Someone should post "Non È Amor, Né Gelosia" from Alcina, 1962, the Berganza/Sutherland duet. Berganza was young but a total wonder, easily holding her own with La Stupenda. One of my favorite moments in all recorded opera.
here she was 58 years old, I do not like her singing ........ for me she is not a real mezzosoprano voice ....when La Scala Theater offer to sing Violetta Traviata was in the right
@willthebest1 ..... I say my opinion like everybody, for me SHE IS NOT A REAL MEZZOSOPRANO VOICE, is easy to sing in lower tonality.....she is great and famous and you are a little person without education and arguments
@ienzo2331 u r exactly wat i suspected...talk about no education you do not know me..which tells me how much education you have....and if she's not real then what does that make you? let me guess a mezzo soprano....) hah....enough said...moving along! hey better yet find you some real potatoes and mash!!!!
I love Berganza. She has the amazingly easy coloratura notes. She is wonderful. But this dress that she wore in 1993 is horrible. It looks like she put her family's coat of arms in front of it and that green stuff makes the dress looks really awful. Thank God, she is a wonderful singer and she is so expressive! Thank you for posting this link, anyway. :-)
IMMENSE ARTIST, AND A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING. Thank you for this wonderful video. She looks beautiful and the voice is still so expressive though it sometimes sounds a little on the flat and "fissa", but this is not criticism, it's very moving to see her sing, always. She is one of my 5 favourite ever singers.
@clashguy This aria is for a male role (a soldier), that's why Berganza is dressed with a masculine motif. Glad that you have watched and listened, too.
Teresa ... what can one say ... she is exceptional! She is my first operatic love, ever since I discovered a recording of her rendition of "Una voce poco fa" so many years ago.
GENIAL!!! aun esta un poco mejor en la grabacion de la inauguracion del Teatro de la Maestranza en Sevilla en 1991. si alguien la tiene podia ponerla...

The dress has got to go. It looks like half a dozen aerodrome shelters sewn together.

Only Montserrat Caballé, Marilyn Horne and Elina Garanca can sing so superbly "Tanti Palpiti" of Rossini's Tancredi.
