they get bored of things easily and thus people say they have a short attention span, but their actual memory is really good

WOW! I dont understand how you can train a goldfish! They have an attention span of 7 seconds so you'd have to work fast!

All my goldfishes did the same trick that no one taught them: see something in the water, swim for it, gulp it down then spit it out because it's dodo, then swim off and back around again, see something in the water, swim for it, gulp it down then spit it out...4 or 5 times until the dodo finally hit the bottom of the tank.
They are motivated by food alright.

Dude! All fish do that! Lol... Swimming up to get food... and sometimes spitting it out and swimming is an instinct not a trick lol!
