  • The reservoir was built on a large swath of land that included what had been fields, farms, and even some graveyards, both formal and informal. People had lived on that land for well more than a century before the Army Corps of Engineers came in and built the reservoir.

    I lived in the area and had grown up there. Although the corrupt powers that run Delaware County made sure no real dissent was heard, many old-time residents were bitter, upset, or just plain sad when that mess was put in.

  • Some lost farms that had been in the family for generations and some lost a lot of money. Some of the land was sold for a lot more than the farmers were paid when they were forced out.

  • I saw this on the news last night. it is kind of creepy. I wonder why there where no more remains in the caskets?
