@Tigermoon1950 BS I have one and after 800 roiunds of CCI ammo. The ammo SIG says to usxe I have had ONE failure to feed. Clean it oil it and use the ammo they say and all it does is shoot. Just like the other three SIG handguns I own.
@mountaintramp1 I don't really, but all of the reviews I seen and read said that it jammed a lot, so I found areas that I thought might be problem areas and filed and polished them. I probably should have tried it before and after.
@jpop8807 Yes! I forgot about that until you said it. It did seem like the gun would get dirty and the empty case would get stuck in the chamber and the extractor would pop off the rim trying to pull it out. I think over time that will correct itself, but I used a dremel tool and polished the inside of the chamber to speed up the break-in process. That helped a lot. Now, after thousands of rounds, it almost never has any problems.
I bought mine last year, it had one I repeat one failure to feed, I just got done firing a 100 rd pack of Winchester HV HP, The pack was so old it had a price sticker of $2.00 on the box. I've used other HV ammo in mine and never had a problem, I've yet to use CCI 's in them. Good gun.

@762infidel How would spraying a flammable water displacement / rust inhibitor help you do anything except maybe blow your hand off? I understand the concept of maybe lubricating your magazines as well as keeping the gun oiled up but I definitely wouldn't use WD-40 on any gun. Not only is that stupid, it will ruin your gun.
@nwpentax I am at 65k rds and its going fine doing this method. For training purposes it has already paid for itself and if it did get destroyed I would just get another. If your going to come on here claiming wd-40 on a firearm is going to blow them up please, please just get the fuck out of here. Airsoft maybe, the real thing? No. I am sorry it doesnt say hoppes or remoil on the can instead...simple fast is that wd40 works great if used the right way.........HOLY FUCKIN SUPRISE!
@jferret75 I don't doubt for a second that you ARE using this method with WD-40. I just do not believe it is the right product to use for the intended purpose. Actually, I own a Mosquito and if you use the correct recoil spring for the type of ammo you are shooting and keep your gun/magazine clean and lubricated, you shouldn't have to do anything else to feed/fire/extract hundreds of rounds in each shooting session with at least 95+% reliability with any ammo you choose.
WD 40 was designed as a water displacer and it does work fairly well as a penetrating solution on rusted or siezed bolts etc. It is NOT a firearm lubricant, and in fact has no lubrication qualities at all once it dries. In fact, when exposed to heat (like on a firearm) it turns gummy. Once dry, it does not protect or lubricate whatsoever. When WD-40 gums up it will harden up after a period of time. Heat and dirt speed up this process. This can cause many problems with firearms.
@jferret75 WD-40 has some unique uses, like removing tar from a cars paint, getting moisture out of a dristributor cap etc, but has NO PLACE on a firearm. Yes, there will always be people who insist it works just fine, but then again, they are the same people that believe duct tape and bailing wire are the answers to all the world's problems. By the way, never owned any airsoft guns or video games. They weren't around when I was growing up. Just trying to clarify misinformation.

Do you know where I may purchase a replacement barrel for my Mosquito? Or perhaps I can find one who is experienced & would perform my barrel polishing? THX JAMES.
@WorldsBestGuys I love it. Check out my other videos on this gun where I rapid fire 100 rounds and have only 1 jam. It's also accurate considering the stiff trigger and crappy sights. For $300 I think it's not bad at all.
@WorldsBestGuys had and shot Walther 22's, Sig 22's, S&W 22's, etc....hard pressed to find on that does not jam. 22 ammo is cheap, crap, low recoil, the list goes on :)
@WorldsBestGuys ...sorry to hear that... Mine works fine no issue...I use CCI mini mags from Walmart and its so cheap I I am not complaining at all. Best of all CCI mini mags works but folks want to be cheaper and buy cheap 22lr and say that the mosquito shouldnt be CCI mini mag specific only. Oh well it was built for the CCI mini mag and it works for me. I can get another gun and then buy cheaper ammo for the more expensive 22lr hideous lookin pistols out there but what for? This looks cool
@WorldsBestGuys Your insane, ive NEVER had a problem with mine. Eats anything i feed it and its just as accurate as my mk3 & buckmark. Only thing i did is polish the trigger bar, sear and sear notch on the hammer, trigger now has zero creep and crisp let off. stop trolling.

