  • Baron Otto Matic and Clutcher created YouTube accounts and disliked this.

  • Love the end of the theme with the guitars.

  • Methinks the name of that car was a metaphor for something else.

  • Tom Slick in the Thunderbolt Grease-slapper and Peter Perfect in the #9 Turbo Terrific (from the 'toon Wacky Races) should challenge Speed Racer and Racer X in the World Auto Racing Championship.

  • Kudos. The "Thunderbolt Grease-slapper" rides again!

  • Thanks for posting this...TOM SLICK!!!

  • i remeber this it was on my old george of the jungle animated show vhs this and super chicken FCKIN LOVE THESE GUYS

  • One dislike? Who disliked this video?

  • @Mezniff Probably somebody who raced against Tom and lost.

  • @Page1261 You mean Baron Otto Matic.

  • Tom Slick looks like Ron Howard.

  • LOL, This never gets old.

  • This was one of many cartoons along with the 3 stooges that was on Slam Bang Theater every morning before i went to school.Great memories.

  • cartoons when they were really funny and clever.

  • Very nice! Thanks for tinkering - helped a lot.

  • Tom's arch enemy Baron Otto Matic and his henchmen Clutcher...TOO Much!!

  • If there wasa movie for this I'd elect Conan O brien as Tom Slick (and of course a stunt double)

  • The Thunderbolt Grease-slapper. Is that a cool-as-hell name for a car or what!?

  • Freaking fantastic... And we 50 and overs turned out alright.. Didn't we?

  • Man, I don't know why it took me so long to look this up here! I LOVED this show when I was a kid. My dad loves stock vintage cars, but my brother and I drag race a '67 Chevelle. Coincidence? I think not.

In the late 80s I raced a Nova at Bunker Hill Dragway in Indiana, and there was a T-bucket there that was called "The Thunderbolt Grease-Slapper."

  • Wow-Sunday mornings..

  • Ironically,he crashes into Mr. Magoo coming the other way.....

  • Now these were cartoons, not like the crap they have today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank You!....My wife wanted me to tell my favorite childhood cartoon. Ahh The Proof that it existed.

  • I'm 53 years old now and loved cartoons like this back in the 60's. Good wholesome fun. Ya had to be a pretty sharp kid to catch some of the dead pan humor. It's still funny today. And the Super Chicken theme at the beginning... is actually the birth of modern Rap.

  • riding spinnas!

  • @inc2000glw They spinnin', nigga, they spinnin'!! They spinnin', nigga, they spinnin'!!!

  • Tom Slick and Marigold sure sounded like Dudley Do-Right and nel.(Chuckle!)

I understand producer Jay Ward belived in the same sort of voices whenever possible,so he probably told Bill Scott and June Foray to use the same voices.

  • tom slick is the 60's version of jimmie johnson.

  • Comment removed

  • Super chicken And tomSlick!!!!' Overwhelmingly Happy .....think this

May have generated some NEW brain cells !

  • my favorite episode was the one where Tom went to nevada to see some indians who tried to grow apples in the desert, but couldn't, and built a racetrack instead. they called the race the "apple-less indian 500." how do you come up with jokes that bad?

  • Tom Slick.

    Tom Slick.

    Let me tell you why,

He's the best of all the guys.

    Tom Slick

    Tom Slick

In the thunder boat grease slapper once he's on your tail.

He won't quit because you know there's no such word as fail to

    Tom Slick

    Tom Slick!

  • @BeggarCats it's actually "thunderbolt" grease slapper.

  • @Mr1969coronet500 you're totally right correctly !!!!!

  • Bring on Super CHicken!!!!

  • best pun-the Indians who were promised orchards on their reservation, but were sent to the desert-the Appleless Indian 500.

  • Heh; the American Speed Racer.

  • If who ever wrote and performed the songs for this and Super Chicken did not get an award of some kind, they should now.

    This musical genius.

  • Back in the day ! I had a 1969 convertible Camaro, powered by a 327, Hurst shifter hooked to a Muncie 4 speed turning a set of cragars wrapped with 60s on the front and 50s on the back. a friend of mine started calling me Tom Slick, ive been useing that name ever since.

    cheers

  • OH! So it's Thunder-BOLT greaseslapper. Oh ok.

  • I remember the rubber baby buggy bumper and catfish whiskers episodes. If I remember correctly, The Thunderbolt Greaseslapper was actually shown only once in a monster Rally race episode. In the other episodes, Tom Slick converted the car to whatever race he entered. Nerd Alert!!! YIKES!!!

  • any one remember the the rubber baby buggy bumbers episode or the reconstituted catfish whiskers lol.

  • jajajja the car running after those farm animals!!

  • wow tried to look up lyrics for this and they have it as thunder boat grease slapper, I think it is thunderbolt three slapper, as in the day when racing, you slapped shifter 3 times

  • It's The Thunderbolt Greaseslapper

  • @ptcpaul it is three slapper...you're right...

  • Thunderbolt Grease Slapper!

I had a few cars that qualified for that name.

  • haven't seen this for years!! the little wave he makes near the end-cool cartoon! Thanks

  • my computer teacher played this before class one day. mainly because he used to call one of my class mates Tom slick

  • Good job.
