  • amazing

  • He is still brilliant, but why have 3 idiots disliked this.

  • I just have to listen to this at least 4 times a week because it is so amazing. Plus it makes me feel brilliant.

  • There is no other actor who can really play ValJean... because Colm Wilkinson IS ValJean

  • I sing. So I know, therefore, that it is completely impossible to sing like Colm Wilkinson. No one can sing like that. Colm is a figment of our collective musical imagination. Oh, I just listened to this. Correction. I don't sing. I THOUGHT I sang. I'm going to go drive a bus now. So this is how Salieri felt.............

  • Damn he still has an amazing voice even in his mid 60's

  • I saw him sing this in the original show and he was just so amazing. What a blessing to find this here thank you for posting this.

  • No fucking way! I didn't realise he was Irish until I saw the RTE banner in the background! He's such a hero. I just wish more people knew about him. :\ Luv ya man!

  • This brings tears to my eyes. Colm is like a god.

  • He holds that last note for 17 seconds :o

  • The man is a legend. Saw him at Opera House last year, funny guy too!

  • Brilliant!

  • Bring Him Home is only worth listening to is when it is sung by Colm Wilkinson. Other versions pale in comparison.

  • Still cannot believe how good Colm Wilkinson sounds at 67. He is amazing

  • I usually don't listen to music like this and like it, but that was a really amazing piece of art.

  • Amazing!!

  • and 2 people dont like this??? they must have hit the wrong button :O

  • Colm Wilkinson rocks as Valjean. No one else compares to his brilliance.

  • plagiarized from the Butterfly chorus

  • I hope they give him a short part in the movie

  • He actually sings this with a little something called emotion. Who cares if his voice broke. In real life, people don't actually sing to cope with tough situations, but if they did, I bet they wouldn't be pitch perfect all the time.

  • @BarrettTL is that what you call a broken voice?

  • @mihaimoldo I meant his voice cracked at one point. He still sounds amazing.

  • Can't wait to hear this live today in Kilruddery House! Have goosebumps already! x

  • Alfie*

  • Prefer Algiers boe

  • *Omg*...this little man with this BIG voice <3 I´m falling in love :D

  • He doesn't need makeup for this anymore also if you don't watch him when his voice cracks you don't even notice its just the expression that he puts on when he does it, good thing it was on radio

  • very good, however please take a look at jeff leyton at chelmsford mr leyton is a complete different league

  • @VincentGrimshaw Yes, the blue square premier, northern conference, compared to this.

  • 1 person doesn't want to be bought home

  • wow

  • his voice did not crack he shifted away from the mic he singing in front of a mic and he moved away from it so it sounds cut off

  • @cjaccardi no it definitely cracked lol but thats the highest full voice note in the song and hes like 100 years old so its no biggy

  • @tommandracchia he is 67

  • @horerfandod3 once you hit 65 its all the same

  • I think the fact that his voice goes almost adds to it.

Plus, Colm wasn't performing to a camera here, but you can still see the amount of emotion he puts into it through his body language. It's truly an amazing take.

  • still gotta love colm!

  • It is SO appropriate that one of the most beautiful songs in the world was written specifically as a tribute to this man's voice?!?!?

  • His voice cracked! He is human after all! All this time I thought he was a God.

  • @costerluver

and that makes him one of us mere mortals...

and that made this rendition much much memorable....

  • @costerluver To be fair this song was written for him 25 years ago, he still kicks ass the same as always. Most young men can't sing this and a mans voice only gets deeper as he gets older. Colm is still amazing in my books!!

  • @davo664 Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of his. In my opinion, he is the greatest actor/singer to ever play the role of Jean Valjean and the fact that he can still sing this song so beautifully at age 66 is amazing.

  • GOD HELP ME IF i DIE THIS Has to be played at my funeral this version No other this is the finest thing I have ever heard !!

  • The poignant thing is that Colm is NOW the age in real life that the character Jean Valjean was supposed to be at the point in Les Miserables when he sang 'Bring Him Home.' A song about wanting his future son-in-law Marius to be brought home safely...and the age Valjean died soon afterwards.

  • @adhfan75

Good point. If they ever got around to adapting Les Miserables into a motion picture, cast Colm Wilkenson as older Jean Valjean.

  • @mlabot he would be amazing in the film but I dont know how he would do draging Marius through the sewer

  • Is it just me or did the soon in "how soon they fly" went off key?

And did the "if God had granted me a son" sound half a second too early? I'm not sure if I'm right, I just noticed a very small difference.

  • @XxEchoingSilencexX

His Voice Just Broke For A Second, It's Happend To Everyone

  • @rominoly The break in voice only adds to the emotion for the scene/song, since its supposed to be a sad song anyway. :'( Quite the song.

  • @XxEchoingSilencexX Yeah his voice went on how soon they fly

But the other piece was on time, anyway there's no restrictions in a song like this, you can make small changes to the timing if you want

  • Oh, and kudos to the guy filming.....must have taken a lot of careful planning to not trip on anything or make any noise with all those mikes surrounding ya!

  • This guy is just rediculously good! At his age, singing it ten times better than people my age (30's).....crazy!

  • L 'Atelier adore !

  • simply amazing .......

  • awesome simply magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic! x :,) x brings tears to my eyes xx

  • this doesnt have enough views

  • I was fortunate enough to meet him in London last week an amazing experience !!

  • stunningly beautiful and so moving, will I ever listen to this man sing this song without breaking my heart? I somehow doubt it.

  • To call his voice incredible is an understatement. I've seriously never heard a male vocalist with such an amazing voice. Awesome video.
