I saw repin destroy the tchaik in new york and let me tell you, it doesnt matter where you are sitting, this guy has an amazing stage presence and control of the violin, its incredible

Just love Vadim Repin playing this Wieniawski Polonaise Brillante No 1 in D Major!!!!!!! Straight and to the point without excessive expression and nuance. Classy!!!

He looks like an athlete more than a violinist. Look up Jonathan Papelbon, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. They could be brothers.

Who cares if Heifetz plays it better... Heifetz played a ton of things better than other violinists. Repin plays it very well and it was fun to listen to and watch. Although there are some similarities to Heifetz' recording, there are also a number of dissimilarities that are easily apparent to anyone not half-deaf.