@WorldsBestGuys crap? are you sure you bought a sig and not a walther p22? regardless of whether its clean or not the gun is much more reliable and accurate than many other higher priced models on the market
@starshock01 yeah I've been hearing very good things about the Sig Mosquito. I like the Desert Camo Digital--that thing rox! I may buy one. You must understand that cheap .22lr is not usually as reliable in the .22lr auto-pistols. Try CCI Mini-Mags. And break the gun in. I would imagine that over-polishing that feed ramp is not a good idea
can u clean the feed ramp and the barrel on a p90 with WD40? after u sand down the ramp? - wen i manualy pull slide back, 3rd or 4th bullet jams :( - sum1 help me
@kanoo112 I'm not familiar with the P90 but if it has a feed ramp then you can polist it and it will help it stop jamming. Most people will just shoot the gun a lot of break it in, which basically does the same thing in that the hundreds of bullets rubbing against the metal surfaces of the gun in normal use will polish or slick up those contact areas.
when i first bought my sig the first 30 rounds were fine but now i cant get the gun to shoot. im going to try cci mini mags next time .and give a good cleaning and polishing the feed ramp. i love the gun just wish it would shoot.
Hello. I like to shoot quite a bit at each range session & this really makes my thumbs & hands sore afterwards. So, do you or any of your listeners/readers know of a Magazine loader for the Sig Mosquito. I would greatly appreciate this info. Thanks. Sincerely,d JAMES.
i just bought one and it fires pritty well with the mini mags. But almost every single time the last round will jam kinda like in the mag , the slide will come forward and jam. Also i cannot load a full may of 10 only 7 and under if i load a full 10 every single time when you hit the slide release the slide will jame and not load the first round any clues?
You can try to use a small screw driver and lightly pry the bullet out in the area where the extractor would pull the empty case out. Since the 7.62 bullet is a center fire bullet, the rim of the case is not as dangerous to pry on as a rimfire .22 case is. Just don't hit the primer with any of the tools you use if the round is still live. Or you can try firing the bullet then use a cleaning rod to push the empty case out of the rifle.
@jboritzki let me refrase it what happened whas it jammed so i pulled cocked it again the casing came out and i looked in and there was a bunch of gunpowder in the barrel so i took the bolt and cover and all off and a decent ways in the bullet is lodged in the barrel how i dont know but its in there
Sounds like a squib. ( a round with a primer but no gunpowder. That's what killed Brandon Lee. I'd use a good stout cleaning rod to push the bullet out. You will probably have to tap the cleaning rod with a small hammer to get the bullet to move. These are dangerous so I'm glad you had the forethought to check the rifle before you fired another bullet. A lot of people dont' notice it and fire another round and their rifle blows up in their faces.
Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) was killed in the making of the movie "the Crow" because of a squib load. In movies they will remove the primer and gun powder from a bullet to make it look like a live round. They had some of these in a revolver but 1 round had a live primer. The gun was fired and the bullet got stuck in the barrel and no1 noticed. Later they used the same gun to fire at Brandon but it had a blank in it. The blank propelled the stuck bullet into Brandon, killing him.
@eagerbeaver53: Take it to a gunsmith. If you want to do it yourself, google it. The most important thing is, wash out the breach side with solvent to avoid accidental ignition of any non-burnt powder, and use a rod that is almost as large as the bullet (you will have to hammer the bullet out), but small enough to slide freely in the barrel. The rod must be softer than steel (bronze or carbon is preferred) and it must be solid and long enough to remove the bullet from the breech side.
@eagerbeaver53: Also, you will need a padded vise to hold the barrel of the gun while you hammer. If you don't have the tools, take it to a gunsmith. You could easily end up ruining your gun.
removing a squib round can be very costly. replacing the barrel is most often the task needed. if you can find 762 X 39 blanks you could shoot the lodged round out without any damage or outrageous gunsmithing fees
@virrixia That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. H&K or not you can't remove a squib with another round and if you actually tried that you should not be anywhere near a gun.
