Ageism sucks

Both the elderly and children are easily being abused because of their vulnerability. Another way to fight this cruelty is to equip the vulnerable members of our society with the ability to secure their safety as well. With today’s technology, they can have the ability to call for help immediately when something bad is being done to them. This way, the worse scenario can be prevented.

When I hear the word Ageism I immediately think of abused children, pre-teens stuck in the mind destroying slavery of middle school, and teenagers threatened at the barrel of a gun to proceed to graduation. Not to mention old people basically dismissing everything younger people have to say on the basis of "they're just young and stupid."

What the word elder means is wiser, another words respect those who are wiser than you, which doesn't necessarily mean they're older than you.

@Joanthecutey Yes, stuff like that happens all the time. In the past the Bible has been used to justify slavery, wife beating, and genocide. Nowdays its used to justify child abuse among other corrupt things. As I said before though, the problem isn't the Bible, the problem is people who abuse the Bible.

Are you talking about the fact that children display sexual behavior before they become adults? Yes, they do but it should be explained to them b/c they don't understand it and they should also be told about appropriate types of sexual contact for certain age groups.

Ageism can't be fought, though I really had hoped for it. I could give about 100 reasons why ageism exists and is accepted in modern day society, and when something is blindly accepted, it's hard to change.

You can change their ways that are openly epressed for people to see, but can you change them on the inside? I don't think you'll be able to, but if it's possible, I'll help.

@Shadowmov3r Racism has been fought and to a great extent, defeated. There still are people in this world with racist attitudes but at least people of any race can vote, hold down good jobs, use public services, ect. Laws prohibiting such stuff has been done away with. If racism can be beaten so can ageism.
