of your CDs and I LOVE them ALL. They contain the best classical piano playing I have EVER heard! You are truly amazing!!!!!
Thanks for playing with expression! geez some of these players are so worried about playing perfectly they forget that people actually want to hear passion.
fur elise was the first song i learned on piano XD i hope you do well omg i want to play this so badly too but im at a low level right now =.= im working on egyptian ballet dance by camille saint saens and minuet by ignace paderewski ^_^
I agree on the slower tempo... To me, every note has a personality to it and a friend to connect with. There are so many specific notes that can just be savored played slower... Playing it fast is one thing but NOT ALL PEOPLE are musically ear trained to connect those notes. I guess people have a thing with instruments played with hyper speed, HAHA, No Just kidding. I respect people out there that know thier time really well and can actually point out that the original was a faster pace. :)
This is the best interpretation I’ve heard, thus far. If you are so inclined, may I suggest a future attempt be made with a greater level of anger? For example: “The artist’s lover is in the audience. As the sonata progresses, he notices his lover’s husband possessively take her hand in his. Shockwaves of anger, frustration and thoughts of revenge course through the artist’s soul. He knows there is nothing he can do to assuage his passion, for his lover’s position is unmovable.”
@sackwhacker well.... it does only have 2 dislikes compared to the hundreds of likes... so the "rating" is great so far. however the "views" are rather lacking i think because he only posted this about 3 weeks ago. give it time xD
this is amazing.. i rather like it a bit slower. very articulate and lovely to hear EVERY note so clearly <3
oops, I haven't explained what I meant by that. When saying underrated, I was saying that the views are lacking and certainly many aren't seeing that Mr Erez is up there among the best. :D
Me being just a beginner "pianist", I have to say this looks incredibly hard to do, so my hat off to you. It seems like you've been playing a really long time, and I want to be just as good. Keep it up! (:
I usually have heard this Awesome piece in a furious, rocketing tempo...but I think this is greatly satisfying the musical aspect of it, I really like it
This is absolutely Amazing! I love watching his fingers zoom up and down the piano. And the Bosendorfer sounds GREAT! Listen to the high quality audio and videography of this piece. Mr. Erez is phenomenal! And I love the tempo too because you can appreciate every single note, played impeccably! I also love the crescendos in the left hand. Something most leave out.
This is one of the reasons why he is my favorite pianist. Amazing video. Thank you for sharing it with us, Sir.
This is a very good tempo and amazing performance/ interpetation! I also really enjoy these camera views, they are very artistic and helpful for other pianists such as me! I really appreciate your work! Also, I wanted to ask, are those ivory keys on your piano?
@101elton101 Yes & Yes. Although no marked, I like using the soft pedal on the runs, and explode the chords. The sustain pedal is used throughout (carefully) on and off.
@bfeyalcin " Look people, the fact of the matter is virtuosos are like magicians, they create the illusion of making something difficult to do very easy, in this case the illusion is that the hands look slower than the notes themselves. "
Excelente interpretación. Da gusto conocer las calidades profesionales de quien seguramente ama la musica como a su propia vida. Felicitaciones. Estaré ansioso de conocer nuevas melodías.
All I can think about is how his hands look like spiders moving around like that. Musically-genius spiders that is.
