dont put thumbs down on this, but this is not phil collins song, i know the person who arranged this song and phil collins heard and produced his own version of it without permission
this was shortly after the berlin-wall came down. i remember it was the very first concert i saw on tv because i was born in the gdr. it was just a magic moment. thank you phil!
True. You can listen to songs of Trick of the Tail from 1976, and he doesn't sound any different to what he did a couple of years ago on Genesis' tour.
I heard Phil Collins when I was younger, on the radio, or even saw him on MTV, but it was not until I read American Psycho (where the main character has a thing for Genesis) that I started to really listen to the songs. Backside is that now, when ever I listen to Genesis and Phil Collins, I remember that book. :P
Best version hands down of this song. Too bad he gets too into having a big band flavor with the horns in the later versions because the guitar in this one just sounds awesome.
According to rumor, this song was addressed to Phil's long-lost twin brother Billy, who was on the run from the law. Phil couldn't afford to compromise his brother by contacting him directly, so he released this song in advance of an American tour as a way of reaching out to him and offering his assistance.
cuando se presento en berlin mi cancion freferida es dos carazones y solo una noche mas huuuuu ooooo.. javier cruz martos 201004 mi amor marta y estefania y mi sobrina maryori los quiero mucho el cortijo
Wow! I actually like this live version of the song better than the one from 'Serious Hits Live'! I uploaded that one, but I think I'll be listening to this one a lot more, lol
If there's one other element when Phil Collins is performing live, is the excellent percussions. I noticed that all Phil Collins' concerts or live events have very good drummers or percussionists. I guess that gives tribute to Collins' himself being a great drummer.
His name is Daryl Stuermer or something like that. My spelling might play triks on me, and he played in Genesis with Phil Collins. For my knoledge, Genesis never stoped to exist. They had a world tour a few years ago, and they perform ocasionaly, when they have time of course :D Please correct me if I'm wrong I don't mind, actually I'll be glad

You are right. But unfortunately, I don't have the time to be an active listener. And like me, there are many many people. SO, because of that, we listen what the Records Companies want us to hear.
You have time to poke around on YouTube, therefore you have time to be an active listener. I think its necessary to be an interested listener to become an active listener. Some folks are lazy, or are just easily satisfied to be spoon-fed all their lives, because that way they don't have to expend the thought energy required to be an individual. Many times it's easier for them to go along with a crowd. Moo.
This is the way this song should sound. It has that nice rock flavor and some sweet guitar riffs. Best of all, Phil backed off on the big band instruments with this song in this performance.
I liked the DW Drums that Chesters used before he switched to the Sonor ones. The DW's had a more open true natural tone not that tinny ring the Sonors had. Trust me I know it has to do with miking, drum triggers, programming, drum heads, tuning, graphic equalizers, ect. Even better would be Ludwig like Chester start his carreer on. Rusty Leigh agrees as well..My endorser
This is how this song is meant to sound. On the original album recording, it's too stiff and synth-y; when Phil plays it nowadays he loads on tons of crappy horns. This is the song at its absolute best: non-reverbed drums and electric guitar doing the little fills in the chorus. It gives the song so much more energy. Having horns do that part is terrible.
