hey guys , i jus bought the x50 blue light , i don no how to use it lol, ok so waht is x and wat is k ? can some one show me how to use those ? thanks
X is an old radar band not used in most places. Check to see if it's used in your area, if not, turn it off (follow instruction manual, hold down the city and dim buttons on top of the detector until it enters setup, toggle to Bandsmod and turn off X using the mute button). K band is another form of radar, it is still widely used by police but many electric door sensors (petrol stations, shopping centres etc)emit the same band and make the detector alert (or 'false')
the one i have is just a home made one i got 2 horizontal mounts and a peice of ally about 3 mm thick and about 100 mm lengh 10 mm wide i bent the ally to make a 90 degree rivited one normall mount to one end and the other to the other end you mwill have to bend and shape normall mounts to suit
I bought mine from Delonix Radar (google it). Very fast shipping to anywhere, online payment and it's professionally made (covered in plastic so it looks like a factory escort/bel bracket)
No worries mate. It definitely works very well for all Beltronics / Escort detectors but should work for any detector with a vertically polarised antenna (pretty much all of them)
i was pretty amazed my self when i tested it i gained an extra 3 to 400 metres in detection in some cases i recorded it on my phone just to show other users but not succsesfull only that my phone can only rec 35 seconds of movie which is not long enough
Definitely a good sign if you can't fit the video into 35 seconds! I've had many 7-800m alerts on open roads with the vertical bracket - never happenened when mounting horizontally.
i got told that there are 3 power settings on a multinova but now the operaters are getting sneaky they normally set it low thats how detecters have good range on some and not to good on others but having it vertical is a god send
Hey mate the reason you get better range against Ka with the vertical bracket is because the multanova radar signal is horizontally polarised but the detector antenna is positioned vertically within the detector... rotating the detector 90 degrees aligns the detector antenna with the multanova radar signal's polarisation and hence, you get increased sensitivity. Only works with some types of radar (multanova is one of them).
thanks for the vid mate - would this work with a beltronics STi - or any other radar detector?

It's a crazy difference isn't it? I wasn't convinced until I tried it for myself either.

i see that it works in a straight line better but what about on a curve? same result?

Why does vertical do better?
I though Horizontal would do better because wider range...I was wrong lol.