I had the same experience. I had one and sold it shortly after I got it. I thought for a sig it shouldnt matter "to hell and back reliability" right? Also, I had horible accuracy out of the model I had.
It's sure not like other Sigs, that's for sure. At $300 for the Mosquito instead of the $900 the store by me sells the P226 for, it's a good deal. This seems to be a love it or hate it gun.
I think each gun is an individual. My skeeter HATES CCI Minimags. I rarely make it through a mag without a failure. I bought 500 rounds of it since the gun came with a rebate on 400 rds and I figured 500 would be a good beak-in. On the other hand it LOVES Federal Auto Match and CCI Blazer. American Eagle is ok and Federal Classic is iffy. Try several brand, determine what your skeeter like, stick with it. My suppressor transfer should be done soon so I'll be looking for a sub-sonic it will eat.
Hi. Looking closely at your gun in the video is looks like the slide is pretty dirty or oily. Is that the way it looks after 4 to 5 thousand rounds thru it or is is just dirty? Thanks. sincerely, JAMES.
Hello again and thanks for all the previous responses and advice which have been very helpful. I would really like to speak with someone who has a Mosquito with thousand upon thousands of rounds thru it. I believe this would be the true reliability test of this gun. So, ANYBODY OUT THERE who has such a gun and would care to share with us their experience and feedback would be greatly appreciated by the Mosquito crown. Thank You. sincerely,d JAMES.
I would guess that i now have 4 to 5 thousand rounds through this gun. It still works great and just seems to work better and better the more I shoot it. I just wish the mags were cheaper.
I polished the ramp and every other metal to metal contact point with high gloss metal polish and Dremel tool. I have very few failures now with any ammo.
I also polished the ramp on my SigP232, now I can chamber a round by slowly riding the slide shut, before the rounds would not feed unless I let it slam shut.
I use to chamber .45 hydroshocks in my old Llama 1911 by slowly letting the slide move forward after doing this same kind of work to it. Before the work it would not chamber a FMJ like that and it would always jam when shooting hollow points.
Hey bro could you tell me how you polished your feed ramp and what products you used. Im having issues with my mosquito as well. I would definitly appreciate it!
I used Mother's metal polish and also 3M polishing compound that's made for car paint. I field stripped the gun, removed the barrel. 2 flat head screws hold it in place ot he frame and they're very tight. I used a fine round file to remove the metal lip where the feed ramp meets the chamber, then 220, 320, 400, 600, 1000 grit sandpaper to finish it. Then a rag wraped around a wooden rod in a drill and the metal polish and polishing compound. B careful and go slow so you don't take it too far.
And honestly, I would start off with trying the Mother's metal polish and just polish up the feed ramp and see if that helps you out. Minimags work the best and other ammo might just need the weaker spring. my aftermarket mag sucks for this gun. Also, this gun likes a lot of lube and keep it pretty wet, meaning dont' wipe every bit of oil off the gun after cleaning. I just say this in case you didn't already know, which you might have. I dunno?
I've also had GREAT results with zero jams using Federal and Remington ammo. CCI is okay, but it seems to be pretty dirty ammo. I called SIG and they said the gun should be torn down right after purchased and oiled. i did that and mine never jammed in 5,000 rounds until I put Blazer ammo in it. Crap Blazer ammo.
I cant hear what your saying in the video.I had problem with feeding issues right outta the box. I then switched ammo. CCI mini mag, 1000 plus rounds, no issues at all. The tried remington Vipers, 1000 plus rds no issues. Then tried the remington 525 hollow point 10 rds = 9 jams. Remington thunder bolts 10 rounds = 6 jams. Then back to viper without cleaning and 200 rounds no jams. What im saying is, get good bullets, it helps lol
CCI minimag and stingers ar eabout all I shoot out of this gun. Minimags work the best for me. I actually had some decent luck with the Federal Walmart bulk ammo in this gun as well.
Sig Mosquito=more jams than Smuckers.
