@Attakijing It's not meant to be - I think such a thing is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. It's our tribute of respect to the great speech, showing how MLK was a great composer.
@topologyrob well what are some other examples of setting speech to music in culture. all i can think of is auto-tune the news, which is far from aggrandizing the news. the only other example i can think of is this kind of "tribute" video: /watch?v=UFeZLJLgq-8
@Attakijing Steve Reich is one example - there are many others (Hermeto Pascoal, René Lussier, Sherre Delys, Jason Moran) who don't tune up the speech, but fit in with the speech as they find it (like me). It's respectful to my ears.
@KingsleyEnnis1 I have a dream you will get it by a train. I have a dream that one day, your life will end and you will go to hell. I have a dream that ONE DAY you will chase after a bus, it will turn around and smash you to pieces! I HAVE A DREAM THAT you will get killed by your parents. I have a dream that you will come to my house so I can kill you. I have a dream that you will go to hell and you will die alone. I have a dream that you will be reborn black I'm not black though.
Does ANYONE know where i can obtain archive footage of histories signature black icons online? if you do can you msg me, your help is much appreciated.
in SPANISH language, we have a special word we use to describing people that tells "SHIT LIKE YOU" like this..... we call them CHUPEME LAS BOLAS PENDEJO!
no one has the right to blame this humankind hero!
@RoastedMarshmellow5 This isnt rude. This is what it takes for young people to listen. Listen to ( Martin Luther King, Jr. Sings in Memphis ) and i think you wil understand what i mean

LOL Truth sucks doesn't it? Boston University found MLK guilty of plagiarism and close associate/friend of MLK even said he was a womanizer. So why does MLK get away with plagiarism while someone else with a PhD would get their degree instantly revoked for a fraction of the amount of plagiarism that MLK was found guilty of? That is RACIST.
There many of these mixture videos, but the one you have created is the best and I really mean that. Is there any way that you could make it one or two minuts longer? I will be showing this at school in a few days in front of 170 students, its just a bit to short. I have no idea if this kind of editing is hard but I hope that you will do it for me. The choice is yours.
this is making fun of the man who made WORLD PEACE i think this should be taken more seriously

@rockyzippers It's certainly not intended to make fun of Dr King - quite the opposite in fact

It's not intended to be parody or satire. I kinda hoped the music supported his sentiment here - I certainly agree with MLK.

The plagiarism claims against King Jr. could be true. However him being a womanizer is only hear say.

Krypton655 4 years ago 2
Yeah, I'd like to make a longer stand-alone version. This is an excerpt from a 74-minute piece using many great speeches of the 20th century.
